In the 2.0 update, if you visit the Columbarium, you’ll find Lucy visited and left a message for all of her companions who passed. The message to David says “You didn’t take me to the moon, but you were there with me”, proving she did return from the moon.
Yea i think she left Night City like Judy.
Companions? I think you mean chooms!
i dont think she returned because it wouldnt make sense if she just came back to earth after david basically died to send her to the moon
Thanks for this!
They used a splash transition because it’s a juxtaposition to the glitch BD deaths symbolising that this time David is actually dead considering no glitching effects take place. The difference in transition also can used as a way of saying David died human whilst his other deaths symbolise his future chrome addiction and cyberphycosis after the brain dance torture
cyberpsychosis, not cyberphycosis

He died. It happens in stories. I guess Jackie needs to come back. His body was in better.condition and aradaka can't bring him back. Get the devil ending and you'll see.
The story is a prequel to Cyberpunk 2077 so in context David is living in the beta/pre released version of night City meaning the gang encountered more glitches and bugs than what we have encountered on Day 1. No wonder they’re always having a hard time while V is just brushing through the entire epic futuristic story😂
I can't see any other possible scenario for this well said.
True, this is why we can IK Adam, Adam in the anime have a lot of wrong stats
The stats weren't wrong. He was intended to be that strong but they had to nerf him after none of the beta testers could beat him.
In the game, Adam Smasher uses right hand canon to finish Johnny S, but later we can see that he is not dead as he gets to talk with Saburo himself before getting transformed into an engram. Adam Smasher uses his right hand to kill David. His right hand is probably a non-lethal canon. David is probably alive as an engram too.
Fake memories. Johnny Died in the minute he got face to face with Smasher inside 'Saka Tower. Then, a glitch, a very dry and weird cut. Johnny is a cyberpsycho as well, he probably lies to himself because of his narcissism or Arasaka fucked his brain to believe that. He didn't survive to the roof, got shot, died, one woman found his body and belongings and kept it in secret and people only found out in 2045(As said in one of Cyberpunk Red's stories).
Of course! That is what happened!... said no one, ever.
In the game he shoots off Johnnys cyber arm
@@Bikeadelic in the game we see how johnny remembers ot, but game constantly proved to us thay Johnny is unreliable narrator. According to the lore, Johnny was inside saka building when he encountered smasher, he started firing at him and bullets just kept bouncing off, then smasher turned and as story says " cut him in half with the barrage of bullets, there was surprised face on rocker's face, like he didnt expect to die there."
Or.... Maybe both arms have lethal cannons
My question is why Lucy's attempts at quickhacks were countered by a pretty fearsome anti-ice system & counterhack response, but in Cyberpunk even a novice hacker can turn Smashing Pumpkins into pumpkin soup.
LOL
Well, I guess one can say V is a whole different breed of being... One that doesn't know what ice means.
@@S1l_v2r "Where I'm going, we don't need to know those fancy words"
One could possibly argue that the Relic safeguarded V into being more resistant/resilient to counterhacks, like how it’s made a point a few times how V should’ve died from that bullet from Dex but the Relic salvaged him.
@@selfabsorbedsponge7246 protected him more than that. The Voodoo Boys’ hacking attack that kills several Netwatch agents can’t kill V, and neither could the spiked braindance that killed the Mayor. The Relic’s got something going on that makes it safeguard V from cyberattacks.
I love how he calls Adam smasher Adam Sandler at least half a dozen times in this
😈
Because like Adam Sandler, smasher was a joke! :)

I had to scroll down too far to find someone commenting on this.
I thought I was the only one who heard ir.
The tenth episode ended perfectly and managed to both spectacularly conclude the story and leave enough questions unanswered to stay mysterious. Making a season two continuing the same story, with the same characters would undo that, and just ruin it. Often times the best things are short and cut just as they are at the top. Then we long for more of them and we love them, when they get dragged out however, we can regret ever wanting more of them (looking at you GoT season 8).
You either die a hero or live long enough to become a villain.
Seems a bit extreme to me. GoT season 8 wasn't shit because they dragged it, it was shit because the narrative, the dialogue, the arc conclusion and the expectation subversion were poorly handled. Having a show with 1 or 10 seasons matters only so much if the studio genuinely cares about a story. It's not that complicated, really: plan every major point ahead, don't switch writers, don't have 10 writers at the same time and keep it simple.
