Queen is the only band where each member wrote a #1 single. This, their best selling song, was written by the invisible bassist in blue, John Deacon.
"Invisible bassist in blue." 😆 🤣 We love you, Deacy!
I think all the Beatles had their on number 1 song.
@@ElijahsMimi Not Ringo
@@themetalchica - Deaky was never invisible to me. He was my fave!
BTW, on the recording of this song he also played the funky guitar, not Brian.
My favourite Queen song
"This man's too comfortable on stage!" 😂😂😂
I'm 64 and have known this song forever, but I've never seen him in short shorts either lol
Your reaction, just make me smile and laugh, “The man the band is a GOAT”
If only I had a fraction of the confidence Freddy gives off whilst walking on that stage in those shorts!
That's the magic of Freddy Mercury 🤣🤣🤣
As you watch more Twin videos with Queen, this is clearly the 1st they are seeing from this concert but there are at least 2 others... You can tell they are in reverse order as he becomes more clothes.... Next vid he's in long pants but still no shirt, then they see what has to be the 1st or 2nd song of the concert and he even has a shirt on! A white ribbed tank top, but a shirt nonetheless!! Ha!
Your face at the beginning of the song when you realize it IS the song you were thinking of is priceless.
"Even I know that song. And I'm black!"
You crack me up, my man.
PS: The dude in the blue shirt and pants wrote this song. John Deacon. Gave up playing music after Freddie died. Made a few appearances and then retired. He and Freddie were great friends. Love for Deacy!!!!!
Yeah, Freddie and John scenario reminds me of Robert Plant and John Bonham close friendship from pre-Zep.
And developed the bass line with Niles Rogers..
@@CheysMama15 - Inspired by but not "developed with" Rogers.
@@susieq9801 actually it was Tony Thompson..
@@CheysMama15 - Wasn't it "Chic" inspired? Tony was their drummer I believe and Niles their guitarist producer. Basically Chic's funk style was admired by Deacon. I'm not too authoritative on funk. Cheers. :)
The bassist is now a quiet old English gentleman. The lead guitarist is an astrophysicist who contributed to the NASA Mars Rover program.
Sailor Dave - At least Deaky, the "quiet old English gentleman" did use his honors electrical engineering degree long enough to invent Brian's Deacy amp. He deserves to enjoy his life now. That was what he wanted. I'm happy for him.
Did you know the Royal Mail issued a set of stamps featuring Queen? Only The Beatles and Pink Floyd received that honor.
Deaky has, adorably, been married to his wife since 1975. They have six kids, and he wrote "You're My Best Friend" for her. He's a brilliant electrician, and built equipment for the band including an amp of his own invention. Brian May is a dedicated fox-and-badger conservationist, and released a version of the "Badger Badger Badger" meme song to protest badger culling. Roger Taylor has a wonderful old man beard, and his son is the drummer for The Darkness and Queen + Adam Lambert. Brilliant men all, as was Freddie.
What incredible minds, geniuses.
Talk about a big flex😂
"He's on his own planet, chillin'." Straight truth! Freddie Mercury was outta this world.
Lesley Grossblatt - Sadly, like Mercury, he flew too close to the sun and his wild ways led to his untimely death but he lived more in his 46 years than most people would in 100. A legend.
Absolutely agree
I should've gone to bed an hour and a half ago, but I can't stop watching your videos. I love your openness, appreciation, and feeling! Your videos are so joyful and they're making me appreciate these songs and artists even more than I already did.
SAME. 🙌🏼
I should be working
I'm glad to be retired cause I've become addicted to this channel & these awesome young men. Have lost track of number of days, 5 or 6?????
4 weeks later the same think in Germany 😅
Same!!
He was born to perform! Died too young...
RIP 🥀FREDDIE MERCURY🥀
Yes!
Yes, yes, YESSSS!!!
He is GREATLY MISSED!!!😇
I laughed so hard when you said this guy is way too comfortable on stage, He’s half naked 😂
christine brooks 🤷🏼♀️ he’s got a hat and bandana 😂
I just love when he watches the video! His reaction is priceless 😂
Those short white shorts were very popular in the 80s!! Lots of men wore shorts like that.
christine brooks lol! Strutting too!
@@peppermintcrush5794 Especially in Montreal!
