ABOUT NOCD
Are you overwhelmed by disturbing, repetitive thoughts that you don't want to be having? Do these thoughts center on things you care about, or values that you hold as an individual? Have they forced you to stop doing things you used to enjoy, or being around people you love?
If this sounds like you, you might be living with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder - an intense anxiety disorder characterized by unwanted intrusive thoughts (obsessions) and fear-minimizing behaviors (compulsions). In this series, OCD advocate and NOCD founder, Stephen Smith, will walk viewers through the recommended treatment for OCD: Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy. He'll bring on doctors, sufferers and friends to explain the process and shed light on their experiences with recovery.
ABOUT MADE OF MILLIONS
The Made of Millions foundation is a global advocacy nonprofit on a mission to change how the world perceives mental health.
Each year, millions of people around the world are diagnosed with a mental health condition. People of every age, country, gender and ethnicity. Millions more go undiagnosed, and are forced to battle their symptoms without the care and support they deserve.
As sufferers, we know their pain. We know the isolation they experience at the hands of cultural stigma. We know the anger they feel at media outlets who misrepresent their conditions. And we know the frustration they have with healthcare systems that make it impossible to find help. The Made of Millions Foundation wants to heal this pain.
Using the power of art, media and digital technology, we’re on a mission to transform how the world perceives mental health. And in doing so, create a safer and more inclusive future for sufferers everywhere.

I always say I would love to give speeches to educate schools. From elementary school to high school! I would guarantee those kids are gonna be sitting there that have it, and that it will help. I could only imagine how many suicides are from OCD that we don’t know of. People don’t understand it even if you try to explain it. A lot of kids probably think they are crazy and don’t tell anyone. IT NEEDS TO BE SPOKEN ABOUT SO MUCH MORE as well as any mental disease. Thank you guys so much for doing this!
It is so great to see this! I am 51 and suffered since a child in different forms. It takes away years of my life. SSRI medicine has helped tremendously. But I have become immune to them.
Thank you Stephen and Aaron for all the Education about OCD. I'm 55 years old now and had unset of OCD at 22.10 years of age. I've suffered for 32 years until I found Paroxetine at .20 mg and ERP. The tools I have now have helped about 80 percent of my symptoms but it took like over a year of therapy. Good luck to all sufferers you can recover.
As parents of a beautiful 12-year-old daughter in England who suffers from OCD - in therapy - we are so, so grateful to all of the people who help research, educate and help treat this horrendous illness. On behalf of so many sufferers and carers, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Aaron, you are a gift to so many - thank you!
Aaron Harvey's work in OCD is absolutely brilliant
Aaron is right on very smart on the process of OCD in regards to the business etc.
Can anyone comment on ERP as far as it working? I am 51 and suffered since a toddler. I can’t imagine people not giving me reassurance because the anxiety gets so bad I would do anything to take that anxiety away
My OCD and constantly repeating insecurity questions to people is driving them nuts. People say I keep asking the same questions until I hear what I want to hear. I don’t see it as that. Have you heard of this?? it’s like I constantly have to prove myself to prove my point
Ty for this video ,, being a pure o sufferer myself from the uk,,
What about low dose naltrexone.
