There's over 1000 pokemon in the national dex, and we're still using rockruff, corsola, and vullaby as incense exclusives. The variety could be so much better, the options are out there.

I'm a bit sad that once again the Nordic countries are being overlooked as possible locations for go fests or proper safari zone events... I get that some people may think we're remote, sparsely populated and have a cold climate year-round, but we actually have decent metropolitan areas with parks, good international airports, and summer temps are usually between 15-30°C where I live at least (Norway). Everyone speaks English, and most cities are relatively safe. I think we'd be able to pull off a big event, given the chance...
If I was a betting man I would say cities probably have to pay Niantic to bring these events to them, obviously they would do an estimate of how many they'd expect and it probably just isn't as big here in Europe as it is in the states and so probably wouldn't have as big a return.

It's disheartening to see how exorbitant ticket prices for events have become. It seems like the primary focus for companies is solely on maximizing profits, disregarding the affordability for the average person. While I understand the concept of supply and demand, there comes a point where we must reconsider our priorities and not let greed dictate every decision. It's time to strike a balance between profitability and fairness, ensuring that everyone has access to the experiences they desire without breaking the bank.
Word, haven’t spent money on this game since 2021. I’d recommend other stop spending so this company can take the hint that their ways of promoting events aren’t a positive direction to go in.
If everyone had access to the experiences they desire regardless of what’s in their bank account, why would anyone work?
I don’t like the prices, either, but making money is the main point of most businesses. If people will pay it, they will charge it.
They have to make up for the decisions they have made with the game over the last few years.

I think they’re doing GoFest in Japan early this year because they realized people collapsing from heatstroke (like in Osaka last year) isn’t the best for the players or the game.

Fun fact, a while ago I saw in gbl when looking at the cup restrictions and saw that Necrozma was not allowed, it confused me that it was there since it’s not yet in the game, but since then I knew they had to be releasing it not too much later. And now, we’ve probably got it coming out with Go Fest 😎 (I’m incredibly excited)
4th of july week end in a very expensive city to vist. On kayak the cheepest room is $185/night

Would really appreciate a ticketed in-person event in the Midwest. We haven’t had any since the end of 2021, and those were originally scheduled for the first half of 2020.
More people live on the coastlines of the various countries of the world. As a consequence of larger populations, the coastline cities have the infrastructure to support a sudden influx of gamers, too.
@@Dragonologist There are plenty of midwestern cities that have the infrastructure, including major airports and public transit systems designed to handle major events.
The issue is that we've had about 21 fixed location events since 2021 so not a lot of opportunity to cover all the bases. And we had 3 GO Fests in Chicago and a Safari Zone in STL, so it's not like we're underrepresented here. Gulf states should probably get one before we get another, just within the US. And other countries are even more underrepresented.
Don't get me wrong, I was disappointed when Chicago got dropped and I was excited when STL was announced, but we've been treated fairly in the Midwest as far as events in reasonable driving range.

I’m going to ny Saturday in the morning! It’s gonna be my first ever person event, as I started right before the ub arrival back in nov 2022. Can’t wait!
Gutted to see Madrid spawns (which will be my only accessible one if any) are largely similar to London last year. Both the other 2 getting the frillish spawns which are shinies I really want but for some reason Madrid doesn't get them 😭
As Australian I'd really like to see more things either included in the global go fest or maybe an event in the country. Missing out on things like klefi all the time gets very disenchanting. It means I will never be able to complete my dex unless I get lucky and bump into a random stranger that has one to trade.
Also in the ticket information it says that there will be extras in a different version and that if you buy this one you won't be able to access them. But it doesn't say when the other ticket will be available meaning you are just in limbo waiting. Same with the wonders ticket for this theme it says basic ticket and not to buy if you want the extras but there is no information anywhere about what those are. And as that has timed research waiting an unknown time is frustrating
It's also $23 AUD and I don't see $23 worth of value if you don't get all the pokemon. For that price, I'd want GUARANTEED shinies and some exclusive Pokemon, not just a chance of it and some fairly average spawns.
@mp4986 yeah it's very expensive and if you get bad luck with shinies what value are you left with. I really think adding in the klefi and the chance at regionals you normally can't get would make the value a lot better.

You should do a lay through of Ultra Sun or Ultra Moon. That gen is pretty fun and the last handheld Pokémon games had great quality of life improvements.

We loved London GF last year. Yet again, New York gets another Go Fest but UK and Europe aside from Spain totally overlooked..I found the park experience last year forgettable, but the City experience really made it... why can't Niantic just do a City Experience Gofest for the largest 2 cities in each major country. That would only retire them to set the Geo tags, wouldn't require staff in person and millions more can benefit from the experience.... the only bright note this year is that the global ticket gives us all increased shiny rates, unlike the Tours last month...
You might not have finished Gen 7, but you were honestly pretty spot-on about what I like to call the Nebbycrozma forms. They really are just Necrozma fused with Solgaleo/Lunala. Basically, Necrozma consumes light, and Solgaleo and Lunala generate light, so it kinda absorbs them into itself. I'm simplifying it somewhat here, but the point is, you got the general idea already. Also, I'd recommend finishing Gen 7 sometime. Underrated games.

When I heard the NYC dates, I immediately put it for PTO...which was immediately rejected because it July 4th weekend. I'm hella bummed.
$15 is ridiculously expensive. Other than Marshadow, Maractus (new worldwide regional release), timed research, and a marginally higher shiny rate, the value is just not worth it. I will not be buying a ticket this year.
18 raid passes (9 a day) is very nice as long as they raids aren't lame. I think that with the bonus, the shiny rate is enough for me because ill use all the passes

I always thought with the dragon event that happened around Valentine's Day they were gonna release shiny Jangmo-o. To me would of made sense since it being dragon and the shiny has a pink heart on it 🤷🏼♂️
Can someone explain how the tickets work?? I plan on doing all three days in New York City and it’s only allowing me to pick 1 day (Friday) but it’s an option to add the other 2 days (Saturday and Sunday) for $20 each?? Do I choose all 3?
Would love to see Nashville added as a city in the future as it looks like a blast and is significantly more affordable.
NYC and Chicago are more accessible to travellers than Nashville.

Smaller cities don’t have the infrastructure to support a huge event. Roads get clogged, not enough parking, not enough public transport, not enough beds/rooms, etc.

Everything about the event points towards something like Necrozma - then we're also getting the remaining Ultra Beasts this Season. Now, the Season does end right before GO Fest, but I still think Necrozma could be likely

We were excited to potentially go to NYC…but over 4th of July weekend? Hella expensive and my friend that lives in Brooklyn will probably have plans that weekend, so can’t even stay with her. Sigh.
