  • Bullet Cars: Before there was the modern term "light rail", high speed trolleys connected metropolitan areas. GE Engineer Malcolm Horton describes the trolley between Gloversville/Johnstown, Amsterdam, and Schenectady, New York. He tells the story of using the trolley as a boy, then follows it to new service in Ogden, UT and finally to the Orange Empire Railroad Museum in California.

    You are so right Sir, those Brill 'Bullets' were built for speed! The one's used on Philadelphia's Red Arrow Suburban lines were retired in 1993, and ours were third rail and double ended, the seats used to flip back and forth, depending on the direction. nice to see that they were used in Johnstown.

    The Brill bullet cars were really high speed interurban cars .

    ugh changing this city into a car oriented hell was such a setback thankfully we have electric vehicles, but i'd love if there was more transit in this country. Buses are not the answer.. what is the point of transit that is subject to traffic.
