Trieste is a city and seaport in northeastern Italy. It is located towards the end of a narrow strip of Italian territory lying between the Adriatic Sea and Slovenia. Trieste is the capital of the autonomous region Friuli Venezia Giulia.

"Città della Barcolana", "Città della bora", "Città del vento", "Vienna by the sea" and "City of coffee" are also idioms used to describe Trieste.
Today I will take you through the most important places in Trieste. We will have a coffee in two of the most historic cafes in the city!

☕ Caffè Tommaseo is the oldest coffee house still in operation in Trieste, founded in 1830. With its beautiful Belgian mirrors, decorated ceilings and wooden chairs in the Thonet style, it is well worth a visit. The cafe was restored in 1997 maintaining the original sophisticated neoclassical style.
In today's video, we have a typical Trieste coffee, Capo in B with hot chocolate (a tradition of the city, where they don't serve you water but chocolate!).
☕ Caffè degli Specchi, the only testimony to what was once Trieste's main square full of cafes, among which are Caffè Garibaldi (below the Palazzo del Municipio), Caffè Flora (in Casa Pitteri) and Caffè Orientale (below Palazzo Loyd) , now part of the past.
Nicolò Privolo opened the cafe in 1839. He decided to cover the walls with engraved mirrors, each of which recounted a historical event that occurred in 19th century Europe.
The motif of the mirrors, more than aesthetic, was functional, since, before electricity (electric lighting was not introduced until 1933), most visitors left at dusk because the cafes were dark.
Mirrors allowed candles and oil lamps to be reflected hundreds of times, illuminating the cafe with blazing light, allowing visitors to linger even after dark.
I will take you to Caffe degli Specchi, where we will have Mocaccino coffee. Another typical coffee of Trieste.

Dalla strada percorsa da napoleone, chiamata napoleonica, c'e' il piu bella vista panoramica di tutta la citta e il suo golfo. Ci sono tantissimi altri palazzi ed edifici del 700 e 800 di gran bellezza, anche primi 900. Il palazzo degli incanti ex pescheria, c'e' l'antico giardino botanico di via marchesetti con un altra vista panoramica magnifica.

Il video è bellissimo. Tuttavia, sarebbe stato meglio farlo in lingua Italiana in quanto l'inglese è piuttosto traballante e ci sono molti errori grammaticali che un po' rovinano il video. Meglio sarebbe stato postarlo in italiano e sottotitolarlo in inglese. Scusa ma sono un interprete.
Non mostra altri luoghi edifici di alto valore d arte e architettonico. Sta perdendo tempo a san giusto. Vada in piazza della borsa, vada in cavana , vada in via mazzini ex palazzo ras e davanti il palazzo cassa di risparmio, vada alla antica stazione ferroviaria, vada a mostrare la bellezza che generarono i ebrei nella trieste asburgica, gli ebrei che vennero sterminati dagli ebrei nazisti
Citta' dalla tipica architettura slava / Est Europa / asburgica. Di "italiano" non ha proprio niente...Neppure gli orribili graffiti che fanno sembrare le "vere" citta' italiane simili a quelle del Guatemala ! 😎