“This man is too comfortable. He’s half naked on stage...” I was thinking the same thing! And u have to be confident and comfortable with those shorts, then throw in that prance!!! YAS!!!!! Takes real balls to rock it like that!!!!
And he's barefoot!
No lights, no glitter suits, no pyrogenics! Just raw talent without auto tune!
I wish we all could be as comfortable in our skins as Freddie was
Amen!
Preach
I agree💯
I love how many Queen songs are just so well known. It's a strong reminder of how amazing and talented Queen and Freddie truly are/were.
Freddie broke the mike stand early on, and liked the way it let him bring a mikestand with him everywhere, and have something to do with his hands.... he also gets a bit ... "naughty" with it in live concerts.
It's just a massive penis extension lol....... BRILLIANT!
The long pause look on your face priceless. Freddy would be loving every minute of it.
🤣😂🤣
It was truly awesome.
That long pause is everything! Lol
You think you were blown away over this song. Just think about how we felt, when we first hear this song, back in the day!!
#preach 🙌
I was a child then but I remember it was a hit on Rock, Pop and R&B radio stations. Me and my brother sang along with it in the car everyday.
It was one of my first 45s. I loved roller skating to this song!
Def! Another jaw drop for sure,!
I completely agree. I was 8 and my jaw dropped. When Freddie died, I missed him like I knew him. Still do. Today was his birthday
I don’t think there was one reaction you did when I didn’t yell “I love you!!!” at the screen. You’re my daughter’s age and you just make me happy. She also loves music. You are such an amazing generation! Young awesome humans!
I love how you said he’s on another planet, like Mercury or Pluto, but didn’t k know his name, which is Freddie Mercury. You hit the nail on the head!
If you think you know Another One Bites The Dust, then you definitely know We Will Rock You, and We Are The Champions! These are songs that will last not just years or decades, but centuries! I love watching your Queen reactions! Back in the day, every single board, light, stage etc., was owned by Queen and went around the world with them. It was their home away from home! You can always tell what part of the concert the song is in. When Freddie is fully dressed, it is the beginning, 1/2 dressed middle, almost nothing in...it's the encore! Grest Job!
Lolli Nelson this young man is getting through the Queen songs. He knows he’s listening to the best of the best
And then come on to the encore wearing an ermine stole and crown. Love, love, love Queen
Lolli Nelson :Bohemian Rhapsody....”mama just killed a man...” love it
Bicycle Race was one of my faves. And the very first music video I ever watched was their ‘I Want to Break Free’. So memorable!
Queen is without a doubt the best rock band ever!!! Freddie Mercury is a legend!!!!!!
The story goes that Michael Jackson (who was a huge Queen fan) persuaded Queen to pick this album song as a single. And it shot up to #1, not only in the single charts all around the world, but also in several black music Billboard charts.
Yep I'm black and my mother played this like it was the national athem. Also "We will Rock You".
I’m black and I still blast it. I remember I use to listen to the radio every morning while getting ready for school. This played on the soul radio station I was listening to and I went crazy. I was shocked to find out later it was a white group!!!
Your face when your realized it was his song.. yes- his is GOAT!! Love him! He is a legend.
The first time Freddie Mercury sang with Smile, Brian and Roger’s band, he couldn’t get the mic to come off the stand so he took it apart in the middle and it became his trademark. 💖
Freddie was the best front man EVER! John Deacon, the bass player wrote the song. Incredibly talented band. (Brian on lead guitar is an astrophysicist!)
"This man half-nekkid on stage!!"
Oh yes. Freddie was certifiable. Also possibly the single most talented male vocalist of all time, and I guess when you're that good, you get the right to go onstage in your underwear because at that point clearly the world has stopped making any sense, I guess? lol
Love watching your reactions to Queen songs. There's a long list of iconic Queen songs - Radio GaGa, Bohemian Rhapsody, Don't Stop Me Now, Somebody to Love, We Are the Champions, Under Pressure, Hammer to Fall, The Show Must Go On and These are the days of our Lives to name a few.
you're right - he IS a GOAT!
FYI if you ever have to do CPR on someone, play this song in your head and you’ll have the right rhythm for CPR
Play this song so they don't bite the dust? I see what you did there. Lol
mangojulie123 Ironically the Bee Gees song staying alive has the same rhythm and also works for CPR.
