What a sweet spirit Karen Batchelor has. What an example for us Christian women. And our family has grown SO much from Pastor Doug's teaching (and other like-minded Pastors and Teachers). And most especially with what we eat too. It took me a while, but I have managed to eat healthier these days. Of course there are once in a month that I will still buy a pizza and a Coke, but I will gain the victory over that as well.
I have used to overeat in the past, but at a certain point I just stopped doing that.

Pastor my brother is a extremely bad alcoholic I live with my brother and my mama take care of them and work so dealing with my brother is very hard for me but if he don't drink he gets to shakes extremely bad and he could die if he goes through DTS my my mother will not Baker act him so he will get help and because of his alcoholism he will not eat at all he drinks about a case of beer a day. I pray everyday and night for my brother but I think one reason people drink so much and do some of the things they do is because they're very insecure about their selves.
I'm sorry to hear that you and him will be in our prayers maybe witness to him about Christ? Keep praying that he may be saved support him show him light Which Christ puts in you show him Christ in your life

He needs to go to rehab.
Unfortunately, when these alcoholics live with family, especially with a mother in the home, they tend to enable them by doing everything for them, he should be required to do for himself, cook for himself and clean for himself, not be dependent to do for him, he is grown. But right now he needs rehab, if he refuses, kick him out the door.
A to Jaqueline, that verse simply means that in the last days, people will be going on as usual living their lives, not preparing for His coming, not looking ,preparing, anxiously awaiting His return.

He usually reminds in his description of the secret rapture that what him coming like a thief in the night doesn't mean we're not gonna see him come but that we won't know when He's coming. A thief doesn't announce "hey I'm gonna be there to rob you half past 10 but that we won't know when. However, Jesus doesn't make a good thief because He's gonna make a huge noise and every eye shall see Him. I hope that helped anyone who has this question

To Pastor Doug Batchelor .my son keeps saying all this is children's fairy tales. it's like he's trying to convince me that God is not real. I'm having a really hard time, I keep believing in God . I know God is my creator . I know Jesus Is My Savior. I believe in the Sabbath Saturday but he's got so many questions and I cannot answer them ..please pray for my son.. I think Satan has got so deep into him that I mean I'm assuming that ...I don't know for myself. for sure I just don't understand why a person would not believe in God and want to believe in Satan ,he says Satan and Jesus are the same and you can't have evil without good ... please pray for him...Thank you

To Kayla:, Your Mother is suffering from low self esteem & has jealousy in her heart, I suggest family therapy to help her heal over the past. Forgiveness most helps the person doing the forgiving, It's clear her feelings are hurting her as well as you. Now I realize you cannot make two grown adults get therapy., but you could search out free social services, sit your Mother down, tell her she is upsetting you, that the "riff" between her and your earthly Father must be kept between them only, In a marriage; because we are sinfully humans, both parties need to forgive one another, since you cannot make your mother's heart forgive, your mother may think she forgives him, but she cannot seem to forget, her pain runs deep I bet she needs to know you love her more because she feels she deserves this, Unfortunately you are caught in the crossfire. the anger & bitterness is not hurting your Father it's hurting Her; your Mother, You need to explain she's only hurting herself in her ranting & raving, that her behavior is driving a wedge between your relationship with her & that it is causing you stress & turmoil, & you expect her to STOP putting you in this position. Are you old enough to move out, perhaps share an apt.with a friend. or simply rent a room, Or ask your Father in confidence if he would consider supporting you , in that you could try living with him because you've cried tears due to all the stress, your mother is trying to control you & you just cannot tske it anymore. The Bible instructs us to be kind And show love to all including our parents, You need to be Firm with your Mother in words that you expect her to stop! sit her down for this talk, calmly tell her you will not listen to her words because it is too stressful You must do this at a time when you are getting along beautifully with her, Do not, I repeat Do Not try to have this discussion with her anytime she has seen your Father or during her jealous rants, You cannot control your mother, so You need to get therapy to have a professional help you through this, hit record on your phone during her rants, play it back for her. Not at the time she is going off on you! choose your time wisely, perhaps there is a pastor you can speak with to help you deal with this seemingly impossible situation, you k ow with Christ all things are possible. so pray, Actually ask your mother what she needs from you to help her feel loved, She is the one with problems, don't say that, just know it , so it's not you, you are not doing anything wrong, next time split the meal so there's some for her, she needs to feel special, that's not solely your job,she's got to do the work herself, she's to close to the issue & still filled with anger & hurt over whatever she feels wronged with in her past marriage. Pray for God's strength & wisdom BEFORE confronting her , & keep praying always for those things,

I drink one cup of coffee every morning, no more, no less, is this a sin? I've seen people living in their 80s and still drink a cup of coffee every morning. If coffee is indeed a sin and so bad for the body or mind, then why do these people continue to live a decent lifestyle while drinking it? Also, isnt a coffee bean plant naturally grown? How could this be harmful? I am genuinely asking because I dont know the answer, I have prayed about it but it seems God has not yet revealed this to me.
Don't get caught up in the new cult. The Bible specifies that eating pork and shellfish is bad. There is nothing wrong with coffee. Most kids can eat a candy bar without any negative effects but to a diabetic it could mean death. Has noting to do with salvation one way or another. Anyone who tells you differently is a whack job. I like pastor Doug but these types of sermons just give ammo to the crazies.

I can see it being bad if it's an addiction. I know some people that have to have more than 1 cup a day.
