When there's nowhere left to hide, the only way out is through...
RUNNER is an arcade-inspired VR driving action game. Players take on the role of Mina, a rogue mod-courier at the center of a massive city-wide pursuit. Beginning in the heart of Presidium, the neon-drenched capitol of the mining colony moon N-351, Mina’s only means of escape is the “Thoroughfare,” a massive highspeed expressway that snakes through the entirety sprawling colony complex. Pursued by the forces of the Caldara corporation, Mina must race through 7 sectors while fighting off relentless waves of autonomous corporate combat drones.
Using only their wits, their cybernetics, and a unique array of special abilities, the player will become the runner in this fast-paced, kinetic VR experience.
• RUNNER features visceral first-person driving gameplay that embraces the unique visual style of late 1980’s prestige anime.
• Players take control of their motorcycle, weaving in-and-out of traffic at breakneck speeds while fending off waves of enemy attackers.
• The action punctuated by an original and dynamic music system set to an incredible throwback soundtrack composed by Fat Bard.
• RUNNER sees the player racing through the Presidium mining colony, pursued by an army of relentless drones.
• Players can customize the look of their bike with unique paint and lighting combinations before jumping into the fray.
• Multiple vehicles are unlockable, each with it’s on set of unique traits and handling.
• Autonomous motorcycles, UAVs, hunter-killer tanks, sniper quadrupeds, covert assassin vehicles and larger-than-life bosses lie in wait to put an end to Mina’s escape.
• RUNNER features 360-degree freeform gunplay, utilizing twin checkpoint automatic pistols integrated into the control yoke of her bike.
• Powerups collected along Mina’s route further enhance the weapons at the player’s disposal, with powerful options such as scattershot, lasers, and much, much more.
• The arsenal also includes heavy ordinance such as grenades, lock-on missiles, and an integrated vehicle cannon.

Runner looks promising but the developers set the bar high with their theme Corn Love. A lot to live up to.
You know, we didn't do Corn Love? we made a 3D version of it but held release at the last second because the original creator remade it. Professional courtesy and the desire not to be derivative.
That said, we *DID* do the PS2 Legacy Dynamic theme . . . ;)

Is control of the bike integrated into the VR controllers, so that you can change the bike's course while shooting?
And is it possible to set up other controllers? I have a set of rudder pedals that would be great for turning.
No alternative control schemes to talk about right now, but yes you do indeed control the bike's course, as you have to navigate traffic, dodge obstacles, maneuver around enemies and grab powerups!
Suggestion: make a 2MD basketball edition where you have 2 minutes to make a comeback from a certain amount of points ex: round one goes to 5 points and gets harder as the game goes on. And for the bonus round it could be like a 3 point shootout but with yourself. I feel like that would be a lot of fun

Melee weapons would have been better than guns.
I dunno, it's easier to shoot a flying drone with a gun . . . but guns aren't the only weapons at your disposal . . . :)

Though digging it, tbh personally for myself and some others I know are sort of turned off by the depiction of police with the same siren lights etc. It would be preferred and perhaps at least could change the siren light to an alternate virtual world color..such as light orange, etc. Some of us would appreciate it you could tweak and it would still look fine. Regards
The lights actually are blue and orange :) as will be clear, these drones are not police, rather corporate forces. Likely the capture of the post processing is lightening it up a bit. We’ve posted high res captures on our Twitter (@runner_vr) that provide additional clarity to this little detail!
@@TruantPixel I meant the who siren light, it’s also the specific blue shade which is associated with, or perhaps change that to more light purple, darker blue, or all orange? Regards

"PS5 VR, PC VR and NEXT GEN" does that mean there is a non-vr version coming too?
The aesthetic is great, but the gameplay looks a bit boring for me. Too simple I suppose.
