- Finally done with the eureka grind. In this video I go over my experience getting my first stormblood relic, as well as the elemental armor and ozma mount. I go over each of the eureka zones: Anemos, Pagos, Pyros and Hydatos as well as the 56 man raid, the baldesion arsenal. This video ended up being a very long one, so thanks for stopping by!

Small tip to anyone planning to do Eureka: get yourself a Kirin/Vermilion armor piece. You can buy it from the guy at the Pier for 2 Cryptic Seals or 3 Damascene Cloth (depending on your class) which you can buy from the Market Board. It gives you plenty of Elemental Power stat and a bit of Haste. Elemental Power affects your general power in Eureka, so you'll do more damage and take less. Haste just speeds up your GCD. It's really helpful especially if you want to do most of Eureka solo.
Also the eureka experience boosting potions
Great tip. It also helps keep making BA runs profitable:) but this is the advice I received and it was helpful. This armor is still BIS even compared to +2 armor so it’s worth the investment.
The whole set or just one piece?
@@leftbrain3834 You want to pick the chest piece depending on your job. There's 7 different Kirin/Vermillion chests so make sure you get the right one.
You mentioning 'whole set' makes me think you're thinking of the Anemos Armor set (NO elemental nor haste bonus) or the Elemental armor set (elemental bonus only, but needs to finish BA a couple times).
Since the Kirin/Vermillion chests have an elemental bonus AND haste, they're BiS. Elemental armor is commonly done until +1 for glamor purposes (so right before getting the elemental bonus).

Make two macros.
/magiaauto def
and
/magiaauto atk
/magiaauto atk will set your board to automatically switch to the weakness of the target.
/magiaauto def will set it to the best defensive set up automatically.
Also a macro for level syncing when you dismount is really helpful

A few corrections/additions:
1) Elemental conflicts ("bunny FATEs") in Eureka Pagos are not useless. You can get Hakutaku eyes, the copycat bulb minion, and more.
2) You didn't mention X-warped lockboxes, which started being a thing in Pagos. Cold-warped, heat-warped, and moisture-warped lockboxes can drop from mutated enemies and can contain expensive things like the Shiver emote.
3) Your antiquated equipment from your level 70 job quest can be upgraded in Eureka Anemos as well. It takes 4300 protean crystals and 750 Anemos crystals per job to upgrade everything. This is how you make the armor dyeable.
4) On your first Baldesion Arsenal clear, make sure you take the provided exit instead of casting Return.
Can you only do the gear upgrade in anemos after you have finished? Or anytime?
in case you were still wondering, you can upgrade it while you are still in anemos, when i was doing eureka i thought that you needed to upgrade your artifact gear to get the elemental gear lol.
Baldesion Arsenal is my favorite piece of content in this game. I will literally never forget the first time I ran it, got to ozma, hear the shot caller say something about the slippery corners.... and immediately fall to my death and got sucked out of the raid LOL. Still came back next run and got the clear tho!
Crystal is the DC youll want to do Eureka on. They still wait for NMs in every zone (usually).
Additional info. Elemental and materia also pretty active. Some amazing lads organize runs with randoms almost every day.

yeah the ONLY nm that gets instad regularly on crystal is crab, try on anything else and people will yell at you.

Drops for monsters in Pyros and Hydatos do sell, but this is so expansive people usually look cross server or cross dc even. That's why they do not sell that often on your server. If you list them at the correct price, they will sell in a day or two usually.