There is no way of being sure, of course, because money is the end all be all of this industry, but I struggle to understand what was the point of the anime, if not to tell a story of their own. They could not have predicted it would be this success, so they could not have given it the green signal in an attempt to improve Cyberpunk 2077's reputation as a horrendous game disaster. Now, I understand people not wanting this to continue, but that would be a huge mistake. The story was captivating and had closure for many characters, but you would need just as much copium as those who think David is still alive to say that Lucy's ending is fine.
Yeah, sure, there are no happy endings in Night City...except that it makes zero sense from a narrative perspective. What is the point of telling a sad story in a sad background other than being nihilistic? I mean, if that's so, then why watch the anime in the first place if everything is meaningless and everybody dies? This is not what stories are for and I feel like there are other less sadistic ways of passing time. Contrary to that, I believe Cyberpunk had the potential to tell an uplifting story: despite all, the characters dare to live, dare to take what they want and love despite the grief that will come. When I see Lucy's arc, I struggle to see what she got from that...Her relationship with David was like 30% of the soul of the story (if not more....), and it was all for nothing. Yeah, she went to the Moon, but whatever at this point. It's a dead dream now. She will be there, but her mind will always be on David, at least as far as the show left us.
I'd love for a second season, not because I want David to come back and be with Lucy, but just to tie that loose end, do the character some justice. At least have her moving on somehow.
@@victorsouza4554 I never said I didn't want the series to continue. I would very much love for it to! Just not with the same characters. As I said, in my opinion the story arcs were ended well, that includes Lucy's arc too.
"Zero sense from a narrative perspective"?
"What is the point of telling a sad story in a sad background"?
"This is not what stories are for."?
These points of yours tell me that you either don't enjoy this genre (which is fine) or simply don't get it (which is also fine, I guess, but in that case you shouldn't really criticize it). Sad stories have been present for as long as stories have been present as some of the oldest stories in existence are sad. For a long time sad stories (in the form of tragedies) were even considered superior to any other kind of story. They were and still are appealing to people for many reasons.
As you said yourself - there are no happy endings in Night City
Something gives me the vibe that you yourself need a little bit of copium and that's why you want to see more of the known characters :D
Yep, some things are good because they end.
The story of David and the Rest of the cast seems perfectly concluded to me. I would also prefer a season 2 with a different cast as everything else would just take away from this perfect story.
If there’s ever a 2nd season, it gotta be Bartmoss story and how he took down the net that would be epic
Yeah I’m very interested in seeing more on Bartmoss; he left a lot to be uncovered/explored
Sad as it is to say very little chance we see lucy / David or any of them again in anime 😢
@@Starnesclipsso e things are good enough to get a second season and some things are so good it should be left alone as is.
I think the flash was actually the muzzle flash and the moment of David's death was in slo-mo, just like how he lived.
also David did not live in Vs Watson apartment, but he did end up living in the same bigger apartment as V in the fixer ending of 2077
How was it the muzzle flash if as hadn’t shot yet? 💀
I don't think it's the same penthouse as in the fixer ending, it has a different view compared to V's.
It's possible that the megablock penthouses all have a similar floor plan, just like the mid tier apartment's V and David lived in have similar layouts.
David lives in tower 4 in arroyo . if you look at how megatowers are built then some of the apartments can repeat design so you are right . as for the flash it could also be a charged shot from his cyber arm . people forget that charging weapons to deal extra damage is a cyberpunk thing so you're kinda right there too
11:37 disproven. V lives in megablock 10 while David lived in megablock 4. This can be seen by comparing the distance between both megablocks in reference to the Night City stadium. They appear similar due to the society's way of keeping things consistent especially among the megablock series of structures.
11:46 same with rogue
Smasher used his right hand to finish off David similar to how he finishes Johnny, but as told by Alt his memory are unreliable and according to the real lore, Johnny dies immediately getting split into two by his right arm autoshotgun and Spider Murphy was the one who soulkilled Johnny with a shard installed into him. I guess at the very least soulkilling someone or rebuilding like Smasher requires an intact brain, so if Smasher did shoot his head with his charged autoshotgun arm, there isn't any left. Also he respected David enough to offer him to be a construct and seeing that he rejects it, he honors him by making sure Arasaka can't do anything about it(like if you left Jackie's body in the game isntead of sending him to his family, Arasaka took it for sort of soulkiller interrogation, but they mostly only got data instead of the actual personality judging by the interaction you can have under Arasaka Tower with Jackie's construct in devil's route).
The cyberpsychosis quickhack is part of the game but it simply shows there's various of conditions that can be classified as cyberpsychosis. Even in the game the victim you quickhacked seems aware enough they're being controlled from what they said, so for the quickhack version it controls their actions while they're mostly aware and can't do anything about it, while the one David and Maine experienced seems to be real psychosis.
