I'm I the only one getting dark chocolate Eva Marcelle? The voice, that beat face but that extra dose of melanin! Stunning woman, great video ❤
Roquell Millington omg you’re sweet !! She’s gorgeous !! So I’ll take it haha! xx Thanks so much !!
@roquellmillington I was looking at her thinking the exact same thing, she resembles and sounds like Eva Marcelle wrapped in BEAUTIFUL chocolate! I ABSOLUTELY love and appreciate this tutorial! TFS! @loveglam Can you do a makeup tutorial, yours is Flawless! ❤
I couldn't remember who she reminded me of until seeing your comment..
I went back and yes she is the really brown version of Eva. Beautiful she is.
I totally agree.
Everyone’s complaining about the time it took. Y’all sit for 3-5 hours for your lashes lol , this is beautiful ! Go gehl !!!
Yes!!!!!!!
LMFAOOOO, the girls are silent 😂
😳😳😳 people do that?
It's not long if you play a video, podcast, audiobook, etc. Most people spend more time than that doom scrolling.
I love it when we sisters come together and give each other props.
yasss I love the " we cannot just do the wash and go as 4C girls" that is so true! patience is key!! thanks for this tutorial
So... your curls are popping...BUT!!! Honey... your makeup is the Hollywood 🌟 of this video!
You're sooo sweet! You inspired the title of the makeup look btw! I just uploaded a tutorial now on the look. Check it out czcams.com/video/O-fHqhmV_ZE/video.html
My hair is not this curly... actually wondering if I’m 5c
Tonee Shelton moisture moisture moisture I do LCO method I wash it while its cornrowed style 1 braid at a time or just leave it alone and spray it like a chia pet when I wear my wig
She finger coiled her hair thats not curls. Her hair seems to be straight no curl. Just a different texture. What I have learnt if you do not have naturally curly hair is not easy getting curls by using products. what the products do is to define the curls - meaning when you wash your hair it has a certain curly pattern when you apply the curling products it helps to keep those natural curls in tact and not have them getting loose and frizzy. I think by now people would have an understanding that the products do not make non curly hair into curly hair...
Keep moisturizing maybe get a steamer
Nico Burton I’m sure people are gaining an understanding of that now 😊 All great points though !!
dandilyonz cassandra very true ! All good points !! This is my second big chop so defs have a 4C texture when it’s grown out 😊
Hair is cute Sis..... Finally a for real 4c. A lot of these Sistas are 3b,4b claiming their hair is 4c and the products they use don't work in 4c
I think I might be 4c but how do you know, my hair looks a lot like yours and ive done this style less the part.
@@winniewalker4402 dry hair gets confused for 4C all the time. When your hair is wet with water, that’s your natural pattern. When my hair is wet it has zero definition, I have 4C hair.
I’m learning this as i take the natural journey you have to get products that’s for your hair texture
Or maybe they relaxed it little bit
Random comment and not sure if you will see this, but I just cut my hair today (4/23/2020) - Yes I cut it during Quarentine- and I was excited and I still am! I have a short TWA like you do in this video. And I kept looking at myself in the mirror like "Do I look ugly" but I came across this video because I want to grow my natural hair out and looking at your face structure, it's kinda similar to mines haha and you look absolutely beautiful! And I promise I just got a boost of confidence just seeing how you rocking this style and your makeup! And I was like..okay yes I can make this work! lol Hope my hair grows better this time!
Lady, I just cut mine too!! This coronavirus gonna having everyone coming out with a different hair style🤣🤣
Babygirl I sure saw this comment and it warmed my heart! You are beautiful and I can't wait to see how you're rocking your beautiful new cut! DM me a pic on IG!! ❤️
@@SagittariusChic888 Facts lol!
I feel you! I did a big chop and went natural just before COVID-19. I felt ugly for so long and I still sometimes struggle with finding beauty in the mirror. However, I know I am still the same person and you are too. Hang in there girl! Give your brain time to catch up with your new look and you will see the beauty again!
Ma'am!!! I cut my hair about a month ago, because of quarantine and the "why the hell not"... And I'm struggling with the "am I cute?" This video help me so much. I will be cutting up some t-shirts and over wetting my hair when I style. I love the tips! I cannot wait to get up in the morning and utilize these suggestions.
Is high time we blacks start slaying our Afro . We’re fearfully and wonderfully made
I rock mine and lovin it!
I've been watching lots of videos and I regret not going natural the last time I had my hair cut SUPER SHORT but I'm about to cut it hunny!! My daughter been natural for 2 years and when I say her hair is long and LIFE!!
Amen!!!!
🗣🗣🗣🗣💯 I was rocking mine, but it got too long (well big lol)... so back to Locs I went!
@Bubble Buster "some"
Finally someone who shows the reality in getting your curls. Thanks for making mention that it takes a little time🥰
It's my pleasure love! I feel you and made sure to show it because a lot of ppl don't! xo!
I’m guilty of the “hands on” addiction. I’ve played in my hair for as long as I can remember (66 yrs now). And I didn’t know that natural hair would take so much time/work. I should have known since our hair IS special and delicate.
Wow for me it's different. I used to lose a lot of time on my relaxed hair and now I only style my hair twice a week, I feel blessed hahah
Its 2020 and I went natural finally in 2016. It's so so so much work. I get my hair in a protective style and leave it for months until it Matt's up washing , twisting, buying products omg! I feel like I'm taking care of a baby or a pet.
I love fidgeting with and playing in my hair. Straight haired people really are missing out..
This is the first time I've ever felt genuinely excited to try a new product and technique because nothing really works for me and now I see a reason why❤❤❤
I loved this video! The emphasis on patience and time is so brilliant and exactly what we 4c naturals have to understand. It takes patience and more patience. Thanks so much for this. Enjoyed it so much!
I'm sloooowwwlly accepting the fact that I'm going to have to take the time and patience to do this if I want my FRIZZY high porosity hair to be defined like this. I used to take the time when I had a twa but then my hair got long and I got lazy smh.
MsStacyYvonne girlllll I know the feeling !! That was me too when my hair got longer ! Hence the second chop lol ! But this time around I’m promising myself to have the patience to do this ! You can too! You got this!!
I have high porosity hair too but for me damp and not dripping wet hair and curl custard with a little gel works well.
If you have that much frizz and high porosity your cuticles need to heal, that ia your hair. Protein oils, coconut, black castor, shea butter and NATURAL henna powder. You can heal the hair.