@@lesliesalvatori3030 Bwahaha! I see what you did there too. Now both songs are playing simultaneously in my head. Excellent remix! Lol
Just don’t sing it while you are doing CPR. It’s rude
Cheri Gauthier Lol. 😂😂
The thing with Queen is that they can all write, the bass player John Deacon wrote this. Queen is the only band where all members wrote a number 1 song
As soon as he hears the music and looks straight in the camera in disbelief...how many of us Queen fans just nodded our heads?
I was giggling the whole time when he was saying “if he made this song I’m gonna go bananas” lol too funny
This song is almost like early hip hop. Queen are the goats!
Michael Jackson had a hand in this being released to the radio. Seen them a few nights live and met them. Told them to release it - and they did
Mike knew a hit when he heard one!
John Deacon, the bassist, wrote this one... Queen is *all four* brilliant, legendary men. Really man, get to know them !
I’m Weak For Deaky All 4 winning Writer’s Hall of Fame Awards. The ONLY BAND that I had all four members write number one hit songs. The thing I loved about this band is that they had their own individual writing styles. John Deacon wrote from the bass & this is funky. Brian may move from the guitar and most of his songs were heavier and Freddie Mercury‘s vocals were in the tenor range versus his natural baritone. Roger route from the drums and came up with a radio gaga & others. I’m in love with my car!! That was because Rogers roadie bought an Alfa Romeo and he was in love with this car😂😂
I think every single Queen fan has a special place in their heart for Deaky. I know I do. Love that dude!
I’m Weak For Deaky really man - this is a young guy listening to music before his time. Give him a break !!!!
b Moss I wasn’t riding his case, I was recommending learning more.
@@JKM395 I remember the story about Queen in the recording studio. Freddie, Brian and Roger were arguing about something. When they got back in place, John had a left a note: Gone to Peru
Dude! You made a Mercury joke but you couldn’t remember his name?! 😝
Keep going, you’re one of my favorite reactors.
Thanks I appreciate it
Hearing this always makes me smile! When Freddie was dying, all the radio stations had a Queen CD ready to put in and, without choosing a track, just hit play. A DJ at Radio City in Liverpool, I can’t remember his name, was the one to play the disc after the announcement, I bet you can guess what’s coming...he put the disc in, pressed play and up came this one, I know Freddie would have laughed so hard 😂🤣
There's a reason why they made a whole ass movie about them.
I really enjoyed that movie
Great movie, watched it twice.
Comfortable on stage doesn't even cut it. The man is a legend! So glad you love it.
I’m dying laughing right now .. u crack me up 😂 he’s too comfortable.. lol 😂 my cat thinks I’m crazy laughing out loud like a fool ..
Dude!! This G. O. A. T. did it ALL. You can’t go wrong with anything Freddie Mercury- lead of Queen.
I had to look up what a goat was. Yep, Freddie, and Queen, definitely G.O.A.T.
I love how you are discovering all this music and putting all the pieces together in musical history.
@HappyPsychoBunny1 I was just thinking exactly the same thing!
Short shorts on men was very popular during that time all the way into 80s
Your appreciation of Queen is so authentic and beautiful, it warms my heart. I have spent the entire weekend watching your channel. Thank you for sharing your joy!!!
I fricken love you! You are CERTIFIED GOLD! Your reactions are just brilliant. I can't stop watching your clips
There was no air conditioning back then for these huge venues and it was HOT!!! Most bands stripped down as the concert went along.
He ain't queen, the band queen. Right and wrong. Freddy was THE queen, but also the king. Forever love for him and all the rest. Geniuses.
On a concert his mic stand broke. He went with it. It just became a thing after that
Totally epic! The one downside regarding the Montreal concert is that everyone knew it was going to be taped and the audience was told to behave, something that Queen didn't want. Their concerts are all about the audiences responding, singing along and participating. Lesson learned-when Queen tells you to sing along, do it! The Budapest and Wembley renditions of this, tie your mother down and tear it up are explosive!
He thrived on crowd interaction and they loved him for it!
