  • Fly fishing at its toughest. The river is barely flowing, conditions are bright and a cold easterly wind as well. Fantastic angling from my young companion Will Robins. A wonderful day on the most northerly chalk stream (Spring Creek) in the world.

Lovely wild looking chalkstream - very different looking to what we've got in southern England.

Nice video, anda nice place. We have similar rivers in our Cordoba province and also in our patagonia. But chalk streams are not easy to find. Regards from Buenos Aires

Nice One Jonathan. Best of luck for the 2014 fishing season. Nice to watch in the winter and better to get out there when the season starts.

Hey, nice grayling! I caught a 1,25 pound grayling on a dry last summer, right after i pulled him I saw a 1 pounder right where I spotted the last one and he bit too! 2 Trophy fish for me in crystal clear water!

I don't know anything about the average size of grayling in the English waters but from what I've seen in the videos that fish at 4:54 is really a monster. It looks to be close to 18". Great job!

Had you ever before caught two such big grayling in such a short period of time? At one time, over 100 years ago, grayling were very plentiful in some American states. I know Michigan used to have thousands of them in the Au Sable river which is very simliar to your chalk streams. One of the only places they are now found in the lower 48 states are a few streams in Montana. Do they sell day tickets to this chalk stream and if so how much?

It's 2013, please get your private hog pen chalkers back into the gin clear water or don't even pull them out.. A huge majority of fish die when kept out as long as you fumble with them. No matter how you think you have revived them.

LuckyGuitar fish should be returned in under half a minute, otherwise they’ll die. If you don’t understand the basics, don’t post a video.

On a chalk stream you should only fish one fly. Be it a dry fly OR a nymph. You are cheating if you fish a dry fly nymph combination shame on you.

This is a Northern Chalkstream, that rule does not apply!
