Star wars iii revenge of the sith Anakin Skywalker suit up in the bed of his suit of Darth vader.
His cybernetics are even more gruesome. Spinal implants, the control mechanism having spikes that drive into his thoracic cavity, a voice box implanted into his throat, replacing his larynx... His injuries are a nightmare.
doesn't look like he's suffering, which sucks because i wanted to see that, also his arms are longer than it was in revenge of the sith 0:14. Disney being Disney

@@googlesucks3163 it actually reminds me of home alone 2: lost in New York with how stupid it is. & then there's Reeeeeeeva who can do anything, knows who Vader really is & is very shouty to appear intimidating but just comes across as a child who is mid-tantrum.
The breathing sound at the end was the MOST TERRIFYING thing to hear, if you are a Jedi on the run or worse, a civilian who knows nothing and had the misfortune to meet Vader.
It’s a shame he turned to Evil. I admire Vader in certain ways- he’s a physical wreck but doesn’t let his injuries stop him. He’s a quadruple amputee with severe burns, damaged internal organs, etc etc yet he manages to play a crucial role in governing the Galaxy. If he was a good guy (instead of a tyrannical thug) he’d be the ultimate hero to look up to.

This scene really shows how painful vader's suit is for him. You definitely get a clear understanding that he has had a vengeance for obi wan the past decade

Something I love about Hayden is how well he can look incredibly angry. He has a very convincing death stare, especially in Revenge of the Sith. It’s awesome to see it again at 1:00

I would not put the scene in this episode up there with his in rogue one and fallen order that was a completely different animal.
@@user-it9go8fj2u Honestly I think the scene in Part 3 where he uses the Force to snap a child's neck for trying to prevent him from killing his father is more terrifying than the Hallway scene from R1 or the JFO sequence
Those are badass and convey the raw power of Vader, but this show definitely uses the more subtle gestures to allude to his authority. If he is willing to go that far in his methods that speaks way more to his threat level and general reputation

Darth Vader was genuinely terrifying in this episode and it was so cool to see. The way he just toyed with Obi Wan and wanted to make him suffer was absolutely brutal. It's cool getting to see the terror he was known for.
This sequence showing the physical mess he has become and the parts of the suit coming together was awesome to see but really drives home how much agony he must be in all the time.
It also really helps having Hayden back for moments like these because we saw him in the prequels looking young, handsome and healthy and the contrast of his burnt skin, scars and amputations here is so unsettling. Especially that shot where we see his face and it is really Hayden. It makes it easier to see him as Anakin, the Hero Without Fear and the husk of himself he's become. And also helps to understand why be hates Obi Wan so much and blames him for being trapped in that suit.
This was terrifying and haunting. The flashbacks combined with him being put together with the breathing at the end is the stuff of nightmares.
Love how despite Vader not having facial expressions, you still feel the terror of his presence
I love how they’re making vader seem more human but also making him the killer in a horror movie it’s awesome. Really adding depth to the character

Tony Stark suit up is a breeze. Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker is painful and this sequence shows it very well...
0:30 gave me goosebumps when Anakin says “I do not fear the dark side” and it shows Vaders legs and armor being out on🔥

I absolutely love the score for this scene! So menacing and haunting! Makes Vader even scarier. I know everyone is complaining about not hearing the imperial march, but this is just as haunting.

This scene felt like it had a really big impact, Considering how the only times we've seen vader in a state like this is very brief and we only get to see his face by the time he's turned back to the light

A Halloween special called Darth Vader
Most of the burns that Vader had are gone. His lungs are damaged and hair was burned off so bad he never had hair again. Padme would to see Anakin like this. The boy that Obi Wan trained was nearly lost.
He was lost completely at this point, only with a slight spark of light within him, for his late wife. And after knowing about Luke, this spark of light only grew and grew till he fully embraced it and saved what's left of his family, sacrificing himself in the process. Truly, a perfect redemption arc.
He lost everything to save the ones he loved and now he is a shadow of a forgotten time.
Man, that look on Vader's face is just pure hatred. And then on goes the mask which is just cold and lifeless. Crazy good scene. I've never been more terrified of Vader.
I can't for the life of me understand why THIS was not included in the official soundtrack! Absolute banger.
Seriously. This and the music that plays before obi wan asks “what have you become?” when vader steps out of the darkness on Mapuzo before their fight. They’re both bangers and show how terrifying vader truly is.
It's literally just a slight variation on the Imperial March.