you make this sound worth it to go through eureka and I got pumped when I first unlocked it during shadowbringers, but now it's all about finding the time to do this. this was a great vid to watch and i hope to one day go through with this area and get the mounts that only can be found in eureka. you've given me more to think about and a better idea on what to do when go for the clear. thank you!
Thanks for this video. I watched it and then proceeded through Eureka. You hit the nail on the head for the most past in terms of each map and how they felt. I liked Anemos. Pagos was hell. Pyros started to build again and then I started loving it between Pyros and Hydatos. Pyros tends to have better NM trains whereas Hydatos tend to have a lot of slowdowns as people instead focus on entering BA.
I did BA for the first time today. Followed your advice about discord server and made the experience so awesome. My adrenaline was high but I never ended up being in danger by just following the mechanics. Well oiled machine. Have the armor glam I wanted and now just working on finishing 2 relic weapons (1 is still in pyros steps and the other is in Hydatos). I may get another armor set from Pyros but then that should be it for me I think.
The one thing I love about Eureka is that they made it casual content for hardcore rewards (at the time). I liked how you could just get into a party and just vibe while prepping NMs and the overall server working together to unlock certain things as well. They tried bringing it back with Bozja but I don't know how to explain it but it was nowhere near as enjoyable as Eureka was.

Ah yes the Aether instapullers. It's a few select people. You play enough and you eventually learn who they are. If you see them in the instance you know the instapulls are about to start. I have been in instances without them at some unholy hours and people wait for every single NM
Ever since DC travel became a thing, we've seen a few of them come over to Crystal too, unfortunately... gotta watch out for them everywhere it seems

There are ways to power level to zoom out of Pagos. I usually take new people power levelling if I see them struggling. The Pagos bunny fate also has the Copycat Bulb which is the most expensive item you can get from Eureka so it isn't entirely a waste to do the bunny fates there.

First time watching your content and I absolutely adore the way you've encapsulated my feelings on Eureka into one video. I wish you could imagine the smile that crept on my face as you began to segue into talking about Pagos lol. I mainly went into Eureka, personally, because I wanted the Ozma mount and the Stormblood classes' relics. I went through most of it alongside a friend (who of course, stopped at Pagos) and I honestly enjoyed the grind for the most part since there was always people chatting in shout chat and stuff in my instances. BA was such a nice reward after all the grinding and I can confidently say I have never gotten more angry at a piece of content more in my life when someone killed me with an Acceleration Bomb and ruined my first run when Ozma was at 5% health. Otherwise though, I love Eureka and even do BA runs every so often just for fun to this day. P.S. Your UWU video has inspired me to begin the process of pf'ing the fight so I can de-rust and prog some more towards a clear!
Eureka makes me feel like playing an MMO instead of a single player game. The lack of field operations in Endwalker really highlight the importance of contents like Eureka and Bozja during a patch cycle
I started doing Eureka last week and it's so much fun. Reminds me of the social aspect of FFXI and made me realize how much I missed that. I also feel like I'm earning something compared to the Manderville relic, which was too easy
I did Eureka when I was in NA (Primal) insta-pullers also exists particularly for Crab and Cassie in Pagos, Skoll, Yin Yang, and Lamebrix in Pyros, Molech, Goldemar, and Ceto in Hydatos. I'm now in OCE (Materia) and glad to say no insta-pullers in OCE. There are also people there that came from JP and they confirmed to me that no insta-pullers in JP as well.
Eureka is definitely my favourite content in the game. Sometimes when I have a bad day I head there and chill. I had zero issues with Pagos, in fact is probably my favourite zone lol. I like it when it takes effort to do stuff. And yes the community in Eureka is amazing.
I love Pagos too, it is fun because how vertical the map is and the real excitement lies in the danger of exploration and traversing. And it is truely rewarding when you unlock all 4 maps, and jump from one to another spawning high level NM and rare conditions NM with your group of friends or partner. I think that is how Eureka is still the most rewarding experience in FF14 because it makes you feel good to be proactive and knowledgeable about the contents. Even new jobs like Reaper and Sage prove to be powerful in these environments with the correct setup.
Yeah I’m also a Pagos enjoyer. It’s like the only map on the game with that level of verticality in its design, so I think it’s interesting for sure, though I also understand why it’s so polarising. But the dark souls comparisons are apt. I think people who don’t know about slow walking probably have the worst time in there lol. But it really isn’t a hassle to slow walk past a dragon

Cool timing. Eureka is something I started, but didn't actually get through. (literally got into the instance and left after gaining a level) I've been asking a friend if they wanna run through it and I think now is finally the time.
Legit just started my adventures into eureka and lvl 18 in anemos after a good few hours im really loving the area and the fates/NM hunts cant wait too get enough feathers too progress now
I think the worst part of Eureka, personally, is that my friends cant help me outside of fates. them just being in the party prevents me getting any EXP and they have to just watch me kill mobs slowly
They can, just have them out of the party and kill them that way, then you all get the exp
You can also use the NM spawns to level-sync so you can pull a ton of mobs into the area while high level, chunk them down, then level sync for the kill, which will also reward xp to your partied friends!

