    In the Netherlands the priority rule with the roundabout is the same. However it is recommended to use the outer lane for the first exit and for going straight. When you have to go further than 12oclock you take the inner lane and after the 2nd exit you move back over to the outer one to exit. Almost all roundabouts have one or two lanes. You are required to use an indicator when you exit the roundabout, or when you change lanes in the roundabout. If your exit is further than the second exit you approach the roundabout in the inner lane and signal, so it's clear you are staying on the roundabout until you pass the entrance of other people.
    Most roundabouts don't have dedicated lanes for exiting the roundabout, except so called turbo roundabouts. In that case the lanes are clearly marked before you enter. Also on turbo roundabouts there is a raised curb between the lanes of the roundabout.
    It would be interesting to seeing you drive in different countries, like The Netherlands. Also I would like to see you drive in Germany (on the autobahn unlimited speed) or other countries in general. Maybe you could partner with some CZcamsrs in those countries. Sounds like a cool idea!

    For the roundabout priority or “preference”, you are allowed to stay in the outer lane because, at least in France where I live, there are no directions written on the road itself like a lot of roundabouts I see in your videos, so if you don’t know where you’re going because there was no sign or you’ve missed it, then you can stay in the outer lane to read the signs. Most of the time you do know where you’re going so you select the right lane accordingly though

    He seems like a great driver, doesn't have any of the typical bad habits that experienced drivers pick up, but SLOW DOWN! Just because a road's speed limit is 30 doesn't mean you have to drive exactly 30 all the time, he's zooming and flying by things so fast. Like I said he seems like a great driver, but you don't know how good other drivers are and when you come flying at them like that they may not expect it and that may cause issues, whereas if he was driving a bit slower like 25-26 it would give other people a chance to react.
    Also, YES! 11:45 That is NOT a roundabout, roundabouts do NOT have lights, if a there is a circular intersection with lights it's a Traffic Circle and NOT a roundabout.

    • @seaweedseaside5905
      @seaweedseaside5905 Před měsícem

      I wish I could do less than 30 on a 30, but in practise if you do 26 on a 30 (or 35 on a 40) the drivers behind you will start tailgating you and acting like idiots. So, that's why everyone does 30 on a 30 and sometimes you still need to deal with the idiots.

    I noticed he rests his foot on the clutch. He sometimes presses it down for no reason like when he went over the bumps but didn’t change gear. And coasting leading up to the roundabout

  • @nielsmertens6387
    @nielsmertens6387 Před měsícem

    Hello, I'm from France and I've learned engine breaking. I was wondering why all people you make videos with never really engine brake but sometimes do climb down the gears without getting the clutch up in each gear (coming from a 90km/h to a round about for example).
    Driving like this would be called "roue libre" in France. So why don't people engine brake and why change down gear by gear with the clutch in?
    Great day to you all!

    Spain has roads like glass. If it rains the roads can be like ice. Just back from Spain on training camp 2 cyclist in the group crashed with a bit of confusion. No cars luckily. Involved, but whilst waiting and organising things to get the riders picked up. The police turned up as someone had reported an accident with cyclist and possible car which it wasn't. Then the ambulance turned up and took 1 of the riders to get checked as they had suspected broken shoulder . This was all within 10 minutes and no phone call to the emergency services other than a passing motorist. Ive always treated roundabouts in Spain when cycling same as the uk in mirror image. No way on earth would i cycle round the outside to make a left turn. Move orer in the left lane tellls all the following drivers im going left and doesn't cause confusion. When you cycle in spain the drivers use the roundabout as an opportunity to pass cyclist in the left lane . If i was to stay i the right and go past the first exit and the cars are going straight. It isn't going to end well . I dont know spanish highway code but sounds like a bit of confusion . Different example say when joining the motorway the car on the slip the biggest responsibility to make sure its safe, but the traffic on the motorway shouldn't deliberately put the joining traffic in danger say by speeding up and blocking entry on purpose. Im pretty you can driving round the outside lane endlessly. Its more the exiting vehicle has to make sure its safe to exit and cant put orher traffic in danger. The same as when joining the motorway the vehicle on the slip road cant put traffic on the motorway into danger. What you do find in Spain when walking is that drivers are really good at giving pedestrian priority at junctions. Not that you take it for granted.
