    The Warriors Found Their Next Young Star Kai Sotto
    The Golden State Warriors are in need of a big man after trading away James Wiseman. Now, they may have found their next young star in 7'3" Filipino center Kai Sotto. Sotto has elite rim protection skills and impressive footwork that fits the Warriors system. He proved himself overseas after going undrafted and looked solid in summer league for the Magic. Sotto's combination of size, defensive potential, shooting ability, and playmaking IQ makes him an ideal flier for the Warriors. The one knock is his injury history, suffering untimely ailments before key workouts. If Sotto can stay healthy, he could be the next hidden gem uncovered by Golden State. This video analyzes why the Warriors should take a chance on the international unicorn big man Kai Sotto to bolster their frontcourt.

I mean, even Kuminga didn't really got much playing time despite being more athletic. they were still sent to G-league, or Benched and for wiseman who's later on got traded out. @natsumidesu8019 you not Kai. If you were Kai, then your reasoning for not being in the league is "suppression" or any other reason other than skill, then you're not going to make it. Kai needs to get better and actually play in a league that better than the one he is currently in, like Euro. 8 point 6 rebounds in Japan will not get you into the NBA. No one owes you a roster spot because of your nationality. The NBA is a league centered around the best 400-500 players in the world. Kai is not considered that in basketball circles.

    • @brittinfisher8102
      @brittinfisher8102 Před 10 měsíci +3

      You are partially there. Kai should have gone to college in the US, played G-League for years. His management does not know what they/he is doing. But, by this age, it is already too late. Character development deals with your mental situation, meaning you are not a spoiled child or ball hog. That does not apply here. Talent is what applies here. In the NBA height is nothing more than a bonus to an already talented player. In reality, Kai does not know how to properly run, does not have mental toughness, does not have the strength needed for his position and all of that is clear from the NBL. China would be a good career for Kai as a back-up player. Kai needs to do that before even that is too late. NBA talent? Next year’s center draft class is really good and those 17 year olds are already just as/more talented than Kai.

    I made my research and find out that this kid had a good basketball IQ. His visiting team from Australia stunned the home team Phoenix Suns 134-124. Kai Sotto finished with 11 points on 3-for-6 shooting from the field, including one 3-pointer, two rebounds, one assist, and two steals in nearly 18 minutes of action. He had a pair of dunks and also went a perfect 4-for-4 from the line. Not bad for his first NBA appearance. I think with proper guidance from a good trainer, this kid will part of the next modern big men of NBA like Victor Wembanyama and Chet Holmgren.

      @brittinfisher8102 Před 10 měsíci +2

      Actually, it is “did” my research. And if you knew basketball you would have realized that game was an anomaly, great for the Sixers and the Suns were caught not playing up to par and taking the Sixers seriously from the start. Sotto was nowhere near the reason the Sixers played so well and won, as Kai merely had 8% of the Sixers’ points. That game was guard and 3-pt heavy with the Sixers shooting out of their mind and McCarron dishing a whopping 16 assists. Kai had an OK game off the bench but was not really that impressive. The guards were the Bomb! For pro sports in America you do not get a free ticket! One must earn it over seasons to prove you can consistently produce. In the NBL and Japan… Sotto has proven he is far from it. In America, athletes are fit like nowhere else in the world. Just watching Kai run you can tell he is not pro level. Such will not last in the NBA, which has a very long season as compared to anything else. China is a good spot for Kai to try and get playing time.

    They shoulda kept Wiseman and traded Poole for Porzingis.
    They didn't and don't need LaMelo, Halliburton, Bane or whoever else you said, well, maybe Bane.
    They could trade Kuminga for GPii if JK is actually unhappy in his role. What i heard is Kerr didn't trust him on defense. So even though it's thought that Kuminga has higher upside, you're moving a super athletic guy who you don't trust on defense for a super athletic guy who knows your system and plays great defense. You can't always fall in love with names on paper.
    Wiseman barely played college ball and then was hurt last year. Looney played 5 games his first year, 53 games his second year, averaging 2.5pts and 2.3rb, and now he's a menace! i don't understand what the rush to get rid of JW was, and if the idea was doing right by him and sending him to a team where he can make mistakes, why'd they trade him to a team with ten centers already 😂
    I dunno how Porzingis would affect the salary cap situation but he likes to hang around the perimeter on offense, which makes him playable next to Mr. offensive rebound Looney or Draymond, and he blocks a lot of shots. Admittedly I didn't watch a lot or any Wizards games last year but Porzingis had over 100 blocks i think. Just having someone 7'3" on the court is helpful sometimes.
    Anyway, I'm glad they didn't trade Wiggins and the Kuminga/Moody picks for Beal bc i was prepared to become a Kings fan if they did 😂

Put yourself in a team owner's or GM's perspective, you have a 7 footer thin as heck and you are gonna spend money on him to "develop" him and make him stronger, instead of putting that money on developing further his skills. Then you have to worry about him being injured each and every game. It's not business worthy and that's what the game is all about now, money.

      @@airealarmour3281 I have been to the Philippines on a few occasions, and all over a good chunk of Asia as my father was an airline captain for Pan Am and United. I played a lot of pickup and challenge hoops over in that part of the world, as well as several family members. Same goes for Australia/NZ, and more. The game is getting better, but it is not like the US, or even some parts of Europe. Kai should change management as his direction has gone nowhere his pro career. China is his ticket, plus staying close to home. The NBL is just too tough for his lack of agility and fitness. As we have seen, extra size means little in the NBA.

      @brittinfisher8102 Před 10 měsíci +2

      Yes, and it was amazing what the 2 guards and forwards did! They shot lights out and one guard had 16 assists! But Kai was not much of a contributor in the win. Kai merely had 8% of the Sixers’ points, low in the rest of the stats and 2 turnovers, as many as his assists. It appears in your mind that Kai was the reason for the win, or substantially was a lead contributor is nonsense! Kai merely came off the bench and was barely effective enough to keep on the floor. The game was extremely high scoring and that was not the playoff-time Suns who were so bad they had to desperately trade too much for KD as they were not a good team up to that point. Further, they got rid of their point guard and others, at a financial loss, just to be able to stay in the playoffs in the future. Check the stats of that game! Or, watch it!

      @@mikrotech666 You know... It was news for about a day, then nobody really cared. The Suns had pulled back their starters thinking the 3's would stop... but they never did. The Sixers played their best game in years and set a record for their 3's (no thanlks to Sotto who merely had 1, if I recall). But it was a lesson learned on how not to slack off and allow lesser teams an open window... but that shooting and assist display by the starting team was phenomenal that game.

      At Sotto's age, that is entirely unrealistic. To be an NBA player Kai would have needed to have that already down at 18. Further, that kind of play/game for a center is rare in the NBA. There is nothing to suggest that Sotto could ever do that, nor is physical or agile enough to ever play in the NBA.
