We are surrounded with sounds and nevertheless we are not still conscious of the way they influence our life. The noise constitutes the n°1 complaint of people at work, due to the absence of consideration of the very different situations we are facing during a day. Julian Treasure invites us to take the power on our sound environment to be happier.

      Yes.
Sound is ubiquitous and so is need for conscious design for sound. Anyone on earth could appreciate a little more pleasant sound-scape.

0:50 I think that our most suppressed and under-used sense is smelling. The suppression and masking of scent is almost completely necessary with how unnaturally partitioned our synthetic, human environments are. Soap has been used for over 4 millennia but deodorant was not produced until 1888.

On his comment around 3m 55s, there absolutely are employers who still make employees work like that. They're usually in economically depressed areas where there are few options for work and you take what you can get. There are additional awful things that go on in those areas.
