Nice to see this again. Its 'Its Been Nice' from the album Steps Out. Clip is from a 1963 movie - I can never get the right one but its from either Its Trad Dad or Just for Fun. Ive met Freddy Cannon - just a gentleman and probably the last of Rockers.
Sat through the film twice to see Freddy sing 'Its been nice' and 'The ups and downs of love' both in the same film 'Just for Fun'. They were released on the same single with 'Ups' being the A side. A cracking double sider as was 'The urge' and 'Jump over'. The former being a hit in the UK, where as 'Jump over made it in the U.S. Thanks for the clip.
have no clue who did the original - but i know that Martz Wilde put this number on the flipside of "Bad boy" released in 1959 and The Everlys did did it, too - like 1965 or so
@GusMcC - I stand corrected! It was in "Just For Fun" - and it's the only number not on the current CD. I've now put up a second Freddy track from the film...

It was indeed Marty Wilde who did it first, perhaps surprisingly.
