It's funny how I find myself becoming immediately defensive of Tim when someone presents a opposite take on politics. 🤔 I suppose the best compliment I can give is this. I am heavily in Tim's corner when it comes to politics just as I am heavily in Yankees corner when it comes to God. The fact that they center around precious metals is icing on the cake. 😉

That's the biggest issue is people who think they are smart tend to believe everything that they hear immediately, if it comes from a source they trust. In NY state, any transaction of PMs of $1000+ is tax free, whether it's in person or online. It's mandated by NYS legislature. If you go to a local coin show, you can buy whatever you like, I was never charged sales tax.

Lessons learned! I went cashless a few years ago! After about 2 weeks of this. I was in the grocery store and was in the middle of checking out! The power went out! Well they still had power because of generator. But the card reader didn't work. A very kind woman in line gave me $20 for my purchase. I now always have cash on me now!
I work retail and its often that the power goes out, cash is needed for the world to keep moving we are nowhere near ready for even the EVs, I still get regular brownouts, muddy power, and days where I have no power. yet people still think cash is dumb and a waste then complain when the power goes out and can't pay with their card.
Have had several similar occurrences, even if power doesn't go off internet issues screw up card readers.
If we go to a digital currency you could always barter your trade for gold and silver.

Honestly I feel like he's been put in a liberal environment and was forced to fit into it. Maybe rebelled or chose to be "different" than his father helped that along. But he was probably always conservative at heart.

ANY economy that goes cashless will collapse. The percentage of GDP "under the table" in all parts of the world is staggering.
If that earning and spending were suddenly eliminated, the ripples would be felt everywhere.
Why do you assume it would be eliminated, rather than continuing in the cashless system? (I'm not arguing this point, just want to understand why you'd assume it).
Many "under the table" people I know are doing it to benefit themselves by avoiding taxes/etc. But if their only choice was making zero vs entering a cashless system & paying taxes, they'd enter the system because it is better than zero. They may also resort to barter, but they wouldn't stop working.

When I was in the Economics school in the 80's we were taught ALL the different economic theories and schools of thought. When we graduated, 90% of us were Libertarians' and subscribed to the Austrian school of thought. After being exposed to them all, there really was no better way of allocating resource and labor than the free market. Anyone peddling any other system is nothing but a fool professing to be wise....

Australia owns all new zealand supermarkets. For some time there are less and less pay by cash self service check outs. Lately they are always out of service.
I suggested to the manager they should have more cash check outs, and he said "hey man cash less society didn't ya know" "it's not us it's from management in Australia".

In 1985 Engelhard also minted fractional prospector rounds.....1/10, 1/4 and 1/2 ozs, with the 1/4 oz versions having the lowest mintage numbers.

Wow, that’s a great deal for those Prospector rounds! I believe they were minted from 82-87 with an “E” or Eagle reverse depending on the year. Fortunately, Texas is a big state with plenty of room for those of us that enjoy life outside of the big cities. Another great video Yankee!

In the UK there is no tax on gold sales, but there is 20% tax on silver unless you hold it in storage - but then the tax has to be paid when you get it out of storage :-/
