- ICAST 2023 brought us a couple good things, a couple bad things, and a lot of MEH things. That said, we were most excited to play with the new kayaks! Kayak fishing keep on growing and improving, and the fishing industry is just trying to keep up with the movement. Native dropped the all new TITAN X, which is essentially a bass boat made of plastic, but looks awesome. Bonafide dropped the SKF, a SUP/Kayak hybrid, that looks like a lot of fun. Old Town came out with the EPDL, an interesting new innovation for kayak fishing. And Yak Attack is working on some really cool new accessories.
All and all this was a great event for kayaks, not the best, but certainly great!

What do y’all think of these new kayaks???
I’ve got an outback and it might be getting sold for the titan x. Waiting for them to release the weight on it.
$6k is too rich for me. Titan-X geared to the tournament/hard core fisherman. The Wilderness Systems Recon seemed like a good value. Nice that you could buy the base and save up your money and get the pedal system later. Would like the I-ATAk if it had a pedal drive option.
When do you think they are going to introduce an inflatable kayak that has a foot peddle? That’s what I’m looking for!
@@naychiv9325 bote makes one
@@naychiv9325 Hobie iTrek 11 or the 9 but pricey. I believe the iTrek 11 is $2979 and the 9 is $2799
6k for a kayak is crazy 🤣 hopefully its worth it for anybody that buys it
For real tho ca. Get a nice boat for that
$2500 is as far as I go.
I just feel like these things break so easily and then what did you really pay for. Sure they are just as expensive to replace.
Was gonna get a Hobie but I want it for the pedal drive and I’ve heard terrible things about them.
I heard Hobie sold out
These prices are getting crazy for plastic $6000
$6K is absolutely never acceptable for a kayak... totally stupid and counter to the point of the kayak... (I don't care how integrated it is, buy yourself a boat). actually I know you are excited about the sub $3000 prices but that is also not ok, a pedal kayak should be $1500< $2000 and a motored kayak $1700
I love em! $3,300 and I can ocean fish for 3 to 4 foot "sea monsters" without the ongoing cost of an ocean-worthy boat. The kayak was my "upgrade." Would rather not spend $6000, but I will if it's the best fit for me.
I also don't like how expensive they are, but if they are made in the U.S. they will always be more expensive than being manufactured from places with low wage labor like China.
These companies don't just make up a price. Most of these prices are based off supply and demand. Inflation just makes it worse.
I would agree if it was just a standard paddle kayak... But sometimes having the latest innovations comes at a price, however as others catch up then the cost should round out and sometimes it doesn't.
Your point about the price compared to a boat doesn't really apply though, i sold my boat to buy my kayak because it allows me to fish in more places (however I am not a deep sea fisher). I think if people are buying a kayak as a cheaper option, there are plenty of options, but for those that are buying it for its benefits, spend whatever is in the budget.
I only spent around $2000 AUD for my pedal kayak and now I can fish the lakes, estuaries and creeks around my area and my favourite factor is that I throw it on my 4x4 and take it to places almost never fished because you cannot access them with a trailer.
Literally my Titan 13.5 pedal drive I got in 2019/20 and paid $2,000 for it. These prices are insane today
Jeff Little...another great dude, I've fished with him a couple of times--he's a beast. I remember when he paddled in the Chesapeake Bay in search of Striper in his Tarpon...that and winter fishing on the Susquehanna... He's a true BEAST in the kayak fishing realm.
No lies detected
The hardshell wilderness system yak was actually dope the price is not bad at all and the inflatable didn't look half bad neither. I liked that rubber material hull that should hold up way better then a normal inflatable that's pretty exposed underneath.
I love that Old Town but at $7000, I'd just get a used aluminum Bass Tracker with a 90HP. I fish 50% of the time out of my trusty generic $300 kayak.
Been paddling for 20 years and the one major thing I see that isn't addressed on any kayak is the ease to flip it back over in the event of a turtle! All that junk and high rise seats must be fun turning over and getting back in.
If you flip these your an idiot
the Native and the old town are my favorites. Also id rather get the Newport vessels motor only because they're cheaper.
Just when I thought I knew what I wanted, this video comes out! Thanks for all the in depth coverage fellas
🤙🏼
LOL, that's how it goes!
Nice Walleye, that wind looked brutal, your a brave man lol. Love your setup.
Hi guys love your videos. I'm a fat man. I would like if you guys could tell me the weight capacity of those new kayak. I need to buy a new one. Thanks guys.
Go for a wide beam pontoon/tritoon hull. The natives, Hobies and Old Towns have big weight capacities in the 450lb plus range
Nice to see my pelican in a video 😂 the seat with the booster platform is awesome I sit on it the majority of the time and love it for sight fishing
Pelican also makes a sliding 360° swivel seat that can be added
🙌
Need an on the water video on these Pelicans, Guys!
Good stuff guys, thanks !
I don't kayak, but those are some very nice ones to me. Enjoyed watching this. Keep up the great work my friends. And as always, #AggressivelyAverageAnglers rocks!!!
🙌
You guys did the best review of I cast thank you q
Thank you!
That SKF is going to be a candidate for my soon to be purchased throw and go kayak.
Love the skf!
Best thing about the Old Town ePDL is they removed the angled rod holder under the seat! I hate those under my sportsman bc I can’t put storage boxes under my seat!
You can thank me on the titan seat lol. Woody Callaway listens.
The SKF117 is going to be an amazing backlakes rig! Can’t wait to get mine!
my only complaint about oru is the weight limits on their products also i cant seem to find yakattack trackpak yet hope it gets released soon those are game changers
The SKF just screams “throw and go”
It looks awesome!
Crazy to pay these prices! I'll hold on to my ride 135. Thank you!
