My childhood around 1984, growing up in the Bronx. These vids would always come on TV back in the day. But listen to the message through the lyrics. Rappers always had something meaningful to say about real life through their poetry. These days, you can't say the same for these "artists".

Let's keep it real, Greg. Today's so-called "Hip Hop" should be renamed "Shit Hop".

Great song that I remember hearing on WKTU at the factory in Dover, NJ back in '84. I loved the soul, rap, dance, freestyle, pop and rock music back then and many times the lyrics were socially conscious. This will always be a stand out tune for that time along with Nuance "Love Ride", Debbie Deb "When I Hear Music" and Rock Master Scott "Request Line" to name a few. Miss those times and living in NJ but am still loving the music in 2023!!! Thanks for posting this rarity vid Altra Moda Music
