    Hey. I used to crochet when I was a lot younger. I'm planning to do a floor rug out of cut plastic bags and I'm going to crochet it. I have long forgotten how to do it but luckily I have you to show me the way. It's going to be a rug for a covered balcony one day. So thanks for the tip. Heippa hei 👍

    I haven't seen the "anchoring" step used in other tutorials; very helpful. I also use the alternate turning chain, but that stitch can be quite "fluffy," and is not always the best choice. Thank you, Ms. Tuula Maaria for another helpful tip!

    Thank you so much! I was looking for a tutorial on how to work a standing dc and most of them involved starting with a new strand of yarn

    Thank you so much! That was very easy to understand and I like the look MUCH better than chaining at the start of a row or round.

    Tuula Maaria, I absolutely LOVE your ideas to make stitches better and better! You are amazing!!! Thank you for sharing! I always hated the beginning chain stitches, because it ruins the overall look of the piece. This is so beautiful!

    Thanks for the tip. I was actually taught this way 55 years ago and it is nice to find someone that uses a lot of the original (to my knowledge) techniques. Some things I’m sure I had forgotten so please don’t stop. Stay well🧡. Thanks from Australia 🐨🐨🦘🦘

      Thank you for your comment! I was also taught many crochet things over 50 years ago, although this tip is something I learned much later. I used to do the standing stitch in a way that it is not attached to the stitch below and then it tends to move!
      All the best from Finland! 😊

      Thank you for telling us this! I'm new to crochet. I always knitted for years. I kept wondering why every teaching video I saw always made a chain instead and it never looked right to me so I tried it just a couple days ago and it worked so much better! I didn't know if it would cause problems or not so I'm so glad to hear you say this. Thank you so much! I love your tips!

    How to crochet book mark??

    • @TuulaMaaria
      @TuulaMaaria  Před 4 lety

      You can make a bookmark using any stitch and create a rectangle. Could also add a long string of some kind to it. This is actually a good idea for a video!

    DEAR MADAM,
    I HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING YOUR CROCHET ARTISTRY WITH GOOD RESULTS.
    WHILE WORKING ON THE ROUNDS I AM FACING A PROBLEM.
    I AM USING FOLLOWING METHOD:
    MAGIC RING 10TR
    ROUND 1 20TR
    ROUND 2 30 TR
    ROUND 3 40 TR ………..
    PROBLEM: AFTER FEW ROUNDS THE WORK PRODUCED IS BENDING ON EDGES RESULTING IN A DISH SHAPE.
    THIS SHOULD BE A FLAT SHAPE. I AM UNABLE TO UNDERSTAND THE MISTAKE ON MY PART.
    I REQUEST YOU TO POINT/CORRECT MY MISTAKE FOR THIS ERROR.
    REGARDS

      @TuulaMaaria  Před 3 lety +2

      I normally use this formula for increases:
      round 3 → 1 stitch between increases
      round 4 → 2 stitches between increases
      round 5 → 3 stitches between increases
      round 6 → 4 stitches between increases
      round 7 → 5 stitches between increases
      round 8 → 6 stitches between increases
      round 9 → 7 stitches between increases
      round 10 → 8 stitches between increases
      Hope this helps!
