Music video by Bryan Ferry And Roxy Music performing Angel Eyes. - Hudba
8 years ago I was sitting next to my partner and we had a pregnancy test, the radio was on and the very second she turned to me and said " I'm pregnant" this song started , all the emotions I felt, elation, fear, worry, happiness and apprehension , now every time I hear it it reminds me how lucky I am to have my wonderful son and also that moment in time, still as fresh as at the moment it happened..
Good story but i dont wanna read all this crapppp
Beautiful 😍
@@tedmontana2745 no one is forcing you to
Nice story
Children are the very best gift the Lord could ever give us.
When music still mattered❤
Clothes by Antony Price. Credited on Roxy Music's debut album for 'clothes, make-up and hair'. Art director and stylist, he's a slightly hidden but significant part of the band's history. He also designed Duran Duran's suits worn in the iconic Rio video.
It's nice to see that General Zod was able to let go of his hatred of Superman and turn to his love of the guitar.
Very modern for 1979, way ahead of its time. This is pure chique pop!
It was 1979, the year the 80s started.
@@jackgrant9301some have said the eighties began with Bowie's Isolar II tour, 1978.
Music is so strange. I was 10 when this and Dance Away came out and I can genuinely still feel the change in the season that year when I hear them both. A sense memory as vivid as if was still happening. The singles in 1979 were wonderful and we just expected them to come like you’d turn on a tap and there’d be water. I feel lucky to have lived through it.
Special time indeed,a transitional period spawning original and experimental styles of music unmatched to this day.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate how sweet the bass playing is on this track 👌
Possibly coolest looking bass player ever and this was and still is one of my fav!!!
Gary Tibbs.
@@thesound-chameleonman3580 the best
I AGREE ABSOLUTELY, GARY TIBBS OF ADAM AND THE ANTS FAME.
Agreed-- he also did a nice job on "Oh Yeah" and "Same Old Scene"-- the whole "Flesh and Blood" album for that matter!
This guy gets better with age..a legend .
Upon listening to Roxy Music, your ears will be blessed and you shall forever have good taste in music.
And if you watch the vids.... you'll also have good dress-style !! 😏
I'm french ... and my dad already a really good taste... i still love it today..
Roxy music is one of the best bands that has ever graced our lives x
Fabulous memories and moments in time, wishing your family and you all the very best forever and for always 💗🙏💗
King of cool Mr Bryan Ferry..
Only Bryan could pull off the shiny lilac suit in 2023. Such a cool dude❤
1979.
@@w.urlitzer1869I know that. I was saying he still looks cool 45 years later🙄 Keep up but munch!!
@@w.urlitzer1869I know what year it is thanks. I meant Bryan still manages to looks cool as.
Bryan Ferry was and is the Cary Grant of Rock and Roll. Always immaculately stylish and cool.
It was uncanny how he sort of segued from lampooning that sort of lounge singer image, to sort of embodying it seriously.
I couldn’t agree more! Especially as someone who looks in the mirror every morning and says “would James Bond be happy leaving the house looking like this”. A rare compliment
Wow ;Cary grant ;I dig it #right on
Lol Cary Grants better looking my mate. Brilliant song here mind. Takes me back to that time
Indeed!
Could you imagine the ego and ease of doing videos in their early years. This guy is King.
This video sounds exactly how the song sounds, from the girls on the harp to Brian Ferry's pink suit
His facial expressions! I love it.
without roxy music, there would have never been bands like duran, spandeau, etc, etc, etc, etc
You are so right They are my favorites but they (in today's world) are not appreciated or given credit ,they paved the way(like you said for many people that may not even know. Way ahead of their time They are my favorites,as in mother of pearl.
True that. The originator of yacht rock? Right at the beginning of the New Wave too.
This is JUST my opinion. I must say... I don't agree with you. Because this is not Roxy Music. Those bands would never have made it without MTV. (Maybe Duran Duran would have made it) Roxy Music is not this Tripe you are watching here. Listen to the album "Siren". After that RM sold out BIG time. This is a prefabricated horrible disco re-make of a decent tune. The original version is so much better for me. czcams.com/video/6bQjkKBRyOU/video.html. I'm not trying to be rude. Just had to say what I felt. Thanks! :)
@@mirrortime Disco made me hate the seventies you are right ,who knows what kind of great creations they might have made ,like Pink Floyd they sold out to Roger Watters and pop culture to me.
@@mirrortime bands evolve and the sound can change drastically
sometimes we don't care for the change
just my feeling, wish you & everyone joy🌻
Ahhh Bryan ferry what a guy
Love the pinky purple suit ❤️💗
There is cool and then there is Bryan Ferry
As much as I love this song, I still after all these years have no idea why Paul Thompson is dressed up like a spaceman without a helmet….
This was my first 12” single and I still have it and love it 😍 😊
Roxy Music at it's best, such a classic.
Saw Bryan Ferry and his band live a few years ago. Absolutely brilliant.
