Was India robustly standing up to China, increase confidence in India’s defence strength and confidence reason for upping US pressure on China on the Tibet issue. Is it time to push for a more autonomous if maybe not an independent Tibet

Would it we wrong to say that not withstanding India’s reluctance to openly align with USA, it would be in US interest to strengthen India militarily and economically, because the stronger India gets, more Chinese resources will be tied up to counter India, conversely reducing its capacity on its eastern front

Would it be wrong to say that without India’s active participation the Indo-Pacific strategy would be greatly weakened

Yes they need India desperately. But their behaviour towards India is not changing that rapidly.

One of the theories for China’s aggression in the Himalayas is to tie up India in the northern border and less in the India-Pacific where China sees India’s geographic location and growing strength as a direct threat to it.
Secondly China needs to establish itself as the ‘Only’ hegemony in Asia to challenge US’s No-1 position. Would it be to US advantage to strengthen India to be able to stand up to Chinese hegemony. It would serve as a forward base for US for logistics, maintenance and repair facility for US assets especially naval. And if and when India decides to join USA more actively it could do so more seamlessly with experience on common platforms and interoperability

Exactly. Cochin Shipyard is establishing facility to handle 65,000 tonnes aircraft carriers. Existing Indian aircraft carriers do not exceed 45,000 tonnes.
Cochin Shipyard is also building support ships for UK Navy.
