    Thyro-stress! That discussion made so much sense. I have anxiety + graves disease. I've found fatigue to be a problem with hyperthyroidism, because although I'm always 'on', it's not genuine vitality, it's more like being over-caffeinated or 'wired but tired'

      This makes sense that stress will cause the tsh to be lower. My tsh has consistently measured low since it’s first reading about 30 years ago.

    This is a fantastic presentation. Thank you so much! I am a nurse and have been under chronic stress for years. I knew something was wrong but my physician wouldn't test my labs. I found a new PCP who checked my thyroid levels and will be checking my other hormones next week. My TSH and T4 are low and it presents as primary hyperthyroidism.

    Absolutely awesome information. Thank you for sharing. I have had Naturopaths suggest there might be thyroid issues, and hormone imbalances; yet I have struggled to get doctors to listen to this. I have always been labelled with anxiety, yet have known something else was going on with my system. My nervous and digestive systems are not good at all.

      You see I had an opiate addiction in the past and the reason I used to use and found opiates attractive was because they were helping my thyroid symptoms. Well I went to the hospital last night, since I haven't taken my medicine in a long time, and I had a relapse recently because I was on Suboxone but I kept having what felt like withdrawal symptoms so I relapsed. Welcome to find out my thyroid was so, well is so overactive that it was causing me to not be able to function a normal life. But now that I have my answers and I'm getting medicated properly, my symptoms should disappear and I should be better again within a month or so. You have no idea I actually wanted to lose my life because of this. It was so brutal, but now that I know what's wrong I feel like a lot of stress is gone, and now I can work on myself and get better to live a normal life again. Your videos help me gather up the courage to go get it checked and my levels are so so bad they said I could have had a heart attack. I am so happy now, I wake up sweating every day, even this morning I woke up sweating like a pig and then freezing because of the sweat. A lot of it was from anxiety because of not knowing what was wrong with me, but also now I feel like I can recover again and stop taking the opioids. I may not even need to be on Suboxone if my thyroid is better because most of my cravings were due to my thyroid symptoms, depression, anxiety, pain and weakness, all of those symptoms the opiates were taking away. So now that my symptoms will get better I will have less desire to even pick up another opioid. I've watched your videos for a long time and you have helped me so many times that's why I called you my guardian angel:-)

      @@DocSnipes Hypothyroidism typically (but not always) has high TSH. The idea is that your body increases TSH (hopefully) in response to low circulating thyroid hormones. If your body is chronically low, the TSH will be chronically high. From your cited article:
      "A high TSH level indicates that the thyroid gland is not making enough thyroid hormone (primary hypothyroidism). The opposite situation, in which the TSH level is low, usually indicates that the thyroid is producing too much thyroid hormone (hyperthyroidism). Occasionally, a low TSH may result from an abnormality in the pituitary gland, which prevents it from making enough TSH to stimulate the thyroid (secondary hypothyroidism). In most healthy individuals, a normal TSH value means that the thyroid is functioning properly."

    Can Hypo- manifest with ups and downs, especially with hashimoto's? I have antibodies in a previous test

    • @DocSnipes
      @DocSnipes  Před měsícem

      Thank you for watching the video. Yes, hypothyroidism, especially with Hashimoto's, can cause fluctuations in symptoms. The presence of antibodies suggests that your thyroid function can vary, leading to ups and downs in how you feel. It's important to work closely with your doctor to monitor your thyroid levels and adjust treatment as needed. Make sure to discuss any changes in your symptoms with your healthcare provider.
