The Addams are descendants of the Spain aristocracy and insanely wealthy so money is no object for Wednesday. In the 60s show Gomez throws money around like it's nothing. Also in the 90s movies.
There's a website for the wealth of fictional characters and the Addamses are worth $7.5 -$8.5 billion. Would take the Luthor, Wayne, and Queen fortunes combined to equal. Helps when Gomez is a lawyer , a superb litigator who can practice practically anywhere in the world and also has patents and investments worth $10s of millions.
The lady in the truck who dropped of the guy in the beginning sounded like she has a Vermont Yankee accent. Jenna's stunt double looks a lot like her. There are also some Easter Eggs from the original TV Show. The Addams Family had pet piranhas, on the show, that they would feed, and they would toss out the cleaned bone. The person who was in the book was a Pilgram.

I like the show; HATE that Wednesday perpetuates the lie that the Pilgrims committed genocide when their leader famously approached the natives unarmed and negotiated a peaceful coexistence. Especially when violence seems to be Wednesday's go to solution to her problems!
There's the John Smith/Pocahontas thing. Of course exactly how many Pilgrims were there, maybe a sect that didn't land at Plymouth, went farther inland, maybe were outcasted by the Plymouth group.
The reason the Addams Family doesn't get "hurt" is because they're based off the comic strip. They're essentially cartoon characters.
