I’m heartbroken but also kinda saw it coming. I don’t feel too bad about the Giants losing this series against the Dodgers, a franchise that has played in 3 of the last 4 World Series. They’re too good right now. Overall an amazing year with many great moments, they just couldn’t quite overcome the current champions. Congratulations to the Los Angeles Dodgers and their fans.
Tip of the hat from this Dodgers fan. This series was the post season. Two great teams left it on the field. Had the giants won, I would have been disappointed but would still appreciate that it was such a great series. Respect.

The fact that the Dodgers fans love to talk about the Padres and hate on them is a sign of a rivalry. Real rivalry is not nice and polite. What the Giants and Dodgers have is competition which is not the same.

And he's been following this rivalry since he was 8 years old. He grew up a Giants fan. For 86 years he's been following this rivalry.

I’m a dodgers fan and this has to be one of the best playoff series in MLB history. Two teams with 100+ wins in the regular season and in the same division face off in the playoffs. And even more importantly being natural rivals. They pretty much were neck and neck all series long. Pretty much pitchers duels in every game. One of the most intense series I’ve ever watched. One to remember for ever. And to think this was just the division series. We all just witnessed history.
It really could've gone either way. Certainly was historic.
Some of you LA fans need to read up on the Yankees vs Sox playoff series' or the Yankees vs Royals as well. Those are the best. This Dodgers series was decent but only 5 games. MLB should make these 7 games if you really want to go down in history!

Man, this series deserved 7 games. Shoutout to the Giants! I love the rivalry and respect the Giants and their fanbase. I genuinely hope next season is a repeat of 2021 in the sense of the Dodgers and Giants battling for the division.
As do I! I especially wouldn’t mind seeing the Madres following at 3rd or 4th place.
The Padres or Dodgers were favored by everyone to win the division. Giants exceeded everybody's expectations this year by a mile and took the Dodgers to the final inning in the final game. As a Dodgers fan, nothing but respect. I'm sure the Giants will be just as tough next year.
That's it for the Giants this was their year to win. Now they will dismantle the team and become the next Chicago cubs.

As a Braves fan, the story of the year was the Giants. The Dodgers had an awesome season which only made the Giants story better. This series was fun to watch. I think the Dodgers are the best team left standing, and a Dodgers Astros World Series would be a gift to baseball...But...Don't fall asleep on the Braves, they eat other teams mistakes for breakfast, lunch and Dinner, and have been playing really good baseball for the second half. A all sports are about momentum and the Braves believe right now. I think this series took an emotional toll on the Dodgers and if they don't reset quickly they might get caught sleeping for the first two games of the next series...and that could cost them the season.
Baseball fans will never forget this. This series was one for the ages. What a time to watch these two great teams Duke it out neck to neck. GO DODGERS! I tip my hat to the Giants tho for an amazing season. 👏 what a series man! It was bound to come to a winner take all.

Good for him! He's always been my favorite Dodger. I really wanted the Giants to win this so I wouldn't have to root against the Blue. Braves are the team I grew up with but having lived in SoCal for several years the Boys in Blue grew on me. Gotta figure out how to wear my Braves & Dodgers caps at the same time. ;)
Postseason is a new season. Clean slate. But to be fair, he was plagued with injuries this season. He came off shoulder surgery, fractured his leg, fractured his rib, pulled his hamstring. He was actually turning it around to close the regular season. This shouldn’t surprise anyone, he’s a good player and former MVP.

Dodgers fan here and this match was honestly a coin flip and could've gone either way and just happy we got the side of the winning coin flip. Giants, despite being our historical rivals, I have an utmost respect for your team of how you have developed your squad as a most consistent team while spending half the payroll of the Dodgers. You guys were ruthless and we could not catch up with the standings to even take the lead. Most we have ever gotten was a tie. You guys are rivals I respect who have pushed us to do our best(hope u guys feel the same way about us). You guys are the reason why we had to step up our game when we were slacking off. Thank you for being our great rival. Let us meet each other again but this time, I hope we meet at the conference series instead of division series. For that to happen, one of us has to be division winner while not having the best NL record and other has to be a wild card and both win division series to meet at the conference series.

I really like the strategy of setup pitchers before Urías, and then the Scherzer close. What a game.

The strategy can also likely exhaust some of the other team's bench earlier and eliminate some pinch hitting match-ups late in the game-especially with a platooning team like SF.
That's why Dave Roberts is the best Manager in the game hands down.

Gutsy? Lol. It was always just an FU to Kapler. Waiting until the last minute to announce the starter. That meant LaStella and Slater get swapped. All it was of 4-5 innings of Julio to start or middle relief. The bullpen has been lights out this year and postseason and would have done the same before or after Julio. Nothing genius about this.
Roberts had nothing to do with pitching lineup,it came from Andrew Friedman and others from the analytic department

I'm a Dodger fan through and through, but that wasn't a swing. I'm sure that if it was called ball, it would have ended 2-1 anyway, but it just seemed like such and anticlimactic resolution to a big game with a lot of history and a lot on the line.

It took 70 years, but the Dodgers finally avenged Bobby Thomson's "shot heard 'round the world" from '51, returning the favor knocking the Giants out of the post-season. My mom, who used to go to Ebbets Field when she was a young girl, would've loved this.

I'm so sad the Dodgers beat the Giants 2 - 1, to win the NLDs and Lamonte Wade Jr almost hit, another shot heard around the world, the Dodgers were just better, congrats dodgers on being the better team, and winning the first playoff series between the giants and Dodgers, that will always be remembered by giants and Dodgers fans, good luck Dodgers all the way to the World Series!!!

That check swing call on Flores to end the game was just absolutely brutal, and Gabe Morales should feel ashmed that his incompetence ended such a magical year for the Giants. I'm guessing this was karma for what happened in July with Ruf's at bat at Dodger Stadium.

Scherzer is one of my favorites pitchers of all time, and to see him get revenge against the Giants is so satisfying to watch.
Respect to SF as a blue fan. This series was more nerve wrecking than any world series for me. One of these fanbases had to feel this pain. But this was as close as you can get to 2 evenly matched teams. Go blue!!!

They have a great farm system and have developed a lot of these players including Will Smith, Dustin May, Gonsolin, Bellinger, URIAS,Kershaw. They developed both Taylor and Justin Turner. They traded for so many players for exaple that reds trade was a robbery from the dodgers giving up players like Puig, Wood and in return some prospects in which they developed josiah gray. The only contract they got was Mookie betts for Verdugo and a few prospect and cash. David price has not deliver at all. You would think people would appreciate what the GM of the Dodgers has done and come out clutch.

An improbable playoff matchup. We got lucky to see this happen. I mean, it’s not only that it’s the Dodgers/Giants, it was also the two best teams in baseball. I hope in my lifetime I get to see this again. Congrats to the Giants, great season. And my Dodgers, hope we smash Houston.

The truth is that these teams were so closely matched that besides the technicality, saying one team was weaker going into the game is absurd.
