This vayu shakti was a disaster , Tejas missed the target and SAM also missed, height of incompetence against a cheap subsonic drone. Tomorrow if a fifth generation Chinese fighter comes, what will happen ?
Pakistan has 500 plus fighter jets
India only has 600 plus fighters currently. Air refuellers? Don't mention.

Hats off to our smart & brave officers and jawans. The IAF planners need a serious kick in their ass and needs to wake up. Hello, common people of India care about our pilots and the equipments they use. Why is everything moving in snail pace. We don't have smart negotiators?.
India needs atleast 900 fighters if there is a 2 front war in addition to 10 to 15 air refuellers and 15 to 20 AWACS aircrafts. Just to defend and survive against China and Pakistan.
What on earth are we waiting for. Our Jaguars and Mirages are supposed to get phased out after 2030(in 6 years). They are about 200 total.
I know Tejas MK1a, Tejas mk2, AMCA etc. But these are still not sufficient to plug the gaps even. Please wake up, wash your face, open your eyes. Our pilots, we want them to defend India and come home alive. Buy aircrafts.
Order 150 Raffale f4 standard
100 Saab gripen with tot and they can also help with Tejas mk2 and AMCA as well or Dassault can assist. We need 5th gen too. Either Su57 or if it's not ideal, seriously look at f35(it's super expensive but we need it as a deterrence since we failed to acquire enough aircrafts in time). If the US won't sell F35 due to S400 systems in India, work with Russia for a heavily modified Su 57(specifically for India like Su30)
And put double speed on Tejas mk1a, mk2 and AMCA.
I appologize if my worries were inappropriate, I was interested in reading about airforce when I saw vayyshakti 2024 in CZcams. The lack of enough aircraft is soo alarming.

Most people have no idea about how a R 73 is meant to operate. It is for medium to large fighter aircraft. Making it try and intercept drones is not ideal. (it is very odd for a missile to completely miss in 2 different situations. It is most likely due to the target drone used)