About the moon, some diary shards by Sandra Dorsett kinda implies Night Corp had something shady going around there like using some AI to control people without them being aware, kinda like with the Peralez.
Also spoiler about Delamain, he's kinda actually an Ai from beyond the Blackwall as told by one of his rogue personalities instead of made by any company.
You are a holy grail of information
Well done friend.
Holy shit, you're right. That's why Delamain doesn't say where he's from.
On top of the tower, Morgan Blackhand fought smasher right? If so, than I know where ya got your info from, and that it's good.
@@drysoup3017 well technically Silverhand kinda switched place with Blackhand at the rooftop during the escape in the flashback, either because it was his ego to think that he had heroic death or just being an engram with incomplete memory it fills itself with data related with the event. So he thought he had a rivalry between him and Smasher but it was Blackhand all along.
In regards to the cyberpsychosis quickhack, that's a quickhack you can find and use as V, some of its effects are described as inducing a cyberpsychosis-like state in the target, as well as setting the status of drones, mechs and robots to friendly. To me, that implies the quickhack does not actually cause psyberpsychosis. But then, who knows? The actual cause of the condition is kept deliberately vague and open to interpretation, so there's a good chance we'll never know.
Hmm, ill take a stab at it and say that since you need immuno supressors to counter cyberpsychosis, its a response from your human body. Thats also the reason Adam could keep himself together instead of just mindlessly killing stuff. Then theres also the thing that MaxTac are cyberpsychos caught alive and trained to be soldiers so maybe, just maybe, cyberpsychosis' effects are treatable, but not completely removable. That leads to my conclusion that cyberpsychosis is caused by your implants interacting with your human part of the body, maybe the nerves, and causing some sort of hormone imbalance that leads to psychosis.
@@mmfreshmeat2860 didnt the writers confirm that cyberpsychosis is purely psychological and non-physical? Then that makes me wonder why immuno-suppressants even exist in the first place. In a literal sense, it would prevent the chrome from being rejected by your body since its suppressed immune system is incapable of fighting it, then why would that prevent somebody from “running off the edge”? Idk I think thats a pretty solid plot hole but one that doesnt matter cause the series was fcking awesome.
@@weakest17yrold no they didn't it was said to be both psychological and physical and the nervous system being overwhelmed is a real thing as we're seeing with the usage of BCI testing like this Doctor also covers, he covers a lot in this area being a gamer himself ttg and otherwise czcams.com/video/yQcmymaIpVE/video.html
@@gharm9129Mike Pondsmith posted on a Reddit thread explaining that Cyberpsychosis is a result of the over indulgence in cyberware augmentations causing base mental health issues to become exaggerated as a person loses their "humanity" as in Cyberpunk the act of installing cyberware directly harms your humanity and empathy.
The reason "High Functioning Cyberpsychos" exist is the same reason that high functioning sociopaths exist as well. In Adam Smashers case, the Borgware he was couldn't harm his already deceased humanity and lack of empathy allowing him to keep adding more and more while remaining "stable" as he was already a psycho to begin with.
For why there’s no season 2, studio trigger is very well known for following through on their no second season policy, regardless of its profitability. Once they end a series, they end a series; it’s not a marketing tactic nor a bluff, it’s an intentional stylistic/creative decision they rigorously maintain.
If the edge runners were to get a second season, it’d indeed either be with a movie or different characters like ssss gridman or with another animation studio
0:53 ‘Adam Sandler’s weaponry’
Sorry, it was just too funny
3:54 ‘He got murked by Adam Sandler’ lol
The only thing that stand out to me disputing the theory of David being still alive is that I don't remember if it is a opening/closing credit thing or if one of the official music videos have it in it, but there is a very clear and specific scene with Adam Smasher putting a very clearly defined hole in David's head. I think his head literally explodes if I remember the scene correctly. In any case it seemed pretty final in that scene. On the other hand, who cares about that scene, I am perfectly happy if they bring David and Lucy back in Season 2 and give them a happier ending.
Except there’s absolutely no plans for a season 2
@@Turkeysammich3000 up to now.
In Night City, there are no happy endings.
That would ruin the show and the theme of cyberpunk.
@@DivineNaruto no not really you can still become a like Johnny and come back. Arasaka is known for doing devious shit it could be possible they have David engram
V and David live in different megablocks, but as all the rooms are pre-fabricated, it's likely that they just have the same design of appartment that's mass-produced for the megablocks.
