When I started playing golf in the mid-90s, I used to love Maxfli. I always played Maxfli golf balls, sorting through the bucket of lake balls to find the good looking ones. I have a Maxfli 7 wood as a 14 year old that was great fun, and my very first golf bag was a Maxfli one.
I remember growing up watching Ian Woosnam play Maxfli clubs and it was just great. Nice to see them back, but I doubt they'll make it to the UK.

I used to play the Maxfli Tour in matte green as my go to ball as 2 dozen for $50 in the states is difficult to beat. It's the ball I suggest for all of my friends who are budget conscious and don't want to pay shipping on Vice Pro Soft or who want more than gloss white from Kirkland's.
    Another great comparison video!

I picked up some Maxfli Tour X balls for a golf trip recently and was really impressed by the performance. I noticed no discernable difference in the performance of these and the Chrome Softs that I've gamed for a while. Distance, feel, spin, launch were all good. I played more than 18 holes with 1 ball and noticed no issues with durability either. One small thing that I did like was the the alignment aid on the side of the ball. Clearly they have borrowed from Callaway's Triple Track design but it really seemed like an improvement on the 1 line on the side of the ball that I've been used to for a long time.

I am the average golfer. I love this ball (Maxfli Tour X) and have committed to it for 2020. Back in May I purchased 5 dozen at $17.34 a dozen on a flash sale. Had my normal $10 off a $50 purchase coupon. $76.70 before tax. This summer I can hit 4 dozen in the woods or the water (and I will 💖) and still have 12 balls left. The four dozen I just sadly departed with is equivalent to what I would have paid for a dozen pro v1 🎉🎊😊
Set aside the money, It’s just a nice overall ball. I love the consistency with the putter as well.... that is important

This is great!!! Been waiting for this. I’ve played the TourX exclusively for the last 2 seasons. Definitely comparable in my experience. Today on the Dick’s website the are 2 dozen for $45 with free shipping. You can’t beat that. The standard Tour comes in Yellow also. And if you haven’t heard avoid the matte finish for a multitude of competitive shot performance related items. Specifically moisture. That is any matte ball manufacturer in general.

Good job guys.. I just started using the Maxfli ball and lovin it.. With my engineering background, a ball review is never complete without a look inside. Take a PVC pipe cutter and cut the ball in half and take a close-up of how the ball is put together. When I tee a ball up, I'm not going to remember all the rhetoric.. It all sounds about the same really. What I am going to remember is what the ball looks like inside, because that is what makes the ball unique and what stands out in memory. A look inside tells the whole story really. There are a few ball reviewers that do this, and I so appreciate it..

AVX IS A GREAT BALL And durable, however for me, the Maxfli played better had no imperfections and rolled very true on the green , so for ME, IM PLAYING MAXFLI THIS SEASON. And save some $$$$$$. I bought a bunch of these from Dick's (I think they are now $45 for 2 dozen). Maxfli Tour provides very good ball speed for slower swingers (as the Mygolfspy test stated). I had some issue with durability/scuffing on very thin strikes and/or full sand wedges-- but I definitely play them if the course is known as a "ball eater" course.

Just came across your channel, and I found it to be informative and entertaining...No hype or prejudice concerning one ball (Titleist), over the other (Maxfli), ball...GOOD JOB!!!
There are several other amazing ball brands out there that don't get the respect they deserve! Bridgestone, Srixon, Top Flight (Gamer is a HIDDEN GEM), and Volvik just to name a few!
It's ALWAYS: Titleist, Taylor Made and Calloway that get most of the publication!!! SHAME on the Golfing World SNOBS!!!
I'm in the camp of matching the ball (Compression, Ball Speed, Spin etc...), up to the players (New and Amateur), abilities (i.e. age, swing speed, needs etc...), REGARDLESS of the brand, so that he or she can achieve the best score they can, and enjoy a game that those of us that play it do as well!!!
P.S. New Subscriber...Thanks for your HONESTY!!!

Big fan of Maxfli balls. Started way back with the Revolution, but as recent as the U6, the U-Fli and now the Tour. Shot my best round this year with the Maxfli Tour, an 81. I'm a 14,3 index and have my most issues with the flat stick. One wayward drive, trying to chew too much off of a dogleg, and two 3-putts. Love the CG line on the ball. Ball rolls so nice off of the putter. Great ball, especially when you catch the two for $50 deal.

I have been playing the matte golf balls this year and like the performance but don't like how hard they are to clean. It is much harder to get the dirt off the ball after each hole. In addition, MGS said in one of the podcasts that matte golf balls don't perform as well in wet conditions. I have not played the ball in the wet enough to make a determination myself. Next time I would buy the non-matte version of the balls. Likes others have said there have been some good sales in the US on the ball. I was able to get a dozen for as low as $20. Nice hole out Matt!

Maxfli tour and Snell MTB-X are my golf balls of choice. Great price point and just as good.

MGS said last year the Maxfli was their ball of choice. Would love to see a test of the second hand ball market vs the brand new. Much cheaper versions. I can supply a few ProV1x second hand balls for the test.

Just ordered a dozen of the tour and tour x’s both in matte. Can’t wait to see how they stack up to the BXS and Pro V’s!

The Maxfli tour has been my go to ball since it's launch. One thing Ian & Matt may not have mentioned is that the Maxfli tour balls have "Center of Gravity Balanced Technology" which is supposed to cut down on side spin. I get a few weird looks when someone asks what ball I'm playing, but the Maxfli tour ball is straight up legit.

Yes my patener almost lost his teeth when checking out which ball was what saw mine was a Revolution- pulled out as a " water ball " initially- and I was holding the opposition down hole after hole, putting like a demon. I found it's there that those old MF and,Spalding balls outperform the Titliest every time! Looking for the Revolution replacement next time I buy balls

Wonder if Titleist can find anything in Maxfli s ball to sue them like they did Kirkland 🤪

Impressive performance for sure! I used to play the Maxfli XS ball in the 90s. Was a great ball at a decent price. And sweet hole out Matt! 👍

Back about 13-14 years ago I picked up several dozen Maxfli Revolution Tour balls on closeout after the Maxfli brand got picked up by Dick's. At that time, I felt that their performance was superior to the Pro V1. The (now old) Rev Tour balls still play OK, but now feel harder off the club face and shorter than now-current premium balls.

I'm normally play chromesoft, but someone gave me a box of Maxfli Softfli. I felt like i hit them 5-10 yrs farther off the tee, but they have a little less feel around the green. For $20 US a box I would recommend them for a budget golfer.

Around the fall, Dick's will have these balls on sale, 2 dozen for $30! Great deal! Just got to keep your eye out for it.

They are on sale 2 dozen for $50 all the time. I use Bridgestone when playing money games or a amateur tournament but use the Maxfli tour for practice and or regular playing.

As mentioned I think the real test would be durability. I've played with the same TP5 and ProV1 for two rounds in a row before without losing any performance. That's where I believe the difference would be but I think there are very comparable products out there that are $15 apart per dozen. Thanks for the insight boys!

Great content, love to see the more "budget" balls compared to Pro V1s.

Been very happy with my testing of the Bridgestone BX and BXS, but 2 dozen for 45 is hard to pass up.
