- Bought four lots of 78RPM shellac records from an online estate sale. Although the pictures were terrible, I did make out a Little Walter record on Checker. Found several other early R&B, blues, and western swing records along with the usual big bands, fox trots, and waltzes. Even got some early records for my Victrola.

I love 78,s i have about 620 all kinds from 1920 to 1960,s i bought about 3 months ago 460 from a guy i paid 115$ and they are in very good shape in sleeves with plastic outer sleeve ! Its my gold mine! I have original hank williams elvis johnny cash bill hailey etc. And they sound amazing with the proper stylus which i use!

I lucked out and found not one but 2 Joe Houston LP's..."doing the TWIST" at some thrift stores. This guy really blasts the SAX! A lot of his big hits were during his time in LA.
I find his records pretty regularly. He definitely played a great sax.

Most 78s aren't worthless, but some of them definitely are.
Some nice stuff there. I’ve collected 100s of 78s, mostly from lot sales. I find the Columbia red label discs sound the worst, maybe because I have a lot of Sinatra and Rosemary Clooney and Dinah Shore. Decca’s sound good, but the Bluebird and Victor discs I have sound fantastic, practically no noise.
That Andrews Sisters disc, I believe Rhumboogie was the hit side. I like to get my hands on any Andrews Susters Decca discs.