I cannot find the words to describe how chilling but yet so awesome such a scene like this is!
So intense. I remember reading the Wookieoedia IIRC on Vader’s suit. It’s actually amazing how much thought went into. The breathing apparatus helps him breath but it is also protective in harsh environmental areas. It uses various technologies & Sith alchemy too. The voice modulator & appearance is for i intimidation but the helmet has advanced neural links & electronics for monitoring, etc. The cybernetic limbs increased his height, strength & power but at the cost of agility & speed - it’s brilliant that even with advanced tech & Sith alchemy there are tradeoffs like in many areas in life whether it’s it related to engineering, technology or physics. Even the cape is advanced armor wise & can deflect certain projectiles or blasters. What’s amazing is that even in 1977 they put a lot of thought & details into it which not only created a terrifying villain with an enduring mystique but it wasn’t just form with no function.
Also, despite it being extremely protective it was a hodge podge of tech that could have have better advancements & technologies despite how seemingly Advanced it was. For example, it’s stated that better & lighter alloys could have been used in Vader’s cybernetic limbs which could have made him faster & more agile. Even the suit fabrics were advanced & protective yet painful & irritating. It’s apparently part of Palpatine’s design because even though it is an advanced & powerful suit, it’s cumbersome & could be irritating & painful in order to punish Vader slightly & is apparently in keeping with Sith principles as the discomfort elicits more rage & anger out of Vader.
One things though…or maybe two. Do you see
those black biological inserts in Vader’s torso? One is at the upper spinal area. Apparently
Vader had to have some artificially organs installed. There are hoses being detached from his torso when coming out of the bacta tank & suitung up? Maybe those are interfaces to the organs? So crazy. Also I know the suit’s life support system which included assisted breathing but a feeding & nourishment system? Maybe this was for nourishment?
Something else not brought up much which is Vader’s “dual dichotomy.” He had a split personality: Vader’s persona with the small remnants of Anakin that existed but were repressed. The second dichotomy is his physical bodies. There was the strong & tall cybernetically enhanced armored suit that helped give the mangled body of Anakin a lot of his physical capability back but Vader when reduced to just Anakin’s body is extremely vulnerable. It is part of the reason Vader has so much rage as he has been deformed & diced up almost beyond recognition. It causes Anakin to lose not only so much agility & mobility but apparently his force connection & power. It’s crazy to think that even at his reduced state he is still incredible powerful even over most other force users as Anakin was naturally off the charts.
Its a fascinating look not only into the suit but what the aftermath of ROTS did to Anakin’s body physically, how its been healed & enhanced but what its done to his abilities & even capabilities like fighting but also how the physical state has affected the mental state. It may have reduced Vader’s potential &given his once unlimited power a ceiling but due to the constant agony of the physical suffering I think it kept Vader more locked into the dark side & kept the remnants of light & Anakin from resurfacing. In a way its possible the injuries kept Vader on the dark side longer & Anakin from going back to the light. Had the injuries not been so severe & Anakin’s mangled body in constant need of rehabilitation & basically Never free from suffering or pain, Anakin might have resurfaced sooner. It’s crazy to think about & one of the many reasons Vader is such a mesmerizing villain while it keeps Anakin a sympathetic figure. I mean is there a more villainous antagonist than Vader who can also garner so much empathy? George Lucas & the LucasFilm magicians really are geniuses.
Great observation. I have to disagree with you about the idea of a split personality though. It’s more that nobody - not Ben nor Vader himself - wants to admit that Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader are the same person. Ben doesn’t want to because it means the boy he raised and loved grew up to become a mass murderer. And the memories of his time as Anakin Skywalker - handsome, passionate, idealistic, loved - must be absolute torture to Vader, a man who has lost all hope of ever escaping the living hell his life has become.
By keeping up the pretence that he killed Anakin Skywalker, Vader gets to avoid the horrible truth that Anakin Skywalker - who yearned for freedom his whole life - is now and forever a slave to the cruelest master in the galaxy.
@1977Arrakis I actually agree that Vader had a split personality. From the death of his mother to the choking of his wife, an inner personality emerges within him which is different than the noble and charming man he is otherwise. That personality takes over relatively quickly when he's put into a tight spot, and eventually becomes his entire being. Vader is like Gollum, only for him the Ring is the Dark Side. And like Gollum, his light personality struggles constantly with his dark one, but is pushed away most of the time; the only difference is that we don't see it much. Also like Gollum when Frodo shows him kindness, when Vader discovers someone who he can relate to, his inner personality begins to show again. But again, it's all internal with Vader. He doesn't argue with his inner personalities, he just mulls it over in his head. That makes him more sympathetic, in my opinion. For all his extraordinary power, he is at his core a broken, insane man who's life and mind have been shattered.
Please get out more.
and that's exactly what Palpatine wanted to ensure that Vader/Anakin are kept under his leash the constant pain & suffering keeps Vader from reaching his full power there's been moments when he breaks through but he has to return to his shell to survive
Dude this man was a menace in this episode and I can not wait for the rest of the series. This man is so brutal in his prime god damn. This man alone can pretty much solo the entire sequels cast especially you Rey and all the plot armour you may have 😂

We have gotten suit ups from super heroes, like Batman, Superman, Green Arrow, Wonder Woman, plus marvel suit ups, etc. But with this one it is different. Even my looking at Vader's torso you feel the pain. You feel the pain with each robotic limb put on. Even his chest piece is sharp to plug into him. Complete opposite of any hero putting on their outfit. This scene was great.
I never expected to see everthing that was on this episode from a stormtrooper cutted in half and they didn't censor it to vader breaking the neck of a villager

Just a reminder that his lungs and internal organs were burnt to a crisp, he actually tries to whisper when he speaks without the voice modulator and mask, partially blind bec his retinas were scorched, needs to have his skin regularly scrubbed bec of his constant necrotic flesh despite being in the bacta tank for long periods, his spine is broken beyond repair that all it depends are cybernetics and his cybernetic limbs were connected directly into his nerves without any anesthetics.
All of that and he still is one of the most feared beings in the galaxy

@@MrDuckyGoosy Idk if it's broken, but it was modified and added machinery to it. You can see it when Vader's skeleton is visible when he is hit by Palpatine's lightning. It was probably modified to support the weight of the suit and to connect neurologically to his prosthetics

Gotta start off with this: it’s so amazing to see Hayden back. He was my childhood hero and for him to finally be back getting the love he has always deserved makes me so happy to see. Secondly, seeing Vader actually suit up like this is so much more gruesome than I realized. The suit is literally built into him and all the pieces connect directly into his body. It’s so brutal to see it happen like this.

Vader badly needed this element of horror. This scene and the street walk scene later on in the episode made him even more terrifying than Rogue One. Horror Vader is what makes the space opera transcend into something bigger than itself.

Kind of shows how truly evil Palpatine was. He didn't even try to rebuild Anakin or give him some minor semblance of normalcy. Just kept him hanging there by wires like a half-corpse scarecrow until he needed him for something.