Congratulations on finishing your grind. I remember about a year ago spending a couple months in Hydatos finishing my last six weapons, just for the achievements and to get those things out of my retainer inventory, save the two Physeos (Brd and War) I kept for potential returns for gil farming and two replicas for Whm and Drg glam. I've spent so much time in Eureka overall, I have everything except Cassie's minion (or earring, but meh).
BA is not hard now yes but when it first came out this shit was terribly hard. also eureka is my favorite content in game to the point i want to help everyone so they can enjoy it like i did.
If can add some info as a player on Primal DC, I was surprise to hear insta-pull in Pyros and Hydatos :o
In Pagos there's Cassie and the Crab that get insta pull ONLY. Everything else is pretty standar pulltimer-wait-wait extra minute if someone otw-Pull
and for BA, like BigBluePurple said, it can be intimating, but I ran BA many times now, the first time was scary, but the people leading it, (I say from Primal), was super nice and welcoming. They even try to do theme runs, like once they asked if everyone could come in green cause that was the leader favorite color.
and ye, first run can be very stressful, but listen to calls, follow your party leader and it should go smooth! :D
If I may add a smol note to the video; If you desire to get ALL relics of Eureka, I would highly suggest to run BA many times to get the full Elemental Armor +2, giving you big buff stats. It'll let you solo the entirety of Anemos and helps LOT in pagos (Aka able to solo a sleeping dragon, no more walking! >:3)

On the insta puller thing for Pyros: I have had experience with them on all but Hydatos (haven't got there yet...) atleast on Sarganatas and Balmung.
While the Anemos ones usually seem little more like "beginner's mistake" than anything else (hell, was sinful of doing that too), the Pagos one was the one at the ice arena where you have pull the weird blue morbols to help make it spawn faster, and the people who pulled refused to let the people who helped spawned it get back to the arena's entrance, so anyone new to Eureka might want to keep that in mind for those places atleast.
For new people you can stay in anemos until you get closer to 25. You can see your level in the party member list. ( I love pagos lol)
Gah, I need to finish my guides now for Eureka; also this last week I got my Rdm Physeos and my brd Eureka, close to my smn Eureka and working on mnk Pagos now; also eyyyyyy you can see me just left of your logos tray at 22:09
I've only made it a little ways through the second zone since Materia can be very quiet outside of peak hours even for highly relevant current content and I haven't had heaps of motivation to get through it. But people in eureka really are generally some of the nicest in the game. Some random player with fully decked out eureka gear offered to carry me through 6 levels with fate level sync manipulation because he was doing it for one of his friends at the same level as me. Gave me the items that boost exp gain for free and everything.
The ba version of ozma is definitely a nerve racking experience.
I miss Eureka that was a nice set of zones, it forced team activity and being able to carry people around in my car mount was nice.

Pagos is hell on release.. They nerf light farming so much making it more bearable then before...so added like times 10 to that dark soul comment if u thought it was bad before XD. Dragons at the time was best light farming method on release. Last zone was ok-ish I wish they increase crystal drop rates before shb came out.
Community didn’t used to be like that 😅 only the nice people are left. When it was current shit was way different.
I did eureka during the gap of content right before endwalker and it might be my favorite content in the game.
On primal there also maybe 2 guys that always insta pull and looks like they are doing eureka forever cause I did my first relic and after months I returned and these same guys were insta pulling, besides that I really enjoyed the content

