From an editing perspective, the constant camera cuts (like 4 every 10 seconds) is really disorienting compared to how this event was originally filmed and how events are filmed now.
This screams BBC ski sunday. I dont know why they do it. I remember a mate doing a media degree at uni and this is how they taught them. Its like the editor did year 1 at uni and thought now I know it all. I prefer less of the fluff, but I guess this is how they need to mive it forward to pitch it for TV. If this gets to main stream TV like Gladiators then well done gang. I just like the low key approaxh
To add to it, cutting out chases without explanation was additionally disorienting as a fan who watched back in the day. I'm sure an uniformed casual watcher isn't bothered and still interested, but imagine they cut down other sports like that without any word, just the score and time left changing...

They need to change the rules or structure to make the tournament longer. I love the excitement and speed but the matches/tournament are short. I think a longer format could draw more audience and viewers for this sport. One change I want to see is tie break. For the tiebreak, I would like to give it a few extra rounds like 4 rounds to see if the scores changes before the time-limit tie breaker kicks in.
This episode was 4 years ago. The newer formats are much better. The competition has advanced so much. There are more teams now, so the tournaments are longer. Check out the channel to see the newer competitions. They're incredible.

Doesn't bother me at slightest, I don't feel like im losing continuity of what is happening on the arena.
