A vehicle type which can trace its lineage back to the successful Daimler Dingo scout car of the Second World War, the Ferret was designed with stealth in mind, a light and fast armoured vehicle which could probe enemy positions, reporting any discovered weak points back to commanders, with their own forces moving to exploit what they found.
Weighing in at around 4 tons operational weight, the Ferret was of all welded construction and featured armour protection capable of withstanding most small arms fire, but nothing much heavier, although it was not intended that the vehicle would be operating in direct opposition to heavy enemy armour.
If it did find itself in a bit of trouble, the 4 wheel drive Ferret was powered by a reliable 6 cylinder Rolls Royce engine which gave it a top speed of 45 mph, a speed it could also achieve in reverse if required, something which could prove extremely useful if the crew found themselves in a tight spot.

I'm in awe at the detail and design in the Airfix kits I have made recently and this Ferret is on my ToDo list. Thank you
I've just bought this kit... can't wait to start on it...
one of the best tooled and fitting models from airfix it has been a joy to make
There has been a huge gap in the model market for years now and that is British Post War Vehicles. They served the army for Many years from the 50's 60's -90's 2000's so many ExServicemen will have a connection to the. Especially with Help the heros.Theres The Bedford RL, MK, Humber Pig Mk1&2, Saracen, Austin Champs. and yes the Ferret. Another mainstay would be the Battlefield Taxi the Scout Helicopter. That wouldnt be too big in 1/35 and would make a fantastic addition to a Ferret. I'm planning to start on my ferret this week, if its as bood as it looks ill be getting a few. Will you be updating Decal options as time goes on. Keep up the good work
Hoping we get a no turret version down the road!
The Berlin colour scheme would be a challenge!
Excellent. When I first heard the announcement, my first thought was: "I hope this isn't simply a Heller reboxing, or similar". I was over the moon to learn this is all Airfix' work. Wonderful stuff. Cheers.
I prefer WWII 1/32nd but because it is Airfix, I will now have to buy it.
Just found one in my local model shop for instant purchase...Telford IPMS here we come...
Be nice if stores in Australia actually had this kit in stock . . . . . .
Thanks Ethan, I will definitely be getting one of these lovely kits, very well done.
Very good! Greetings, SLOVAKIA.
My stepdad drove one in Aden (where it's kicking off now) and I had a ride in one on holiday in Northern Ireland. A great kit that I'm having fun adding stuff to. I've ordered some different decals for one that served in Aden. Please do some more armoured cars. How about a Dingo to go with it?
Awesome model 👍
Congratulations Airfix 🥰👍🇬🇧
Still waiting for it to arrive in the US; had one on pre-order since it was first announced, will probably order at least one more.
How about a Defender 110 (not the new Defenders) or even Series III Land Rover? The Italeri one is very long in the tooth. Or a Saracen, Humber "Pig"?
Looks good! But will it come in 1/72 too?
Another vehicle that doesn't have a kit in the same price range as Airfix is Little Willie. There are two kits in 1/35 but they're both expensive. I'd love a more affordable version with options like steering wheels and even the damaged front as displayed at Bovington.
Got mine's.
pre-ordered mine from HLJ!
Looks a brilliant kit Ethan well done son ,👍 , carry on with the good work , I haven't built or even bought the kit yet , I'm wondering if you have any free samples of it to give away if so,I'd take one from you, also the 1/48 seaking if any going spare I'd b very grateful Ethan. I think you have the potential to b the best in your field of work going by this kit
Is air fix from the uk or china ???????