Damn... lot of effort put into this video 10/10. 🔥 Looking forward for the next one!
Really appreciate it!! :)
I mean they straight up said that they never thought it would be this successful, so season 2 was never planned; it's not that it'll never happen, just never planned. The producer mentioned he wasn't sure if it would be season 2 or something else. That might change in the future, but the fact that it succeeded in every possible way (by reviving the game) does increase the chances of them continuing with anime. The CEO mentioned that they really want to do more shows like Edgerunners. Now whether that's continuing David's story or getting a new crew is another subject, it's CDPR call. Maybe we might get something in Phantom Liberty hopefully. The important thing is CDPR and Trigger are open to doing more work together, so hopefully we get another banger.
Very well said, as always Jan!
Trigger is infamous for not having 2nd seasons though, so far only SSSS has a 2nd season and thats not and Imaishi work
@@HelloOnepiece Panties and Stockings got a season 2 and they were working on Inferno Cop season 2 (unfortunately the main actor died during preproduction). SSSS got 2 seasons and a movie. The reason why most of their shows get 1 season is because they are original standalone shows with a mostly complete story. Cyberpunk is a big universe and there are plenty of stories to tell even if it's not a continuation of David's story. They could do another standalone story with some tie in like SSSS Dynazenon/Gridman (A lot of these people also worked on Cyberpunk). There's another comment (Jose Urbinas/Bernie) on this video that goes more into this topic than I explained here, but there's more to this than just Triggers unwillingness to revisit previous work. Maybe, they changed their stance or something, but it does seem like they are open to doing more based on Homma's/Imaishi's interview.
I saw in another comment section someone saying it would be cool if they did the other background options. David's the street kid, season 2 could be corpo or nomad. It would be rad to see the different perspectives.
Who is trigger...ive been looking..
Something you missed. Besides Claire at Afterlife in the anime you can see Rogue in edgerunners as well. Dont remember which episode but its when David sneaks Rebecca into the Afterlife smiling in front of the bar.
Ep4, yeah she’s the security gal for the afterlife!
@@bumperjumper shes not the security guard, she is the owner. she smiles at them as an acknowledgement of sneaking in and essentially waiving it off as ok, instead of having them kicked out.
@@TheSpencer033Correct. The events of Edgerunners all happened very shortly before V's own story, as well, so Rogue would definitely be the owner at that point.
She didn’t stay on the moon, if you go to David’s memorial, she wrote “You didn’t take me to the moon, but you were there with me.” If she stayed, she wouldn’t have been able to write that.
Adam Sandler 💀
That shit through me off 😭
That Maine line "maybe the apple don't fall far" deffs points to David being his son
The Cyberpsychosis Sasha uses is a nod to the game hack (ability) you can use. It causes enemies to attack anything in their vicinity. I don't think it's ever acknowledged as an actual status that causes the condition outside of battle given that the ability causes the target to self destruct after all hostiles have been terminated, which is not one of the symptoms of the actual cyberpsychosis condition.
Amazing connection between The World and The Fool cards perfectly paralleling the story of Edgerunners!
Love it when you say: Adam Sandler instead of Adam Smasher!
It’s the canonical pronunciation
3 in the morning with some great food after studying super high AND YOU DROP THIS.... YOU DONT MISS
Thanks so much!! Means a lot fam!
the sheer amount of puns you put into this script ... I both applaud you and flip you off lmao
Just want to note, V and David have different apartments. The 1st episode shows he lives in Megabuilding H4, while V lives in megabuilding H10. A corporation likely owns both megabuildings and used the same interior layout, much like how many apartments owned by the same company or landlord can have similar designs. My own apartment is a carbon copy of the one next to us.
2:04 And this theory, what is Arasaka and Adam Smasher got to the moon? That would be a good way to continue Lucy’s journey. They they have to keep her.
im hoping that they're are some dlc tie in's to to the show. Like going to save david and lucy comes ask you, (V) for help.
@@lukecage7003 That would be a great idea!
@@lukecage7003 Holy shit. I think you're up to something, dude.
Several things lead to cyber psychosis, the thing is it is directly tied to your humanity and empathy capabilities, but several things in the game show us that Night Corp, the original founders of night city, is able to give anyone cyber psychosis on a whim via brain/radio wave transmission, so it’s both, it’s created but the people who get it do not have much humanity in the first place. Also in the game there’s a contagious quickhack daemon that is called cyberpsychosis, it just makes the enemy attack anyone including their friendlies so in the music vid Sasha is just using that, it’s not a groundbreaking secret
3:05 the call was about the sandevistan, and no, Maine not receiving the sandevistan doesn't counter this point since we know Maine paid upfront for it and didn't receive the product. The call was gloria telling Maine about the sandevistan and making a deal with him purchasing it. So it was a strictly business call where they made the deal, but gloria couldn't deliver the sandevistan since she got called in by the principal and got in the accident shortly after.