I the look on his face: as if he is about to sneeze. This video has made my day!
😂
I laughed so hard I almost broke my ribs
his nostrils do look a little inflamed
Oh Aaangel Ey ... ey.. ey... EYYCHOO!!!
In a long line of HOF bass players in Roxy, this man is amzing and ahead of the '80s. EVERYONE will copy his playing.
Gary Tibbs, he is an incredible bassist and he also played for Adam an The Ants during the Prince Charming era.
Another great song, from one of the best bands of the eighties and even though we are now in 2020 there is not much around today that matches songs like this
Anyone else along with me here in JUNE 2024… god I love Bryan and Roxy music ❤
Yep it's a given
I just LOVE Roxy Music...So sultry and suave...Bryan does it right....
'Angel Eyes' was released in August 1979, the third single from Roxy Music's album 'Manifesto'. It reached No 4 in the UK chart, and was the first ever Roxy Music video.
Thanks for the info 🎷
The original is also very good !
REALLY???
you’re absolutely right this was released in the Summer of ’79 but thought DANCE AWAY came before this one
@@theman2017inc It did, April '79
This is the single version
Bryan Ferry was so freakin’ odd but he made being so odd so freakin’ cool!
Phil interacts supremely with the heavy-skilled bassman (Y)
This is what I hope heaven actually looks like
Wouldn't that be something? As you roll into heaven, there is Bryan Ferry and his band on a multi-tiered stage... complete with smoke effects and harp. Nice.
Love Brian Ferry and Roxy Music so very much !! Always have...always will !! 💗🔮💗
I'm so glad I lived through this period.
I loved the cold water to get washed in in the morning, the stale bread for breakfast, wearing coats all day to stay warm, ice on the insides of the windows... yeh, I loved the '70s. But some of the music WAS good.
angela mccoll Great days. I slept in an attic, and there were no radiators, but I had icicles hanging from the ceiling as company. No joke - true!
+Hairy Neck Speak for yourself!
I'm so glad that I lived through all of my periods and have survived to enjoy menopause.
Boom tish
First heard this song in 1978!!! I was 8 !!! Even then I knew I had good taste!!! I got the record Manifesto!! The album cover a work of art!!
This song was released in late '79
August 1979
Great song
A great song that concluded the end of the 70s
At the time, I was consumed by metal and rock, but Roxy Music and others showed me there was amazing music out there to appriciate. 🔥
What a production! Hits all the right notes. The perfect mix of musicianship and studio wizardry. They didn't let the synthesizer work overshadow the conventional instruments.
That would be Japan's role (to overshadow the conventional instruments)
@@rachelar and thankfully they did.
Indeed.
loved gary tibbs so much back in the day with roxy music, awsome bass player, these are for you gary xxxx
KEEP MY WIFES NAME OUT YA 🤬 MOUTH
The suave, and the sophisticated, Brian Ferry 👍
love this song. Bryan ferry is a legend, and one of my favourite artists!
I remember my dad used to play this for me a lot when I was younger and I haven’t listened to it in years and I was trying really really hard to remember it and now it all comes back and hits me like a brick
Absolutely love Brian Ferry/Roxy Music doing this track. Such a unique style he had!
Oh my God I love so much this fabulous funk !
I WANT TO LIVE IN THIS SONG.
That man lived the life, class, class, class all the way!!!!!
wtf, why don't people make things as good as this anymore..
The internet. People don't encounter new music and grow anymore, they stream the things they already know, or the things the algorithm tells them sound like what they already like. People get locked into genres more than ever. Roxy Music are a prime example of a group of artists taking on a diverse range of musical styles and blending them to make it their own. In this track alone there is disco, funk, new wave and an electro-pop sensibility, all mingling. Bowie was similar, as were others. Look at most editions of the UKs Top of The Pops TV show from 1979-1982 and you will see an incredibly diverse range of new music that was broadcast to a mass audience every week.
There is plenty of good music being produced, but it doesn't seem as great as before because people, including artists, now tend to go down their own digital rabbit hole which limits their innovation and creativity.
The best band of the era, I was fortunate to see then in San Francisco in '70. No one in the biz can rock a tailored aqua suit like Brian ferry- and that band!! Bass player just killed it. I was in art school in the 70's and used t listen to them while I worked. What a sound, like never before, never since.
Eargasm... Perfection. I love this song.
Roxy Music at their finest.
1979....seems so 83...Roxy music & ( Gary Numan )invented the sound of the 80s
the James Bond of pop music.
Sounds more like 80s new wave than 70s; it's clear that Roxy was totally ahead of the curve!
Dee Ellus Ultravox were pocket size versions of Roxy, they were light years behind Roxy's early innovative work.
Dee Ellus
Dee Ellus .....lol .....You Obviously Haven't Got A Clue About Music Please Go Read Up,On Who Was The Most Influential Band Of The Seventies Before Commenting On Things You No Nothing About .
