I actually had a lot of success running a list with shadow king- took me all the way to infinite. People really never expect it and it’s amazing at stealing 8 cubes from shuri/destroy/monkey decks as long as you can throw priority. Putting a taskmaster back to 0 is an insane t6 play
I love go comprehensive this guide is, as someone who played a shit ton of various surfer builds including reaching infinite last season with it, i agree with almost everything you said, would like to point out that after countless of testing i found out the sera zabu absorbing man shang shi variant to be the most effective surfer build for the current meta
I don't usually comment on videos, buy holy, everytime you post a video i spend the next days playing your decks, i'm not really good, im stuck at 75, but i definitely enjoy playing and watching you videos, the level of production you have is great, and make every deck easy to follow
My She Naut-y deck has skyrocketed me from rank 20 to 68 in 2 days. The Hood, Sunspot, Quinjet, Psylock, Armor, Viper, Storm, Shang Chi, Enchantress (mainly to counter Patriot/Dino), Moon Girl, She Hunk, and Infinaut. Pretty straight forward moves, but bouncing Hood to the other side with Viper, putting Sunspot down, using Psylock turn 4 to skip turn 5 and have a Infinaut with free She Hulk, or use Moon Girl turn 4, skip or low cost 5, and have two cheap (possibly one cost) She Hulks. Shang helps turn 6 because usually opponent will have priority. Just a lot of good synergies that should be showcased in a video of yours!
Quinjet helps get super low costs from Moon Girl or other random cards placed in your hand, and Storm helps control Sunspot/Armor lanes early and keep that control all game. Enchantress is there to counter all the heavy Patriot and Dino decks that I’ve been seeing throughout my climb, but you can easily replace her with Cosmo (help cancel Wong decks), America Chavez (safe turn 6 play if you don’t get She Hulk or Naut, and helpful when opponent destroys top card w/ Yondu), or Sentry (Viper can push over the -10, then armor on top of it to avoid opponent destroying it)
Congrats on making it to 100. I watched the stream a few days ago and it just goes to show how little distractions (ie streaming live, reading comments, etc...) can affect playing the game. You played for over 2 hrs and made virtually no progress. You play on your own w/no distractions and within a day or so you've made it to 105. I was watching a stream yesterday where the person was at 98.4, made it to 99.7 and after all was said & done, after a 5+ hour stream, they ended up at 99.1. The game should be fun to play but they need to add something to the game so it's not this level of frustrating. They need to implement a 'cube free' mode where people can just practice playing, experiment with new decks, etc.. without worrying about falling in rank, winning/losing cubes, etc.. and just enjoy playing Snap.
@@Naigus I think in the previous batch of game updates, they mentioned something about making a room where you can test out decks & stuff but no mention of when it would be finished.

Sorry for the spam cozy, but one final comment, MAGIK a great replacement for sera, without cost reduction you are able to hit a turn 7 silver surfer and absorbing man. This also gives you an additional draw due to the extra turn, if you’re struggling to draw the cards you want, run magik, youll be left with 2 cards in deck at end of game. If anyone has read up until now thankyou, silver surfer is my fanatic specialty, great archetype combining stats and utility a true swiss army knfe, happy snapping my friends

I know this is probably clunky, but I had an interesting thought experiment with Wave into Onslaught into Sera to play six 3-cost cards or Wong, SS, and Absorb with one other 3-cost.
no joke, made my final climb from 95 to infinite with a mr negative surfer deck. honestly felt better than a lot of the sera builds for me because it has such a higher ceiling in total power but fairly similar floor. Also Ironman & mystique have just felt so good in the current meta that I've been thinking of going back to the drawing board of the sera builds with a core of wave, sera, ironman, mystique, and surfer.
When I was early Series 3, a deck very similar to your Cozy Surfer deck got me to Infinite. But now at Series 3 complete my win rate with Surfer decks is atrocious. There is so much Cosmo running wild because of Shuri, Surfer doesn't match up well with Galactus, because it needs a couple lanes to work with, and Sandman crushes any big turn 6 dreams. I find myself retreating 9 out of every 10 games because my opponent can easily screw with every plan I have at this level, and I just have more success with other decks. Not a complaint about your video, though, Cozy. Great content as always, and informative for those who might be in a tier where this stuff will still work well.
Surfer has always been one of my favorite archetypes...a Pat/Surfer deck was one of two that took me to infinite for the first time last season (along with Ultron surprise). Thanks as always for the stellar content, sir!
Loving the content here. I've been enjoying the standard Surfer list, but was looking for something more spicy. Excited to play the greedy list. Can you please refer to your opponent as "they/them" instead of "he/him"? That way it'd feel more inclusive as girls and enbies play the game too. Great graphics as always. I especially loved the turn-by-turn part with cards popping up, it's easy to see how much time and effort went into these. Thank you for your effort!
Made most of the climb with a hit-mjolnir deck but switched into silver surfer to finish it off. Thanks. Feel like big take away was to drop the Wong greediness which made surfer almost more surprising for opponents as I took their cubes.
Hey Cozy, just got Negasonic in a cache and I would love to hear a little bit on how you play her effectively. I know series 5 content gets trashed in the comments, but maybe a few short clips with commentary on your logic when you play her. I'll probably have to wait until she is series 4 for more content on her. The only decent play I've made with her so far is putting her in storm lane with priority. I guess the Shuri nerf buffs her slightly as well. Any advice is appreciated!

I beat one with the iron Patriot deck and it was so satisfying. And the funny thing was all I did was the patriot blue marvel and mystique. And all of that was on the last turn. It was honestly satisfying

Zabu is a sneaky option to chuck in a very naughty surfer absorbing man on turn 6 additionally absorbing mans solver surfer buffs surfer himself as well
I think everyone should take a look at their surfer deck and consider replacing their worst card for Rogue. Usually Mr. Fantastic is a solid option, but I think Rogue’s value right now is way too big rn to pass up

Not at all. He sends the card to a random location. Old Aero offered to much control of the enemies cards that wasn't really in line with the design philosophy of snap (the same philosophy that explains why players can't choose if they want a bear or bird with snowguard). Juggernaut sends the cards to either location while Stegron moves a random card. These two are powerful without giving the player the complete control of their own and the opponents cards.
Surfer is amazing but your ordering on best 3 cost cards isn't very good imo. Shadow King is miles better than Gambit, I've had many games where Shadow King is worth 15+ power in his lane. I would argue Shadow King is going to win you more cubes than Storm. No mention of Kang in this deck. Kang is huge for defensively saving cubes in your worst matchups.
Ngl, I don’t like Odin in the surfer decks. I generally find that I either want to do other things with my turn 6 or that the value he provides just isn’t enough to beat out most decks if you don’t get very specific draws. He just feels like a “CZcams highlight” card where you can pull off some crazy stuff but most of the time he’s a dead draw.

They should have a card that starts as a 1/1 and grows once per turn to 3/3

Brood on storm is usually unnecessary overkill, cover the flood lane with maximus or wolfsbane on top of storm and zabu or polaris

I like to have Juggernaut alongside Kingpin on this deck. And Magnetio, just in case the play with Wong and Odin doesn't work.
I think you can replace Odin with Onslaught it would be way better Cuz Odin makes the buff twice, but with Onslaught the buff is 4x times