I interpreted that she went to the moon to die. She took a tour cause it was the quickest and easiest way to get there to feel close to David.
I don't see how Johnny could have been in David's head cause he didn't have the Relic or exhibited any of the symptoms V does.
They already advised there won't be a direct season 2 of Edgerunners but advised they want to develop more anime series/spin-offs of Cyberpunk
If David turned into a construct then he died a second time when Alt sucked up all the constructs
Rouge is also in Edgerunners when David only just joins the team and they're doing missions together building rep and music is playing. She's in the same outfit as she wears in the game :)
Yeah she’s the security gal who lets David and Rebecca through!
@@bumperjumper shes not the security guard, she is the owner. she smiles at them as an acknowledgement of sneaking in and essentially waiving it off as ok, instead of having them kicked out.
Love your vid CHOOM......!!!!
Thanks choom!! U da best
11:26 Easily debunked by the fact David lives in Megabuilding H4 located in Arroyo while V lives in H10 located in Watson.
Lets also add the fact the layout simply isn't the same, the footage shown in the video is inverted.
Mike Ponsmith addressed why V is able to become highly resistant to cyber phicosis: Because Johnny is implanted inside of V, it acts like a buffer between him and the cyber phicosis. That and V because the strongest edgerunner known to date.
In episode 8, when David was staring at the TV, a commercial about a trip to the moon for 250k ed was played. David was surprised that it was cheaper than he expected, and Lucy replied that it was *a one-way ticket* . It could mean that Lucy does not want to stay on the moon.
The theory of cyberpsychosis being controlled by an outside source makes me think of the plot of Ghost in Shell from 1995 where people’s cyberbrains are being hacked. When they are it changes their memories, perceptions, and even personalities. It is the basis of the philosophical tones of the movie on how if all that can be hacked and changed, are they even human.
The idea of Maine being David’s father is interesting when taking into account how fast he is to start patting David on the head, like after the first gig. Many anime use this as a sign of affection and encouragement between parent and child, but it could also be used for other reasons. Like a teacher and student if they share a close bond for example, but normally not with someone David’s age.
The Black Unicorn katana seems to be a reference to Ixion from Final Fantasy X. It deals electrical damage that increases further if a sandevistan is used and Ixion is a summon that is a unicorn with electric powers.
Ghost in the shell was for sure a huge influence for Edgerunners. Adds even more credibility to that theory, thanks!
Yeah the pat on the head felt very “father-figure” to me
I didn’t notice that reference/tie in to ffx! It’s literally my fav game of all time. Great observation
@@bumperjumper thank you for replying. The ffx thing just hit me as I was typing the other stuff.
Would make sense that ghost in the shell was such a big deal. There is the daemon in the shell reference. Also Judy’s image on the holo is a ghost in a clamshell. She has a tattoo of it on her left arm, I think
@@bumperjumper I forgot to mention, there also seems to be a From Dusk Till Dawn reference. There is the bar the Dicky Twister where in the movie it mostly takes place in Titty Twister. Minus the vampires
David’s engram being implanted into someone else and actually taking over would be a pretty cool sequel setup if cyberpunk ever gets another game or show.
The thing is
No head
No engram.
The two megacorp does indeed have their reaches on the Moon. However, it is still a friendlier place than Night City due to the reason that the main faction which control it is EU's space agency.
Also the lore stated that the moon has two colonies on it, one which is more like a smaller, sub-urban community.
Rogue also makes a brief cameo in ep 4 I believe during the sequence when David is training to be a better Edgerunner
Every time you say Adam Sandler I can’t get the image out of my head 😂
Cool video. Well done.
The one great thing about the Cyberpunk _universe_ is, it can be episodic, and the fanbase would be ok with it. They could come out with Cyberpunk 2.0, and a new anime that has little or nothing to do with V, David, Silverhand, etc. other than like "references", and everyone would be cool with it, because the world is so rich.
Thanks! And yes, it’s like Night City is the true “main character” that they can keep building off of. Love your Delita profile pic btw, final fantasy tactics is one of my fav games!