OMG ! There are a lot of New Wave sounds in the 70's. You are joking, the New Wave don't was born in January,1 of 1980.
I agree with you
Probably because it's a 1979 record... transition to 80s.
This is real and absolute dance music!!
Love love love this song!!!
They don’t make them like Bryan Ferry anymore 🥰😍😍
This song is always harder to find, not even listed in my counties Wiki. Gladly I have found it back again. I love it. Thank you for uploading
Everything about this song screamed perfection.
the pink suit, the voice, the sound, the harp, the instruments, ......
In the 80s, there was competition so they had to be good as most groups were.
Fast forward to 2022, there is nothing.
1979 actually. In my opinion, that was the years that "the 80s" started.
And to think that this was their very first video (1979). Seems very simple today, but we were all eyes and mouths wide open back then. This band was always exceptional, but you've got to hand it to Bryan Ferry for always maintaining the highest of standards. Even his live shows are excellent. They used to have the Bete Noire one on YT. So good that I bought the DVD!
First video?? You’re 7 years out of whack mate
@stevenlawson-blight4253 I read that it was a first of its kind in some respect. Not sure how or why, but I can try to find out again. And I never mind being out of whack. That's quite normal for me!
U can't say there's a song better than this. And a singer better than Ferry.
Bryan looks like my father and whenever I see one of his or their videos it always makes me feel like calling him (my dad) up, just to hear his voice.
Love the song. Love the outfits. Love Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music.
I wish i could live into the atmosphere that he creates in his songs 🎵
Isn't this the greatest musical video of all time? What am I missing?
love this had just left secondary school when this was released, sweet times and many a fond memory dancing and smooching, to this track. a true cultural icon and has star quality written all over him
My only criticism is that this epic tune is about 5 minutes too short! :(
Can we just take a moment to appreciate Bryan Ferry's gurn throughout the entire video. Fantastic track though.
The Whole Album Rocks
I just love this song from roxy music
Sounds as fresh and as good in June 2024 as it did when it was released back in '79
August 1979
Mr Ferry looking cool and suave as usual
I love love love Bryan!
I just love that lead guitar.
LOVE THE BASS no one appreciates it
I do. Fantastic.
Gary Tibbs. Amazing.
Love this song and video. 😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤.
my god I love this mans voice..... and this song....
I'm in my early 30s and I consider this a TUNE
This song is fantastic!!...love the style.
Definitely the James Bond of rock
i love the dark undertones!
Oh Brian you are wonderful.just waiting for my granddaughter to arrive whilst listening to Roxy music. I am 66 now.back then a mere 17 year old.it feels good listening to you again.
Ich bin 85 J. und total begeistert von Bryan Ferry und Band!
No one can beat this song after roxy music.
In memory of my BFF, Sister, and Auntie who passed 2 weeks ago!
Sorry about your loss @fordori
ahhh... smooth sound of the 70s, wish I had a time machine
Great video saw it first on MTV in the 1980's it still holds uo
This music will tell our future descendants what life in the 70s and 80s was like better than any history book.
Base player had that groove down
The most beautiful video ever made!
Choon! It’s production was ahead of its time. A unique song that has stayed with me as a 12 year old kid to this day. ❤
I love💜 these campy videos that I've never seen before after following the band since 1976‼
This brings back wonderful memories. ❤
There were times when Bryan Ferry was cooler than Bowie. This was one of them.
absolutely!
never happened!
Ferry is the coolest man who ever walked the planet.
@@linden5165 haha
Mr Ferry is a genius, so very Bohemian too 😘🇦🇺
What a very welcomed apolitical refuge from the predominant very political and brilliantly "trying" pop music of the 1980's was Bryan Ferry's Roxy Music! Don't get me wrong, because the emerging politically aware rhythmic music of those 1980's was damned invigorating against the widely impersonal "disco music" of those troubled times. But it was so very necessary back then just to celebrate life with unbridled joy, and to a great extent, unbridled sexuality! Ever so thankfully, I was lucky enough to be working my ass off most of that time working to put myself through law school with this great release in the evenings of dancing my ass off in the best dance venues back then! How I wish that these present day generations and those to come could have this kind of what once very available release from daily induced angst!
This tune is too brief; you'd love to be wrapped up in it for at least several more minutes. I imagine there's an extended dance mix of it out there somewhere? One of the old DJ 12" singles?
Nobody silkier than Bryan!
Bryan ferry, and Roxy music are the epitome of suave, sophisticated 80,s individualism!!!
Brilliant! Incredible sound love that song 🤍💃🏻✨
Great musicians ( in all of his works), great arrangements, and thanks for their talent.
Absolutely just oozes class and charisma, music is pure genius 🎶🎶
Bryan Ferry .... Perfect ....
I so love this track my auntie Doreen and my uncle Bob made me listen to this track in the 70s, I thank her now
Beautiful ! everything is just perfect, Love Roxy Music .
