  • If you ever have felt insecure about your portfolio, feel insecure no longer! Also I literally will never stop shaming Lund University for saying that I couldn't prove my English language fluency.

    Hi I just found your channel, thank you so much for sharing your work and thoughts. I had my eye on TU Delft since I was in senior high school, after I graduated bachelor's degree 7 months ago, my old dream to study there resurfaced, but unfortunately I don't have any great achievements in architecture field during my study. I plan to prepare for about 2 years to gather achievements and experiences to enhance my resume and portfolio through my work and a potential international research paper publication from my thesis. And I'm also planning to apply for a scholarship from my country. Do you think it's worth the time and energy for me to do that? Do you think there's a possibility as long as I work hard on it?
    Also, I'm curious to know what do you mean when you said that they probably didn't admit your application because of your degree? I was in a vocational school for 3 years and did an extension program at a university in my country Indonesia for another 2 years, so 5 years of architecture school in total, and I graduated with B. Arch degree. Does TU Delft judge the applicants from their bachelor's university? or do they not pay attention that much to your school background as long as it's a university that's properly accredited in the country and as long as your resume and portfolio in architecture field is qualified enough for them? I just want to make sure that I'm not wasting my time on preparing to apply to a university that probably won't even accept my degree or university in the first place.
    I'd be very thankful if you can reply to this but I also understand it you can't, I'm looking forward for you next contents :)
    If you just have the time to look for the university I studied at it's called Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta.

      @KathrynLarsen  Před 2 lety +2

      I'm sure your portfolio is amazing! I'm not an admissions person so I'm not sure I'm qualified to give review tips. My only advice is to absolutely make sure that you portfolio conforms to the specifications they list on their website- I've seen people of all backgrounds get into this school as long as they follow that and have 1 project detailed to a construction level.

    Hi! Thanks for the video, I find it really useful! Can I ask you if it is better to send the portfolio much before the deadline or if it doesn't matter? How much time before did you send yours to tu delft? Thank you

    • @KathrynLarsen
      @KathrynLarsen  Před 2 lety +1

      I think it only matters if you're applying for a scholarship (non-EU). Otherwise it doesn't matter. I sent mine 2 hours before the deadline closed.

    Thanks for making this video. It’s really helpful. May I ask: Is your Professional Bechelor’s degree different from Bachelor degree( BA) as I’ve seen in the email from D.U sent you they said your Danish Prof.BA wasn’t accepted. I have a B.A in architecture from Vietnam, is it acceptable?

    • @KathrynLarsen
      @KathrynLarsen  Před 3 lety +2

      Yes, this is accepted! It's due to the degree hierarchy system in Denmark and the Netherlands and where you obtain your degree from. A professional BA is not seen the same as a BA, even if they are both bachelor degrees.

    Thanks a lot for making this video. I am currently studying architecture at university, and I am really want to apply Master in Architecture at TU Delft. I am really worried because my degree I will receive when I graduate from my university is Bachelor of Art. Although admission to Master program in TU Delft in Architecture needs to have Bachelor of Science, I would like to ask are there any chances for me?.

    • @KathrynLarsen
      @KathrynLarsen  Před 3 lety +2

      Hi Thanh! What country are you getting your degree in? For many countries, they just ask for a 4-year bachelor degree or a university bachelor degree. I think it will be ok, if you are getting a BA at a university level. Vocational schools are the ones they do not accept, and my undergraduate degree was considered a vocational education.

    • @thanhnguyenduc8780

    Is it worth applying to TUDelft straight out of undergrad? Or do most people there for Master’s have a few years of Professional experience under their belt already?

    • @KathrynLarsen
      @KathrynLarsen  Před 2 lety +1

      It is worth it! Most of the Dutch students have little to no work experience apart from maybe one 6 month internship. As someone who did work a lot, sometimes I needed to unlearn the things I learned through work and give myself permission to play.

      Only dutch speaking ones that did the bridging program. I would consider applying to Eindhoven design school because they accept people from all disciplines. You won't be an architect but you can be a designer that works with architecture with that degree.