Also in the opening art scene there is a reference to the show "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?". David is depicted looking like "The Creeper" or "Mr Hyde" from the OG "Scooby-Doo" cartoon. This might be because Mr Hyde is obviously from Dr. Jeckle and Mr Hyde. Where the Dr uses body altering science to turn himself into a monster
Calling adam smasher ... sandler is hilarious i know im late but none the less im here lol
In episode 2 of Edgerunners when Tanaka was being showed David’s use of the sandevistan on his son, the guy on the holo told Tanaka that “unlike the soldier, this student displays no apparent side effects stemming from the implant”
“I believe his tolerance for cybernetics could, in fact, make him a prime candidate to test THE product.”
Could the heavy emphasis on “THE” be referring to the chip that V installed with Johnny’s engram?
I’ve had that question pop up multiple times actually. Unfortunately it seems very concrete that by “the product” they mean the cyberskeleton. That’s what implied but I do think the cyberskeleton wasn’t super duper special considering what Adam smasher was packing so I’ve talked about a theory where the actual product test was the copying technology in the Arasaka truck. Their ability to capture David’s mind in the truck could have been the true test
@@bumperjumper oh interesting, thank you!
@@bumperjumper it's definitely the skeleton, and the reason for it was that they wanted to mass produce it
@@bumperjumper But they also said that the skeleton was originally supposed to be tested/worn/used by Adam Smasher. Why would they let some random student, who just happens to have a higher tolerance test out this top-secret military tech instead of A.S.? The only reason I would understand is if the skeleton is potentially too dangerous for the user and they would rather let some random die if it malfunctions than their top tier soldier.
Now i have allot of hope for sequel :D
thanks for making awesome vids. i hope ur right about the marketing tachnick and were gonna have aseason 2 and most importand we hope dave to be alive.!
You can use cyberpsychosis in the game. Its extra fun using it on cop mechs near cops
David's not stuck in a simulation his jacket would have never been recovered
In the first minute you legit said "Adam Sandler" for Adam Smasher lol :D
I love how you switch between Adam sandler and Adam smasher
"Your new life awaits" is something like a Blade Runner reference
"A new life awaits you in the offworld colonies, the chance to begin again in a golden land of opportunity and adventure"
in the video when you switch topics right after the Maine being David's dad thing, Maine says something very interesting supporting this theory "maybe the apple doesn't fall far". Maybe implying that he knew al along that David was his son. Might've been something else though but just sounded fitting after you talked about the possibility
Sasha didn't invade Biotechnica in order to find info about her mom. She went there to steal valuable data for Maine. She discovered the data about Biotechnica's involvement in her mom's death accidentally and decided in the moment to reveal that info to N54 News. That is why Maine said "data received, get out now" and began to freak out when Sasha didn't leave and cut her connection to him.
She's just another person in Night City who's personal tragedies lead to a tragic ending.
True: very well said!
After seeing the show, lots of theory vids and a lot of ppl comments, i get that it's really hard to make a seasson 2 where we all get our desired "non that tragical crushless ending". The only way i think it would be possible, it's that all what happened from JK to the end is a neuro dance. This can bring a whole new story line full of ethics and philosophy, but on the other hand you break a perfectly blend history. Personally, I don't know which I prefer, because although personally I am ashamed and sad to feel a kind of mourning after watching the series (two days ago), at the same time I feel great respect for a story capable of connecting with me at such a deep level in just one afternoon.
In my opinion, season 2, if it's even getting released, may be a completely separate story with all the other character. It's pretty possible that Rafał may actually make a new story. Something like in True Detective where each season is a completely different story.
gonna need some arm upgrades if I wanna make reaches this far, too
I don’t think AS wouldn’t have left anything of David as he most likely wouldn’t araska to replace him with David if it came to it
I don't thank the end was a simulation simply because we can find Rebeccas gun close to where she died. As well as the in-game conversation with Falco, where he leaves us Davids Jacket with El Capitan. If that isn't enough, the fact that the David Martenez drink exist at the Afterlife means there is confirmation he didn't make it.
Thoe I will admit his Parallele with Johny Silverhand is interesting. Minus David wasn't a Sleezy Drug addled Rocker anarchist.
Johny only remembers his part of the Raid on Arasaka, but forgot that he didn't come up with the plan. Silverhand was part of one of several squads that day.
God i am SO invested in this universe and story it would kill me if there never will be a s2
Same :/
Lol. I didn't know that Adam SANDLER had a role in Edgerunners! XD
I think the theory about the cyberpshycosis is probably true, considering Regina in Cyberpun 2077 commissions V to take down and send in cyberpshycos to her lab(?) so she can study them. After about 20 or so cyberpshycos she sets up a meet with V and says that she just doesn't believe that an extensive use of cyberware is the cause of cyberpsycosis, thought it was kinda cool and wanted to share.