When Freddie Mercury first started with Queen he broke the microphone when trying to take the microphone of the stand, he has always used this broken microphone ever since......❤
I had to stifle a giggle when the dude says: "...Even I know this song...and I'm black!" HAHAHA! Dude, music transcends ALL. Doesn't matter if you're black, white or sky blue pink...music speaks for itself! Love your YT channel. Just subscribed today after watching a clip of the twins' reaction to Phil Collins' "In the Air Tonight" on CBS news. Hilarious! Of course, I had to find your channel. Music gold. Keep it coming. Please listen to "LAYLA" by Derek and the Dominos with live reaction. Derek is Eric Clapton - pure classic gold and sick guitar. Thanks again!
I lost all morning watching him/them. Now been watching since 8pm, now 10:10pm :-D
I swear that if we used the two thing that bring people together MUSIC and FOOD . Just a big BBQ pot luck sort of thing it would be awesome
He also need to listen to the Simon and Garfunkel version of “Sounds of Silence “
Music does transcend through all races; however being honest, sometimes races are not as familiar with certain genres. I am about to start listening to Latin American music for first time, and I'm no spring chicken. None of my family or friends ever listened to it. I think based on race their could be barriers, and I think that is what he is referring to.
The only other person I’ve ever heard use the expression “sky blue pink” was my beloved grandfather. Loved reading it here! 💕
"Not trying to be interracial..." hahaha you are classic! 😀
I caught that too! Lol!
Back in the 70's this was my favorite song to have on while shootin pool, get into the groove and shoot with the beat. God, those were the days, I really miss em. You kids really missed out on a lot. Good that you can appreciate the musical legacy we left for you.
Gold? No babe. He is certified double Platinum!!! The best singer/entertainer that ever lived..imo!!!!
40 years later I realize he’s wearing a Habs cap on stage, love it! After all, they had won 4 in a row at the time leaving everyone else biting the dust.
I just found you and I am LOVING YOU! You are GOLD!
Hahaha your face is priceless!
You already know!!
pure GOLD Freddie mercury and Queen ❤
I was there when all this good music was coming out, and no matter if you were black white pink purple or green... You were rocking to Queen... LOL!
I remember when this first came out. Must have heard it hundreds of times on the radio that year. Still awesome, all these years later!
I'm so jealous that he gets to hear Queen for the first time . . .
Right? It was lost on me since my first experience with Queen was in 1981, and I was 5. Didn’t really faze me until Weird Al made his parody later on.
When this song came out, I was 10 years old,... I had the 45...that's a vinyl record...I used to put the speakers in my bedroom window and blast this song while riding my bike up and down the driveway. Now watching this young man discover this song, this band, in 2020,,... it's a fantastic feeling. The world might just turn out OK :)
You really tickle me!! I enjoy you so much, and your brother also. I bet your people are so proud of you!!
We named our cat Freddie Mercury. Your reaction to this video is priceless!
Why am I just now finding you guys?! YOU ARE WHAT WE NEED!!!! Thanks you guys! Keep it happening.
1970s and 80s. The man was a miracle. We all loved him. And the mic was one he had made for HIM. Cool.
Best of the best! The GOAT FOR SURE!!! LOVE Freddy, no Queen without him. Sadly missed. 💔
Love your full on emotional reactions to the music. Keep it that way!
Omg!😲 Wow this is cool how you know it already - but didn't know it was queen ! 😝
Love it!!!
"Another Queen..." Truer words were never spoken.
I can feel my roller skates going side to side dancing to this song
The bassist is the one who came up with the beat, and the song was heavily influenced by Black music. They were reluctant to release it, but Michael Jackson convinced them to.
Also check out Let’s Dance by David Bowie.
Roger Taylor, the drummer, is who you hear backing him up on the chorus vocals. Roger has a great voice, as does the lead guitarist, Brian May. If you haven't seen the movie "Bohemian Rhapsody," it's required viewing! You'll love it!
His real name starts with an "F" too lol, Farrokh Bulsara.
Cant stop watching you're reactions
Black folks loved that song ! He was a trained Opera singer !
No he never had any training. he was a natural taught himself.
Love the look!!! You're priceless.
John " Deaky" Deacon, the bass player wrote this.
I'm sure someone has already filled you in, but he had problems with a mic stand and just whipped off the base and sang with the mic and the boom. Became his trademark.
