Had to pause and comment on the depression in marriage thing. This is real, it happened to me in the first few months of marriage. Not because he was not a good husband, but because of the self inflicted expectation I had about being a wife and home keeper. I carried all these societal expectations, some of which are attainable but others were not. The worst was imposing those uncommunicated expectations to my husband and that brought friction.
I'm in a better place now and I am at my happiest. I never ever thought I'd be this happy in my marriage because we've now infused and created our own culture in our home. I don't have to live up to some woman's standard of being a good Godly wife.
I'm my own person and have started embracing my uniqueness and the same with my husband.
Its a journey I don't regret having passed