While it would be pretty awesome to see a season two I doubt they would make it otherwise they would have to add more Easter eggs, weapons, outfits, etc.
Moon tours signs are for the groups there to gather. Pretty common in tourism things.
The thing is: the moon (and all of space really) at that time belongs to the highrider faction. They are extremely anti corpo (culturally based on the EEC and Pan African Coalition) they used to be workers, but overthrew their corpo masters in a 7 hour revolution.
Also if i am not wrong i saw that in the scene where david zips rebecca away from the guys with the sandevistan in the bar, rebecca introduces david to a friend or something, and that person looks very simelar to rouge, silverhands love interest ykykky
Yeah that’s a good one, shoulda included that one
That person was Rogue, not just someone who looked like her. Rebecca wasn’t friends with her, Rogue was just amused and waved them on through to enter her bar.
@@SoaringxDragon yeah thought so, i just didn't know if it was confirmed or not that it was rouge
V lives in megabuilding 10 (China town) David lives in megabuilding 4 (Santo Domingo)
Could they be owned by the same landlord? The similarities in apartments are uncanny
@@bumperjumper Different landlords in a totally different part of the city. Are you purposely acting dumb or you just not getting it??
David was in mega building 4 in Santo Domingo, Arroyo. And V lived in mega building 10 in little china. Similar rooms but that's probably due to similar building plans.
0:54 Adam Sandlers weaponry seems full of surprises 🤣🤣
I just noticed in the forward and reversed headshot scene for david in the credits, the other person looks like a silhouette of blackhand
Whoa that could be big
0:53 "Adam Sandler's Weaponry" broooooo
:D
2:04 is actually very curious. The official Cyberpunk lore states that the moon is home to two very prosperous cities, these cities grew in popularity after the residents of outer space declared their independence from the “European Economic Community”.
Maybe it’s propaganda? Maybe the corpos don’t want anyone to know that the moon is actually a fairly nice place?
The idea that it’s propaganda makes sense; I doubt corpos would want people fleeing to the moon. Great observation!
The Highriders took control of Luna and they are very very anti corps
That's why in 2077 they declared Luna "in crisis"
David lived in megabuilding 04 in Santo Domingo and V in megabuilding 10 in dunno where but quite far (Watson maybe ?)
You can find the edgerunner logo on the wall next to the megabuilding 04 and a small quest talking about David and giving you his jacket
In this quest, Falco contact you and tell you than they're hiding, using "we" since everyone died except him and lucy, I guess Lucy is at NC
And if I remember well, the event in edgerunner happens in 2076 (one year before V) so it's normal than Claire know him and you can buy a "David Martinez" if you talk to her
Oh and about the cyberpsychosis, there is a real debate about the society creating an environnement for the illness to be developped, than a illness do not exist if we do not put a name on it (for exemple: no one complained about burnout or depression before scientist talked about it)
It mean than cyberpsychosis can exist from longer than we tought or also is just a "variant" of another psychosis
And we do see in the game than they're looking for a psychological treatment for the cyberpsychosis and we see than they do not know it very well
So I think the debate is open to the cyberpsychosis, but like everything, it is more about an ethical position than a real truth
(I hope I was understandable, english isn't my mothertongue)
I'm begging to see edgerunners expand the idea of rockerboys
3:50 « since he got merkt by Adam Sandler » 😂😂😂
;)
would love to see a season 2 where Lucy saves David as an engram post 2077, and they get him a good body to host in before going to the moon together.
In the game delamain is an AI from the other side of the black wall that took over a taxi company, and it’s one of my favourite characters
cybercycosis could be mind control of mr blue eyes. Attacks the mayor we see in the game, let’s peralez as mayor(could be his ‘dead’ brother controlling his mind) and when we find out that there are a number of different people being mind controlled they could be in “cybercycosis” due to the guy going to attack the previous mayor before river killed him.
David and his mom lived in Megabuilding 4, the same one you find the Edgerunners BD outside of. He didn't live in Megabuilding 10 where V lived.
Megabuilding 4 exists in Cyberpunk 2077 but is not accessible.
It makes sense that all of the Megabuildings have similar decor for the basic level apartments. It is essentially low income housing and is mass produced to save money.
0:54 "Adam Sandler's weaponry", lol. Can't believe no one else caught that.