IDK, the ePDL is neat and all but not for $6000. At least not for me.
I'd rather get the Titan X for $3600. Add Newport NK180 ($1000) and Garmin Striker 9sv ($620) with a 24v 50ah ($929) & 12v 46ah ($400) and you're stting at $6700. More, except you'll still want a fish finder and power for the fishfinder on the ePDL. And that doesn't come with a swivel locking seat, ready mounting for power poles, further electronics (power link system), and a premade system for foot steering if you want it.
ePDL is cool and new so I get the Best in Show award. But the TitanX is the better choice just about any away I look at it.
I hear ya!
Yes, I've got the Bigwater PDL, and was so looking forward to the E version...then they priced more than the autopilots.... ridiculous!...I'm with ya on the titan x ....rigged out , you come out ahead with , with foot steering too.
How come you guys didn’t cover the Vibe Uptown 100? Was curious to hear more about it
We ran out of time…
Hey guys: I think I've found the PERFECT tune for bkgrnd music on yer future videos. Check out Joe Walsh's "Ordinary Average Guy". Bet you'll both agree. Tight lines! Bill (the Shadman) from Little Rhodey. Take a listen. Great song!!!
Native never should have discontinued the slayer xc... they need to bring it back
“Hyper convenient”?🤣
I like the new titan
How is “oxbee” spelled? Where can we find that thing?
Also the titan x looks like it will be my next ride. That thing is stacked and clean.
It’s auxbeam
@@aaanglers tyvm!
Jeff asking if the backpack kayak makes him look cool... About as much as the flames painted on a car makes it go faster
😂😂
Who was the mfg of the Bluetooth light controller on the Titan? Auxbeam? Great video btw thanks
We’ll have to check footage, those were dope
@@paulglass7268 ABSOLUTELY!! THANKS AGAIN
It was Auxbeam, I can't find to product anywhere, so it must be a new drop
What about the new Vibe Uptown Lite?
Didn’t have time….
Was nucanoe not there
Nope
Can you put the new ePDL drive in the 120 pdl sportsman?
Unfortunately no
EPBL looks interesting but it is missing the best and most critical part of having a motor. Spot Lock. I would not be interested in this boat without that feature.
Awesome channel!
Question, im looking to get into kayak fishing
What is the best kayak that can
fit in the back of a truck
good in very ruff salt water,
good in strong current to fish bridges and the inlet
Im thinking of getting only a pedal one now but having the ability to upgrade to a spot lock motor maybe later on.
Best bang for the buck?
Thanks so much!
The Xi3 can be upgraded and is really popular as far as motor options go. Bow mounted
Little late, but the best bang for your buck fishing kayak is the Feelfree Lure 13.5. Excellent rough/big water fishing kayak and it's currently $1200. It's such an underrated kayak. I've had one for 3 years now.
@@jasonalmy1872 thanks for commenting back.
I ended up getting the old town big water 132pdl on super sale for $1750 out the door
@@waterboy5164 nice!
Are these sea kayaks or intended for river and lakes?
All intended freshwater, but these companies make salt versions too.
Replacing the battery is maybe another couple $100.00 .
For a powered assist pedal , I'll stay with all manual pedal powered
so which motor is better minkota or torkedo?
No idea, would have to use em both
I don’t know what is going on .is the Moken 10 a great kayak for me
It depends on what you want out of your kayak and where you use it
To bad the SKF117 lacked a pedal drive
People saying buy a boat i got my boat now i need an autopilot kayak once you have autopilot on your yak when you get a boat youll need one there to
When I saw the Native TitanX I was like that thing is 🔥
You’re not alone
I want it BAD!
After I saw it, I told my wife that’s the one I want!
Noticed nothing from Hobie this year
They weren’t there
It’s not looking good…
Too damn expensive for their simple kayaks! You can get other peddle drive kayaks for half the price!
I wish I could win a kayak like the Titan x or an old town autopilot
Podrían sub.en castellano o español. Gracias desdé Argentina
What happened to hobie? Kayak
The brand or our Hobies?
I just wondering why y’all didn’t show them
They weren’t there. No Hobie kayaks
$6,000 and it has a static non-swivel seat? Really? These kayak companies are going to price themselves right out of business.
We're in a recession going into a depression and 6000 dollar kayaks are not what the market needs. Rediculous!
Ebike mountain bike start there and they sell. I know it is crazy. That's why I still paddle my old town predator 13 😆
Turn off due to the drive system and the belt
Majority of ppl paying 6k for a kayak will be selling them with in 2 yrs barely used, for a much better price. I'd cash in then!!! lol
All these kayaks are too heavy and may need a trailer.
Truck or trailer for sure
Still nothing comes even close to Hobie
6k 😢
$6K for a boat that won'y do anything the $1200 does well!! Old Town has always been way over priced.
Screw Old town with that price on that kayak!! What a ripoff!!!
Honestly, at first I was intrigued at the kayaks available, however this quickly turned to depression when I started to hear the prices these come in at and I think 1400 was a base model, I apologise but I had to turn it off because I've no idea how someone would justify spending that kinda money on a kayak 🤦
To each their own
@@aaanglers Don't mean I'm wrong 😉
@@jayjay-bp7uzdefinitely doesn’t make you right.
@@aaanglers I can just imagine telling my children that we can't take a camping trip this year because I blew the budget and some on a kayak, that's it in a nutshell really, so I guess I'll agree to disagree and move on ✌🏽
kayaks are making it cheaper to buy a used boat rediculous
6k 😅😅 its the Ram-Jeep-Ford - all things EV pricing model 😅 let them sit & age like the car lots. They said 6k followed up with the last selling points 😅😅😅
Six grand for a kayk stop smoking that wacky weed bro
Just so you know… I didn’t make it that price
