Poch is massively underrated. He is actually improving players across the team. Us fans are all clamouring for him to move on but forget how dismal last season was under four (!) different managers. Difficult to say that any other manager would've done better with this squad. He had recognised that the squad is young and mentally fragile thus shielding the squad from criticism by taking the blame. Other managers with the so-called "winning mentality", as we so desire, would've probably hung these players out to dry in the media either to save face....the team needs time and more importantly Poch needs time!

@ol-Sean-lo and he hasn't missed 1 penalty. Consider his age and it's a new club (new teammates and manager), new city, first year in a premier league club as a starter. I would say he's definitely a contender especially considering the huge impact he has had in getting Chelsea points this season to push themselves up to 6th/7th.

But you saying that Palmer scored 10pens. It is a skill to score a penalty. Watkins does not take penalties cause literally he can't score them, that's why he does not take. So why you blame Palmer scoring penalties, if for example, Watkins could score them too, but can't :)

The highlight today was the quality of performances we could have had all season with key players being fit and available. Our mental fortitude as regards coming back from behind of recent as been impressive. It shows this team have the stones to get results when it matters, sad we didn't have this much earlier.
One has to give credit to players like Caicedo who's contributions in the team can be overshadowed by prettier performances from forwards like Cole Palmer. His off the ball work is superb, and his on the ball ability; technical ability, ball distribution, is top notch.
The likes of Sterling and Nkunku need to be starting the rest of the games, we need to start and finish games strong, not chasing a win at the 80th minute with the likes of Mudryk and Noni being subpar for a huge chunk of the game.
Staying fit and being available is an ability, and his lack of that ability pretty much negates everything else.
Palmer easily the flavour of the year, blessed the lad is fair play
Surely the sensible thing to do is play Rice and Bellingham in central midfield with Saka, Foden and Palmer in front and then Kane at the tip. Very hard to argue with that front 6.

If james can stay fit then he is the best rb in the world
if theres a word to describe him best it's efficient. he doesnt hold or run with the ball for too long. once he received the ball, he knew what to do with it. and the weighting on the pass/shot were always executed in great precision. its not an exaggeration when people says its cole palmer that carried his whole team this season. because at the moment in chelsea we're lacking everything he's good at. composure, confidence, and quick decision making.

Honestly, Reece is better than both Walker and Trent combined. Thiago Silva, who's one of the greatest defenders ever and has played with and against many great players has said in an interview that Reece can become one of the greatest players of all time. Crazy good player.

Most of the journeys criticize Caicedo but when he shows what is capable of nobody says nothing. James and Chillwell are Chelsea's best weapons. Last time they played consistently together, Tuchel was walking towards a PL title during the first half of the season. It's been almost two years, and these two players are still not playing together due to their injuries.

cole palmer or declan rice is signing of the summer 2023. cole palmer has been unbelievable since he joined chelsea, hes single handedly dragged them this season and who knows where chelsea would be without him. People call him a penalty merchant but I couldnt care less hes literally in a golden boot race with haaland. As for declan rice, hes elevated arsenals midfield and hes gone up a level and a massive reason why arsenal are doing better than ever is because of him. Declan rice is essentially the xhaka replacement

Im not saying reece james is the best right back in the world, but there is no one who can do what he does as a whole package going forward and defending, IMO. Especially in the England set-up.

I believe Reece James and Kyle Walker to be the best 2 right backs in the premiership. However as a Chelsea man I think we should sell Reece because it doesn't matter how good a player you are if you're never fit. Every season if we get him fit for more than 5 games in a row it's a miracle.
I think the his injury problem due to excessive muscle.. Try compare his body during his early years as first team player vs current him.. The same things happened with joe gomes of liverpool before.

The hamstring injury is from not having the surgery he should have had last year. Now that he has finally done it, it shouldn't be a problem, thats according to his surgeon who is one of the best in the world.

Chelsea fan here but I would still start foden on the right but palmer can play as 10. It can work for him his play Style kinda suits him in 10 too. But again with Southgate i don't see any fire in the team.
Cole Palmer has been very good for Chelsea in his first season at the club.
If he does it again in 2024/2025, then he'll have earned the 'great' title.

It is not for first season. Only those with * are first seasons. So only andy cole, Salah (2017/2018), klinsmen, and Palmer are first season. The rest of the list is player with 20+ goals and 10 or more assists in a season since the start of the premier league in 1992/1993. These are the only players who have done it.

It's a different comparison. I'd argue salah and kdb weren't as good as palmer was when he left. I'm not claiming he'll be better I'm just saying the level palmer was at was higher when he left city than when salah and kdb left chelsea. However like kdb did, I admire anyone who believes in themselves enough to seek game time. He could have stayed at city and easily won more trophies but he wants to feel like he actually contributed instead of being a passenger.