@@bigbluepurple Can vouch for CAFE. Really great resource and people, and they have regular, organized Baldesion Arsenal runs for new people as well. Just listen to the raid leads and you'll do well.
I don't know if it's still like that, but what killed my eureka enthusiasm back when I was trying to get my weapons was the bunny fate farmers. You could have entire instances full of players who are only there to grind bunny fates and, fun fact, the NM's in there scale to the amount of players in the instance. So I'd be begging these people to come do the NM's so I could finish my weapons and they'd refuse saying something stupid like "but bunneh!" I burnt out on eureka solely because of those players. I do need to get back into it sometime though.
So far so good. Or at least not so bad as i remember it was when i try this first time just after finishing sb story. Or making bunch of arr relic make me already immune xD
Where can I find the armor you wearing in the intro.
BA was much more terrifying back before the Echo was implemented post-ShB. Frankly every zone in Eureka was, but BA was a step above where there were distinct differences in premade groups between progression runs, fragment runs, and clear runs. DPS was expected to run glass-cannon logos actions, and most if not all members needed to have some +2 armor upgrades if they were going to push Ozma.
I personally just work evenings and don't get regular nights off, so trying to run BA in the weeks before ShB hit was just too much rng for me irl. Might eventually go back now, though.
I went into Eureka with a keen interest on quite a number of relics, about 7 weapons and three gear pieces. I hadn't heard great things about Eureka, and I thought if I was gonna do it I might as well get everything while I'm in there because it would be highly unlikely that I'd touch it again. So instead of 1300 protean crystals in anemos, I'm farming 13000. I was at about 10000 protean crystals when the burnout started to kick in, and I worried I might have made the wrong decision. Hearing you talk about the crystal situation in Hydatos, I'm not sure I'm gonna make it.
As someone who did all the armors and weapons, I'd suggest going through and completing one weapon and armorset first - because then you can go back into the earlier zones but stronger. Speeds it up a lotttt.
I don't know what youi did in Pagos but I had a great time exploring and navigating, its kinda fun seeing all the spots. Here on Light DC I've never seen insts pulls, the special NM have special pull times like 27 ppl which is plenty time to reach it. Aether seems very fucked in every way I hear about it xD (Bozja, Eureka, raiding etc.) .

The only reason I did Eureka was for the mount, my favorite mount in the game and it was 100% worth the grind.
Same, that and finally getting every relic for Black Mage as a personal achievement
so my main is on aether but I don't do eureka there anymore I've been doing it over on crystal and the community there is much better the only one they instapull there that I know of is crab in pagos.
I did all of eureka recently on chaos DC and can confirm that people will almost always wait on NM pulls all the way up to hydatos, there is one guy called Sweet Popoto who pulls early but he is very much the exception, not the rule
there is someone on Aether DC called "pull time respecter" who instapulls all the rare drop NMS lmaoooo

As someone who hit Eureka on launch, Pagos was definitely the stopping point for me too lol, I tried picking it back up every expansion - but Pagos was so painful to do for an extended period of time - that I didn't finally complete it until EW.
I'm on Primal, so the kind of players you get in the instance varies - arguably Pagos was worse than Pyros for me, I've seen a few bots in the instance before. Some of the time people are helpful, but it was a mess getting raised and dealing with the no-shout instapulls.
It's funny though, because the actual worst instapuller situation that I've had was much like the situation you've described in Pyros where one person couldn't wait in a part of the map where there are above level cap mobs (55+), and everyone who finally got to the boss at like 60℅ health down inevitably pulled the mobs along the way to meet a not trash fate reward, creating a pile of bodies. It's actually instance griefing lol.
Thankfully Eureka definitely does pick up after Pagos. I'm rather shy, but I appreciate when people just inv you if they have a spot open - it's a nice gesture.
I'm also probably insane for wanting to do all this in the first place because I want Conditional Virtue that badly xD
I love coming back to Eureka every 7-9 months, for a month, do plenty of stuff, and leave it. It makes the feeling always fresh :)

