- The Cranberries singer Dolores O’Riordan accidentally drowned in a bathtub after drinking, a coroner’s inquest concluded Thursday (Sept. 6). A police officer told the inquest at Westminster Coroner’s Court that a pajama-clad O’Riordan was found submerged in her bathtub at a London hotel on the morning of Jan. 15.

Such an easy way to go. Its a safe bet many, many people have died this way. I know i once fell asleep when i was pissed up and i nearly burned my flat down, because i left something cooking on the stove. The danger is drinking when you are really tired. So easy to fall asleep. I was really lucky and woke up because when my room started to fill with smoke it made me cough, which jolted me awake.
You really nearly bought the farm.
Neighbour of ours fell asleep with a cigarette burning in the ashtray beside him. A couple hours later and only wreckage of the house was left, and the man was super lucky to be alive.

I sure did, mate. My ticket almost got punched for sure. I don't drink or smoke anymore. Those days are long gone now. Once you start getting into your 40's and 50's you have to start making changes for the sake of your health.

Glad he made it out okay. A young black lady up the street from me was in similar situation. Sadly she didnt make it out alive. She was only in her late 20's - early 30's too. I didnt know her personally but i used to see her walk past my front room window when she was on the way to the local shop. She was also asleep when the fire took hold. Someone told me it was the smoke that killed her. Fire gutted her flat. It was horrible seeing them dragging out the left over bits of burnt furniture when they were clearing the flat.

Us women really need to be careful when we mix alchohol and medication it doesn't take much to cause fainting. And especially if we aren't eating properly and are dehydrated it becomes more and more dangerous as we get older. In my twenties I did that and one day I read about some dying because of that...and I was like shit this is actually dangerous
