Welcome to the Man the Myth the LEGEND that is Tommy!!! This is going to be a fun rabbit hole for you to go down!!!! His cover of Skid Row's "18 and life" is awesome!!!!
Tommy is the lead guitarist for the band Sabaton and the lead vocalist/guitarist for the band Majestica!!! He is from Sweden and is a man of many talents. There is a whole lot to choose from as he puts out a new cover video every Friday plus his 2 bands!! Looking forward to watching your journey of him 😊
Tommy is awesome, can't go wrong choosing from his list. I love how he did this song & the video. Sabaton History Channel offers some fun insights of Tommy, mainly when Tommy guest hosts. He's quite a ham. All of Sabaton's videos are professionally done. To me, it's no surprise that his personal videos are as well. Tommy rocks!
Hi! So, Team Tommy alerted me to your channel today... I understand you're a former Marine? I'm an USMC widow, (Thank you for your service!) and Team Tommy promoter... I'm so happy you took a chance on Tommy today! So, Tommy Johansson is the co-lead guitarist in Swedish metal band Sabaton, fronts his own band, Majestica, and has a YT channel full of incredible covers...actually, they are song-upgrades! As suggested below..I am that person who wants to start you with a song that shows off the best of Tommy's talents... musically (not just a guitarist, Tommy is a multi-instrumentalist and plays all the music for his videos), vocally (I hear that you like Dan...but he can't do what Tommy can do!) And Tommy has a very fun personality! Therefore, I highly recommend that you check out his cover of Steelheart's She's Gone. Followed by literally anything on his channel that catches your eye...its all fantastic! Some highlights are You Raise Me Up (One Octave Challenge), Bohemian Rhapsody, The Light, 20yr remake, and any of his unbelievable Gary Moore covers! Hope to see you again real soon!
@twiztidwhiskeyreactions358 Yes sir...just like there is a Nightwish Army, a Sabaton Squad...there is a Team Tommy, that supports and promotes his work here on YT! It's a fun rabbit hole to discover!
@user-ud8cm1fr6l Ty Kent! No worries...its been some years since his passing. I think I'm drawn to the music I am with that same feeling of wanting to introduce him to it...bc when we met, he had terrible taste in music! I immediately took him to a Ramones concert!
I get so happy when I see new people reacting to Tommy! Welcome! This is just a small taste of his talent, so much more to hear! Most will suggest "She's Gone" to start and that IS a great beginning, but my favorites are "The Light", "Over the Hills and Far Away", and "Who Wants to Live Forever"! Thanks for reacting to Tommy, I will return for more and subscribe! ❤
Love my Tommy J ❤ He is from Sweden, 6'5", and is brilliant. His Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen is unbelievable! Check out his channel. He's very accomplished. Great reaction as usual ❤
Oh that Tommy 🤣 .. He do have a lot of more “common” metal videos with just him and his many instruments (mainly guitars .. the man is a guitaraholic 😂) Tommy is an amazing singer but also a multiinstrumentalist ( guitars, bass, keyboard and drums .. also some non metal ones .. like recorder, mouth harp and accordion ) .. the first studio album he released at age 20 he did everything on .. all vocals .. all instruments .. much as in his solo covers here on YT. He have a wide range of covers not always the biggest hits but the music that intrigues him .. all stunning (more a matter of personal preference) .. true tributes to important metal/rock song ( eagles fly free, over the hills and far away, 18 and a life, alone, I’ll never let you go, who wants to live forever.. the list goes on and on and on (and so will I if I’m not getting a hold of myself) 😇 .. but I would also recommend looking at some of the songs he metalize the crap out of (power metal up that is .. sooo melody and clean vocals is very much a thing) .. they are soo fun basket case, anti-hero, viva forever, the sun is shining ( his latest cover) are in that category Otherwise I will recommend the cover of in his own original song “the light 20 year celebration” written around 15 years of age ( maybe even 14) first recorded at 18 and released on his first album ( he has released 8 albums with original songs and 2 cover albums in addition to the covers he does on YT .. If you only listen to one song from Tommy and nothing else ever again .. the light 20 years … is the song you should listen to
@@user-ud8cm1fr6l i learned the hard way in comments that that was the correct English word for “blockflöjt” wooden flute.. flute was not specific enough 🤣 .. forgot completely about the harmonica
Welcome to Tommyworld. Beside Dan Vasc the best metal vocalist out there. Tommy upgrades every song he does, metalizing it just the right amount. Just chose anything, it's all good. Why not check out his band Sabaton as well. Tommy only does the backvocals there, as they have a very unique original singer, but he plays a mighty guitar there. You might start out with their song Devil Dogs, the lyrical video.
So much Tommy to choose from...where will you go from here...anywhere is fine. All he touches turns to gold. Have fun going down this very deep rabbit hole. It's a fun ride. Subbed and waiting for more.
I first saw your reaction to Pentatonix's 90's Dance Medley and I got to searching your reactions and see that you do Tommy Johansson too! I can't get enough of either one of them. We're gonna be friends. I subscribed for so much more great music!!! (I see the Meatloaf reference but I know Tommy hates it.)
SABATON - En Livstid I Krig (Live - The Great Tour - Gothenburg), shows a great concert, with Tommy's guitar solo. (You can check out the English version). Christmas Truce is a Sabaton masterpiece, and Tommy plays a French soldier in the WW1 trench warfare. Here's a brief list of more: His other band, Majestica's Christmas Carol. Tommy's cover of Twisted Sister's The Price. His covers of She's Gone and I'll See You in My Dreams. 500 miles is great. All his videos and music are wonderful. And for a break, you can watch his video on Swedish cooking, how to make Palt (it's easy and good:) As someone in the Sabaton and Tommy rabbit hole, with no plans to climb out, I've come to think a better metaphor is one of those huge caves, with openings to the sky and the ocean, casting beams of light and glittering with gems. All very fascinating.
I am not a country fan but I like your reactions and you have been reacting to some of my favorite singers like Dan and Tommy. So I am subscribing. Keep on rockin' !!!!
if you like Dan Vasc you going to like Tommy... as i say to my buddies, Dan in Brazil's Tommy, and Tommy is Sweden's Dan :D a good start is Shes gone, and also Murder in the sky... have fun with it :) doing a greta job // Sweden
If you're looking for another Phantom of the Opera metal cover, check out the Nightwish rendition, live in Amsterdam last November: czcams.com/video/TM23gaT4zkY/video.html This cover was performed live in front of 17,000 people and the man singing the role of Erik previous played the role on the Dutch stage for about 600 performances. An interesting link to Tommy's performance, the woman (Floor Jansen) singing the role of Christine in the Nightwish version is married to the drummer of Sabaton, a bandmate of Tommy. Also Tommy has collaborated with Floor in producing covers as well as Floor singing on Sabaton songs. Metal is a small world.
Tommy doesn't like to be compared to Meatloaf. Once he asked us fans for suggestion of songs to cover. But he wrote "please, not "I'd Do Anything for Love" by Meatloaf". And got responded by a commenter: "Could you please do I''d Do Anything For Love, by Meatloaf." That comment got a lot of likes, too.
@@yvis8697 Meatloaf was pretty raw that he didn't get to do the song. But Steinman said the song was never intended for Meatloaf: he wrote it for Bonnie.
yeah he DID do a song once without even realizing, it's all coming back to me. i even joked ''haha you said you wouldnt do that. you just did. '' he gave me a heart and a laughing emoji@@yvis8697
Whatever you choose from Tommy you cant go wrong, every song is an upgrade from the original.
He seems really good!