wait there are 4 Fing zones?! i thought there be only 2 maybe 3.
'Everyone is still doing Eureka' maybe on the 2nd,3rd and 4th map. but on Chaos the 1st map is pretty close to empty , yet my friends who are on the 2nd still have alot of ppl around.
if i want to get the sb relics for all my classes i need toto level up the respective eureka jobs ranks as well?
Your eureka rank is shared between all jobs
Elemental level is shared across all jobs. Additionally, you don’t need to play as the job you want the weapon for. You just need it at level 70 to get the job gear weapon.
On EU servers if the NM rewards you with some expensive items people usually wait 2 extra minutes for other people to get there
Can confirm with JP data centers not insta pulling, specifically coming from Mana

Instructions unclear, tried to apply 2023 guide in 2024. Computer exploded.
Pyros NMs that give you magicite items get pulled instantly, cuz there are groups of people that have trackers on them, they usually don't care about Eureka unless one of those NMs are about to spawn
i think eureka has alot more people than bojza lmao, last week i did dalriada and only manage to get 7 people inside
12:32 I was actually grinding in pagos with some ppl I befriended in anemos, for reference I am from Crystal, server Diabolos,and they literally warned me that I shouldn't go to aether to do eureka.
According to them though eureka gets pretty toxic in crystal, but in aether is worse.
I will check myself later I just got to pagos, I go in between aether and crystal constantly bc I have friends on Gilgamesh and my home server is crystal

Simple solution for those ppl who want to leveling in eureka but got no friends to play with as a group
Play as SGE
You can use it as soon as you unlock the job, and also a good place to getting used as the healer. The only thing you need to do is put kardia on yourself and voila! You can even fights enemy that has higher elemental level than you (from my personal experience is the highest you can challenge is two level higher tops, three level diff still can melt you with their autos)
Just finished Eureka and got my Elemental Armor(which I came in for), the first 20 levels are true pain. Then from there its smooth sailing and tons of fun. People are usually helpful. The only sad thing is most people don't Run Baldesion Arsenal so I now need to find a Party for that
Definitely check out the discord servers for BA. On Aether they run it nearly everyday.

Aether has ABBA but I wouldn't recommend them if you can run with Crystal XD it's a lot more chaotic
I did Eureka last year and honestly mostly stayed for the gameplay, and only partway through Pyros decided to actually care about the relic weapons...
I also honestly enjoy Pagos, I think Pagos & Pyros were my favourite zones... Hydatos just felt really dead in comparison (but then idk how much of it is the particular DC I have experience with, EU Light). Idk, it's hard to describe it, but I felt like Pagos and Pyros had the most players and strongest social/community vibes... spending time chatting about random things in /shout chat whilst grinding mobs to spawn fates etc, good times.
Bozja felt like it didn't have the same energy to it, doing it this year (after finishing ShB--yes, I kinda stopped MSQ for Eureka and I think it distracted me for a good month or so, but after I got my Ozma I was really burned out on FFXIV and took a hiatus from the game). I hear Dawntrail might have a similar adventuring foray zone, looking forward to seeing what they cook up for that one
I gave up when I got to Pagosa and never looked back. I spend more time in Bozja, but I haven't even bothered going to Zadnor
Im amazed u missed the instant pullers in pagos for mr krabs fate and cassie since they drop "rare and expensive" gear.
Like with other relic steps, can you keep a job on each step of the weapons/gears collectables and farm them all at the same time? My idea when I get my characters all to 90 is to put each job on a different step so i can continually farm all the crystals I need instead of doing each weapon one at a time.
Yup you definitely can.
It's not like the other relic weapon quests, it's not quest based. You will get the crystals from NMs no matter what, you don't need an in-progress relic at any stage to get the materials.
I mostly have enjoyed popping back into Pyros every now and then as a Crystal server player, just farming bunnies to get gill + chill with and/or rescue lower level players still not used to the mobs, especially the ones in the north who sometimes have multiple aggro conditions. Only part that still irks me is I swear to god certain mounts that you use with / rp walking will still trigger the dragon. It's like mount speed is still somewhat inconsistent or maybe the particle effects on things like the dogs sets it off? I'm not even in the area circle of the dragon at all.
Is the weapon grind required to make it to the raid?
Nope you just gotta hit max level in eureka and finish the main questline.

