Yeah, it feels ass going against him (specially as tank). And it feels ass having him on your team, specially as a support, and tangentially as a DPS too, because he takes up so much resources from your own supports that it's so much harder to get supported as a DPS if you need it. If I'm playing support and get a Mauga on my team, I have to make a constant, conscious decision to check in on him every 3 seconds, cause if I try to flank or frag he just dies immediately, even if the other support is an Ana or Moira that's behind him 24/7. It's ass.
A 600hp hero doing bastion turret dmg, soldier accuracy with a self heal/rein charge. This man can do 18k dmg a game if the opposite team has a hog/orisa. Games not developing tanks anymore, they are developing overpowered/enlarged DPS's.

@@markpena6511 just play as ana/zeny if you're a support main, sigma/zarya and maybe dva if you're a tank, for dps hanzo,torb or any mid/long range char to counter him, depends on your skill too, i play a lot as mauga and and I suffered a little to fight against these heroes tho
If you play him right, nade doesnt even matter that much. If you dive an Ana comp, he suffers. But he has good poke potential. When people quit running him down mid and trading ult charge with the enemy team, and actually start poking he plays much better.
I would love to hear your basic approach to left click vs right click vs both. Seems like you use both within like 15m and alternate when further to try to keep the burn going but hard to tell. I also have no idea when to use his E ability. Looking forward to more vids!
mauga is actually very easy to play into, he just has insane numbers. if he doesn't have cardiac his brawl potential goes down A LOT. especially once they tune him back. i think he'll probably be beside sigma as a poke tank. i think thats where he REALLY shines. he's kind of a reverse hog where instead of having higher brawl potential with some poke, he has higher poke potential with some brawl. he's really cool in concept.
His range is insane for a tank as well. Like being up close and having good damage is one thing, but he’s out dueling dps from across the map lol. Def a bit overtuned. Esp with the new Kiri buffs, I thought hog was hard to kill but this guy take the cake. Takes a certain comp to be able to burst him down. More than just an Ana
Queue times towards the end of OW1 were horrendous for any role that wasn't tank because nobody wanted to play tank. I shudder when I remember those 11 minute dps queues.

I’ve had two types of experiences with Mauga. As Mauga, I’ve gotten groups that peel off and don’t support me. But when I’ve been supporting Mauga, especially as Mercy…we crush. Healed out Mauga through almost certain death with our other healer. I’ve never seen anything like it.
Wouldn’t Maura be easy to bring down if he got ff while a dva, genji, orisa, etc jumped in front to deflect him so he doesn’t get hp boost? Or is that mostly supports keeping him up?
In my experience if he doesn't have a support glued to his hip he's gonna die pretty quick. Keep in mind I'm a low rank player and a lot of my quick play games are just people doing their own thing rather than taking it seriously. I haven't played him much at all so I have no clue whether his self heal is all that good.

Rein is a weird matchup. It really comes down to whether or not you can keep enough shield to block Mauga's bullets when he goes for cardiac overdrive. If you can block the whole time he's going for that healing, it's pretty good. Plus it's basically free shatters. But at the same time, Mauga can break your shield with less than one clip so it also kinda sucks ass. It's like playing against Bastion, but all the time. Really gotta play cover and corners. Tough but doable. Zarya, Sigma, and Mauga are better options for sure though.

@@Daddix0 no, his originality of his kit is that he is cc inmune on his charge and is a tank that can do a lot of dmg up close and can take 1v1s against dps because of cardiac overdrive, what I dont think is ok with mauga is how tanky he is, if you are gonna put a tank that can do similar dmg to bastion and has lifesteal and overhealth in his kit I think you should make him a glass cannon, if they are healing mauga you need more than 3 people to take him down, in the trials days of mauga he didnt had armor health and 600 hp and he was fine, now they just made him so tanky for the excuse of having a big hitbox, it seems stupid to me because mauga is a tank that can poke you really well, for roadhog, ball, dva and rein is fair that they have huge amounts of hp because they dont have any range whatsoever and cant just shoot a dps that is being pocketed and kill them, he should have like junkerqueen hp, 450 or so, because with the added overhealth he is ridiculously hard to kill, Im fine with the armor health so he doesnt just explode and can have time to react to for example a widow headshot, but as he is now he just does everything better than any other tank, is almost like there is no reason to play any other tank than mauga

@@Daddix0 covering behind walls make this character broken, if you push him you die and if you dont then he is dumping tons of dmg in everyone, not only the tank, he does almost 150 dmg poking if you burn them, and his range is quite generous and spread is good too, so if you die as him in the open is your fault, the character as it is is broken with cardiac overdrive and supports behind him healing him, having 800 hp on a tank is ridiculous considering winston with primal has 1000 hp, an hp nerf is the most reasonable thing to make the character not unplayable but not op and if you still think that he gets melted then you might as well think that junkerqueen and zarya have such a poor character design that they are unplayable, they arent

JQ has 450 because she’s skinny. not a coincidence either. you cannot give the widest, largest character in the game with the biggest head hitbox in the game 450hp when his only way to sustain himself is lifesteal that’s only effective on the enemy tank. he needs a redesign. because yes, he’s miserable to face, but for more complicated reasons than “unga bunga he’s OP.”
Mauga is OP if you have good healing. If you have bad healing you're just gonna keep dying. I feel like he's a character you don't main but you keep on the backburner incase you realize healers are pulling your team. Without healing he's kind of useless against other tanks.