Me again. Lol. This was a 2day concert in Montreal and producers told the band they had to wear the same outfit both nights for editing. Well, everyone knows you don't tell Freddie how to stage a performance. So the second night was stripped down to short shorts and talent busting out the seams!
I’ve been so depressed lately. Watching your reaction brought happy tears to my eyes. Thank you and God bless your open mind.
Hang out with us for a while, let the different music, the reactions & all these positive comments lift your spirits.....it is very healing here
The world lost so much talent when we lost Freddie......he had so much more to give us. RIP
His mic stand broke during a performance early in his career and he was left with the top half of the stand and he liked being able to carry it around on stage like that, it gave him more freedom to perform.
Since you love Queen and Freddie so much, I think you'll probably also appreciate David Bowie. Maybe start with Under Pressure, which features both Freddie and David.
Love that yall listen to all the lives, so real
Lol. That look on your face at the onset of your listening. Priceless. Queen...amazing band.
The bass player actually wrote this song. They weren't going to release it as a single, but Michael Jackson talked them into it and it became their biggest hit
You should definitely do a live combo reaction of We Will Rock You / We Are the Champions (always played together!) There's a great set from this same concert in Montreal as well as from Live Aid in 1985, but if you do anything from Live Aid I suggest watching their whole 20-minute set! They have a ton of classics that almost everyone has heard. Aside from this, Bohemian Rhapsody, and the We Will Rock You / We Are the Champions duo (played at every sporting event, haha), there's a few others that people don't know are Queen (like "I Want It All", "Crazy Little Thing Called Love", "You're My Best Friend", "Fat Bottomed Girls", and even the theme song for Flash Gordon ("Flash! Ah-Ahh!") They had a ton of other amazing songs as well, of course, over 15 albums and 21 years. Definitely GOATs!
I always say this is the funkiest rock song ever made! He was in a class all his own.
Favourite QueenSong!!!!
"too comfortable" ... love it! Makes me nervous but, Freddie can do no wrong.... John Deacon, bass guitar -the guy in blue wrote it. Queen too fabulous. First time finding your reactions. Nice!
Freddie was such an amazing talent, lost way too soon.
This band has so many hits, you would be soooo surprised. Keep listening...and enjoying.
I can not stop watching and talking about these kids. Too much goodness, props to their momma and grandpa, rip
The mic is his signature. He broke a mic stand early on and just kept it.
Did he just say back in the old days lmao! Man I feel like a dinasour now lol.
Love your reactions. Keep them up. When you get a chance can you please react to some more Aerosmith and Poison- Something to believe in (music video)
Freddie Mercury sings, using the whole mike stand, because the first time he performed with the band( they sang "Keep Yourself Alive") The mike got stuck to the stand & he could not loosen it, so he took the whole thing! This became his trademark! I am not sure, but I think "Another One Bites the Dust" was written by John Deacon ( guitar player) ,but, the band eventually decided that ,since all of them wrote many songs that not one person would be credited, but all songs would be credited to the whole band, in the interest of solidarity! You ought to.check out the movie ,"Bohemian Rhapsody," It is pretty close to a lot of the
biographies I have read! In fact, I may be wrong, but I understand that it was produced by the remaining members of the band many years after we
lost Freddie!
Also, you might want to react to Queen's "Hammer to Fall "& " Don't Stop Me Now" ! You might enjoy them!
Great reaction!
Thanks for appreciating Queen!
I LOVE how much you love Freddie! ❤❤❤
"Everybody know that song.....even I know the lyrics to that song, bro......and I'm.....I'm black" Lol. Good for you! Now I'm hooked to your channel and yes, I subscribed!
Also check out David Bowie's Modern Love, Pearl Jam's Jeremy, Blondie's Rapture, Gladys Knight and the Pips" Midnight Train to Georgia, and Otis Redding's Try a Little Tenderness!
I felt the same way last year when I discovered Queen sung 🎵 'Crazy Little Thing Called Love'
My Dad played this song on repeat when I was a kid! A young black family in rural North Carolina spinning 45s on blast with the windows open! I love this song! I wonder were those old records are.
I love your reaction. You’re funnier than hell.😆
I was in HS when this came out....my favorite by Queen.
Freddie had an amazing ability to connect with the fans. One-of-a-kind talent.
This song was one of my favorite songs during the disco era. I use to love dancing to it.
