What I like about this series is that it assumes you are familiar with after effects and basic editing practices rather than wasting your time explaining what hotkeys to press and breaking down every single keyframe.
I am absolutely in love with RG's Optical Glow. It completely blows away all other Glow effects before it. It's versatile, it's powerful, and it's all-around great.
For the life of me I couldn't figure out a way to make my turbulent noise black for years without some sort of work around and you have finally given me an answer to that! You sir are a gentleman and scholar!.. lol
So hyped right now! Can't wait for more in depth tutorials like this! Not only for the techniques used but also for the major inspiration for new projects!

When he said the Word Turbulent and about to say displacement I instantly thought I wonder if he's gonna play that clip like back in the day and yep they did it. Made my day . Film Riot still has that clip saved some where special on their hard drives just in case for occasions like this.
Film Riot was the first show on CZcams I watched that made me love filmmaking and also not limiting the lessons to beginner stuff but to some really great feature quality effects and the like.

In addition to amount and size, the complexity setting in turbulent displacement was also essential to get this destruction look. That's how he dissipated into those little pieces.

I love how when editing each individual effect looks Janky on its own. But when you put it all together it looks so cool!