Don't forget his rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody!

The correct phrase in Australia is" no worries mate" But you can always introduce me to American music or whatever you like.

His cover of Skid Row’s 18 and life is my favorite. I never thought anything could beat the original but I think he did.
I have it on the list for sure

Recorder is that another word for harmonica, never heard it, strange.

Aha thanx, recorder, such a strange name but now I have learned something new, we never discussed recorders, just silverflutes.
The light by Tommy is fire

Just based on this one, I bet he is going to be fun to react and listen to!
Sabaton is worth being checked out. I propose SABATON - En Livstid I Krig (Live - The Great Tour - Gothenburg) .
With subtitles.
Thanks so much

Murder in the sky by Gary Moore, was covered by Tommy just recently on Gary's original guitar! Recommend!
good reaction!
he is cooooool👍
Thanks so much
Dan does an excellent job on this song as well
If you need to cleanse the tear canals check out his version of Sound of silence.
I also vote for Majestica Above the Sky. It’s such a great song.
this is Floor Jansen from NIGHTWISH Phantom of the Opera THE BEST OF ALL
Shes gone cover from Steelheart is a must listen to with Tommy.. trust me.. you WONT be dissapointed 🤘🤘🤘

Incidently he already did Meatloaf, if by Meatloaf you mean Jim Steinman: Total Eclipse of the heart.
@@yvis8697 Meatloaf was pretty raw that he didn't get to do the song.

Porque se mueve tanto y a cada momento se limpia la nariz?