So happy they didn't do instanced areas for the weapon grind. Shit was sooooo bad.
Back in Stormblood I kind of just ditched Eureka once I got my Pyros weapon for my smn because I just thought the weapon just looked ugly after upgrading it further. Back then people were scary about entering BA too and you had to be like a professional gamer but nowadays it seems people are desperate for bodies in BA lol so maybe it is a good time to return

Are you planning on tackling Delubrum Reginae Savage next? It is the love child between a raid tier savage and BA. The mechanics are more complex, failure is more punishing and cooperation and communication is a must. It has ease of entry unlike BA but the pace at which you progress can be gruelling because of how hard the bosses can be and the extra challenges of combining the lost actions to optimise damages and mitigation. Bozja is so rewarding to play is the result of Eureka's various trials and error. I am a bit disappointed EW will not have a similar content but I do cheer the return of deep dungeon this patch. Perhaps next expansion we can have something like BA and DRS again.
I’d definitely like to try DRS at some point, I love the idea of more challenging alliance raid style content. I haven’t done much bozja yet though so I’ll have to buckle up and grind my way through it.
Which na data center is best for eureka and bozja. It certainly isn't Primal.
You can try crystal, I haven't had much issue with it for both and they're decently populated during peak hours
Eureka is probably Crystal (CAFE) followed by Aether (ABBA). Crystal's runs on CAFE are incredibly popular and fill fast when there's a lull in content, instances themselves are pretty populated too. Bozja/Zadnor likewise is big on Crystal but if you ever want to chase after something like DR Savage runs you'll find luck on any NA DC besides Dynamis - PEBE, ABBA, CEM, and CAFE servers all run fresh prog groups pretty often.
Aether isnt that great... Crystal is typical how you would expect, same as the Worlds. Havent tried Primal yet, my alt in there barely finished post HW

Yeah me too. I don’t mind Eureka but BA is worth the grind. I like the organized groups, voice call outs and the strategy and preparation involved.
With the lack of people playing Eureka on the OCE servers, I only just got to Pagos recently, was fortunate enough to also get Pazuzu feathers. But it just feels so slow and empty, about as bad as trying to do Castrum Lacus Litore in Bozja. It's enough to make me want to go back to the JP servers, if it weren' for the horrible connection speed.

Use /magiaauto in chat to make your Magiaboard rotate automatically.
The /magiaauto command cycles through 'offensive', 'defensive' and 'off'
To add to that, if you're worried about running out of spins while running around or mounted, you can target yourself, and even if stuff hits you you won't lose a spin :)

The design of eureka is a tribute to ffxi. Deleveling from getting killed, notorious monsters, these are pretty much all from final fantasy 11
sometimes i powerlvl random players i meet in pyros from 35-50. takes about 90minutes on average when the place is empty. they're pretty surprised at how fast it goes
I do that in anemos a lot too. I'm often back in there even though I've finished all the armors and relics, just because I want random glams or ucob BiS pieces.
Wow... instapullers in Pyros sounds like a pain. I've run around there a bit but never hear about that on EU.
I've been in Pyros for years. Mostly because life and social problems, but also because the whole scheme switching from "oh just elemental wheel it" to "and get the right actions you dummy" made me fear the place even more. This is being said as someone who only went there because a friend wanted to try to do the content and they could solo things as WHM for the weekly things.
Still want the BA mount, but probably never going to get that far - my imposter syndrome is way too strong for me to think I even deserve to try.
you don't really need to use logos actions, they just help a bit. And the insta pullers are annoying yes, but they are also very predictable. They always seem to spawn and kill the NMs in the same order so you can just follow them and be at the NM spawn point waiting for it. Well, at least the ones on aether anyways.