Mauga is so unfun to play against as tank. Not only he melts you, also as a tank you have to always fight the mauga and nothing else. It's like fighting bastion without the turret cooldown. People say ana counters mauga which is true but that's also true for every tank.

His ult is so broken honestly. Some games he gets cage within the first team fight, and the cage being essentially a better grav AND EMP is insane. Having all mobility locked is absurd to me, especially since how are you going to escape when there is already a solid wall preventing you from leaving? It makes it so heroes like Genji cannot even use swift strike, which is one of his main forms of damage and fighting back, nor can he even use double jump or wallclimb at all. It feels like the moment he presses Q there is absolutely no counterplay unless you have a Sombra EMP, or a Zen transcendence. Other than that, he is fun to play into, but I find myself absolutely helpless if I am caught in his ult, especially since it just pops up instantly. Its not just him with infinite ammo attacking you in the cage; its his entire team.

I'm not a fan of all the new OW2 tanks, excluding doom. They all play the exact same, just walk forward and use abilities. We need a new dive tank or something.
Mauga shits the other tanks so hard it's not even funny. He feels so out of place to me, he also feels a bit like ball or doom. Either too strong or too weak.
Mauga provides WAY too much DPS as a tank. Thats why resources naturally funnel into him. Keep him healthy? And he can steamroll a fight. His damage needs to be toned down. Maybe Increase the weapon spread. Remove the headshot bonus. Reduce his ammo. Something. But he should not be the main source of DPS.
So far, playing Mauga has personified why is sucks tanking in OW2. EVERYONE shoots at you. Combine that with Ana sleep then nade, you're dead, If the other Tank has a pocket Mercy then you might as well quit the game and take the loss.
Mauga is interesting, I just despise his ult. It's just an absurdly busted EMP with a shield that has little to no counterplay which, for some reason, persists after death. He already eats resources like a massive ult battery who never dies and does a shitload of damage, but his ult just shuts down certain heroes for free. Minigun Man is cool, just feels like a character with crazy Seesaw Potential. At least he's fun to play.
Mauga is BS OP. If both teams don't have him, 9/10 times it's a foregone conclusion. It's pathetic how they release these OP characters and ruin the game until the next patch.

Imo the best experience is to play dive and deny him self healing. If you’re able to do that and trade backlines you win.
Ramattra and take a DPS with you. Stack you damage and try and finish him as your shield melts

It feels like the moment he presses Q there is absolutely no counterplay unless you have a Sombra EMP, or a Zen transcendence. Other than that, he is fun to play into, but I find myself absolutely helpless if I am caught in his ult, especially since it just pops up instantly. Its not just him with infinite ammo attacking you in the cage; its his entire team.

I'm not a fan of all the new OW2 tanks, excluding doom. They all play the exact same, just walk forward and use abilities. We need a new dive tank or something.

Mauga shits the other tanks so hard it's not even funny. He feels so out of place to me, he also feels a bit like ball or doom. Either too strong or too weak.
Mauga provides WAY too much DPS as a tank. Thats why resources naturally funnel into him. Keep him healthy? And he can steamroll a fight. His damage needs to be toned down.
Maybe Increase the weapon spread. Remove the headshot bonus. Reduce his ammo. Something. But he should not be the main source of DPS.
So far, playing Mauga has personified why is sucks tanking in OW2. EVERYONE shoots at you. Combine that with Ana sleep then nade, you're dead, If the other Tank has a pocket Mercy then you might as well quit the game and take the loss.
Problem is people think a new hero should come out every couple months. The more heroes that come out the more difficult it will be to balance

Mauga is interesting, I just despise his ult.
It's just an absurdly busted EMP with a shield that has little to no counterplay which, for some reason, persists after death.
He already eats resources like a massive ult battery who never dies and does a shitload of damage, but his ult just shuts down certain heroes for free.
Minigun Man is cool, just feels like a character with crazy Seesaw Potential. At least he's fun to play.
Broken as hell. My plat equivalent qp games every mag had 2k DMG per minute and so hard to kill without soj or reaper. They overbuffed him

Mauga is BS OP. If both teams don't have him, 9/10 times it's a foregone conclusion. It's pathetic how they release these OP characters and ruin the game until the next patch.
