MGK actually posted a clip of this song over a year ago and it was going to be on TTMD but didn’t make it for reasons. Barker produced it.
Yep. Agree'd. MGK has said that this was done over a yr ago so before bloody valentine and ended up better for Yungblud's new album than TTMD
"reasons", lawl. It was supposed to be right after "Forget Me Too", but stop and think about who they both know well enough to say that they are too hot to be acting like that. Couple that with the fact that the song was written a couple of months after Dom's split with the "Libra" in question...

Probably would’ve worked better if they brought more of the party-core vibe through out the song. Like more rhythmic guitars in the chorus and stuff like that and maybe a staccato lead that follows the melody

Originally was gonna be Track Six on MGK's album, made around the same time as I Think I'm OK, but it wasn't for unknown reasons. Travis Barker is on drums and Chris Greatti (who I hadn't heard of until a couple months ago, he's a writer, producer, guitarist, and he is on quite a few different artists songs and albums, I think hes on MGK's album, he is credited on yungbluds new album weird!, and palaye royales latest album.) is also on the track

Safe to say this is a left over from TTMDF, this was just to please the fans to have a MGK feature on yungbluds album. Keep up the great work guys

I enjoy all of your reviews. I don't mind the similar structure....but I grew up on a lot of punk. I mean the first few Greenday and Blink , NOFX type records, or Ramones records...most of the songs have a similar structure, does not bother me.... seems like that's what MGK is doing, but he's adding some cool new modern elements with the rap type stuff and breakdowns. I'm just glad somebody like MGK and Yungblud are doing this type of stuff in 2020

This song was like the 2nd or 3rd song after recording bloody valentine. So it was fresh off bloody valentine. But he pocketed the song until yungbluds album came out
It was recorded before Bloody Valentine, it was done in Dec of 2019.

I liked your take on this song and definitely agree with all of your comments. I love MGK and YungBlud but this was probably one of my least favorites of theirs. I also can't un-hear Metro Station - Shake It in the chorus with this song. Seriously, go listen to Shake It after you listen to the one, you won't be able to un hear it either!

I hear very faint echoes of BV but not surprising considering it was made around the same time. It's a good song but I do think I Think I'm OKAY is a far better song.