You can cause cyberpsychosis in base game too, requires good OS and ceberpsochosis demon hack
It would be so cool to have an alternative engram on the biochip instead of Johnny. Like what if it was David.
Cool video and Adam also survived a nuke so I kinda of doubt Adam was killed by v
Thanks and yeah exactly! If they were able to bring back Smasher from that, imagine what they could do ~70 years later
for the whole V and david apartment thing , are we forgetting there's multiple megabuildings around night city ? specifically V's watson megabuilding and david's santo domingo megabuilding .
You can also cause your enemies in the game to undergo cybercycosis using a quick hack
In Cyberpunk 2077 the player has access to that Cyberpsychosis quickhack, and from its description i don't think that it *actually* induces cyberpsychosis. Its description says "Induces a cyberpsychosis-like state in the target, causing them to attack both enemies and allies. Sets the status of drones, mechs and robots to friendly, making them turn against your enemies. If no other allies are nearby, the target will commit suicide."
So it explicitly states that its only a "cyberpsychosis-like" state. But also if it were true Cyberpsychosis then why would it also work on Robots? And I dont think that is just a gameplay thing, in that clip you see the netrunner about to use it on robots. And also true Cyberpsychosis doesn't make someone commit suicide if no one else is around. I think its more like taking over someones body to force then to turn on their allies and then kill themselves, but in the cyberpunk it would make a lot of sense to call a quickhack cyberpsychosis - people in cyberpunk understand that when someone goes cyberpsycho they start attacking everyone around them.
I like Maine being David's dad 100% that is one of the best I have heard
Do you think it’s convincing? Or just a fun theory
I think convincing, how else would she know him and to add to it I say she was part of his crew ie medic, till she fell pregnant with David then she tried to get her life on track so david would grow up better and not have to struggle like she did
Maybe I'm crazy but smasher's gun lighting up looks the same to me. Both in the show and in game when and if smasher's catches you in sobaros pent house
honestly, considering Arasakas significant interest in making David a test subject and significant lack of moral or ethical hangups, I could easily see that flash being an AV with Smasher being ordered to back off and instead take him into custody.
call me an optimist, but frankly though, knowing anime as I do, if you didn't see the body and instead got a cutaway transition, doubting it, just makes sense.
To be an engram you need to be Alive
David doesn't even have a head.
@0:54 I am either delirious or you said Adam Sandler 😂
I just can’t with the Adam sandler constant ref
remember that 10:11 card was when you had to pick an ending in the game
Knowing the way cd project red works the final boss of the upcoming cyberpunk dlc is gonna a completely gonked David that will say things like "to the moon" or " I made it to the top mom are you happy"
The anime is confirmed to be one year prior to the game for a phone conversation you have with falco
Cyberpsychosis quick hack in the game is more likely giving the enemy falls visual information to attack comrade and it causes the person to commit suicide if there's no target that is not a symptom of regular cyberpsychosis
0:55 He just talked about saving him as a construct...
it could be a digitizing cannon
Strikingly similar to how Johnny Silverhands went out, and this was ~50 years later so yeah very possible
Davids apartment is similar cause he lives in a mega building but a different one than Vs, davids during 77 is under quarantine. Probably a different landlord however.
Was Arasaka looking for Special test subjects not to test the skeleton but to see if they could produce high functioning cyberpsychos? They knew the cyber skeleton could only be used to its full potential by a high functioning cyberpsycho. That why they say that it was so post to go to Adam after field tests. But perhaps the Skeleton was all along designed to turn "special" individuals into high functioning cyberpsychos, their own army of Smashers. I think we see this process with David. During the call with Faraday if Rebecca hadn't injected him, I think we would have seen David blast straight off the edge and keep flying. The key for being able to get to that level would be different for everyone. That is was what Arasaka is looking for. A key they can preproduce. For David that key is his connection with Lucy. His empathy, humanity, and being surrounded by people who cared for him allowed him to go far. But with his mothers and most the crews death and the gap that came between them while Lucy was trying to protect him. Drove David down the path of simple psycho. Then to find out she still cared, that there bond was still there and threated by outside force would have gave him the push. HE would have been a different person after under those . Two version of him, one from her in danger and one from her being just simply being there with him. Both with a root connection, their bond. Something more than just the chemical reaction we feel when we think we're in love. They have something SPECIAL, that's why i think they never just play off their relationship with just "oh i love you david ooooh i love you too lucy!". But now i'm just rambling and thats all really really out there. Sorry know this is full of grammatical errors but whatever choom like I give a shit. lol. awesome videos dude! thanks for them!