Ok…just finding this video and I can’t tell you how grateful I am! First time being natural since I was 5 yrs old and had no idea of what products to use after the big chop”. Curls are poppin now! Thank you!
Very helpful! I haven’t defined my curls yet but totally confident in trying after watching your video! Many thanks xx
Love the before and after hair textures...I like that my hair can be transformed into what I want...curly, puffy, afro, semi-curly, kinky...versatility is a blessing, but patience is the key! Thanks for sharing...your make-up is flawless too!
Hello! Thank you for being honest about the REAL process in doing 4C hair. My hair would never turn out the way I wanted it to and I would be so fustrated. But I learned so much about how to care for my hair! I hope to see more hair videos soon! 💋

This is absolutely gorgeous! I am truly blessed that I found your video. I am 60 yrs old and had shoulder length relaxed 4c hair. Did the big chop in April 2018 then again a couple of months later. Hola. Tengo 53 años y apenas inicio mi transicion. Con la duda a esta edad aun crece??? Saludos
This video is dope! I love the sidebar concept! I have 4C, low porosity, low density, thin width hair so this video is like the blue print. I've had some form of loc'd hair all my life and I did another big chop recently, but I'm not planning to regrow locs again. I am literally starting from scratch. I starting doing my hair in the shower, and sitting under a dryer everyday; and it's tedious but my hair has never looked so healthy. I had no idea how beautiful my 4C COILS are before now. I love them!
You make me excited to wear my natural hair! I needed this video to gain the courage. Love your hair beautiful woman!
I just cut my hair ! And I’m glad I found your channel, my cut is almost exactly like yours
Thank you so much, girl! I am by far not hair savvy. I have 4C hair and I am just growing my hair out of a really low big chop. I had no idea what to do with it. Today, I am rocking my curls that you taught me to do from this video. My next challenge for myself is to braid my hair, which I will use your tutorial to help me do. I feel so excited to see that I am actually capable of doing my own hair! Thank you again. Your video was like a 4C video for dummies. God bless you.
Aww this comment just warmed my heart !! So glad I was able to help my love ! You got this! Enjoy your curls and then your braids when you do end up doing them! xo
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!! I'm a newbie for styling my natural hair, ~1.5 years. I'm was one of those people who use to pay for someone to style my hair. GOODNESS, who knew it would take SO LONG to do my hair? After watching your videos and taking your advice, I'm now more accepting and patient for the time it takes to perform, what I originally THOUGHT to be difficult. I've learned that the quantity (time to style) yields a much better quality (longer lasting style). I've gone from my style lasting 2-3 days to lasting 6-7 days! Thanks again. 😆
Trust me ..u r the only person I have seen so far representing us natural hair gurl... thst dont mix ...some ppl b like I wake up n wash n rub some cteam.it curl n them.gone..nothing nuh guh suh...thank u lovelyglam

This means soo much! Thank you soo much love and I am soo glad to be able to help :) Happy transitioning babes! xo
This is the first time I have seen a 4c hair blogger define the curls like this. When I first went natural, I needed this information. It took me 8 months to figure out how define my 4c hair. When started using Kinky Kurly Curling Custard my curls were defined and moisturized. I totally agree with your tips because I do the same thing but with different products.
Delois Ballard girl you’re I love kinky murky too !! I used to use it here and there! I’m glad we have similar tips ☺️

Totally! Her makeup is everything!
These are finger coils. That's a different technique than natural curl defining. Your hair is really pretty though. Moisture is the key to any curly hair.
MiaNaomi Post I agree ! Moisture is the key 🙌🏾 Glad you enjoyed the video love !! xx
Glad I scrolled through comments. This are fingercoils I thought maybe they would be natural curl forming. Wanted to know for my DD. Great video though.
Well, thats what a lot of “wash and go’s” are, except they call it “shingling” which is pretty much the same as finger curling. So basically the STYLE/LOOK is a wash and go but it’s achieved by a shingling/finger coil technique for most 4b and 4c hair....and even some 4a types do it too!
@@RalOnyes yes also deep conditioning once per week will moisturize and cause better absorption of products
@@brwnsugarish and this is the part that I think many of us skip or half do, with the conditioners, I am seeing young girls with damaged broken hair but more than likely they aren't conditioning first, just like all foundations to grow, it must be nourished...
YES! This is everything I needed to hear having 4C hair myself. Thanks!
You are an inspiration of confidence, patience, and curl love!! Thank you for your video!
I have to say I've watched many videos on how to really define my curls, with my 4C hair and your video is the only one that made it simple and clear and easy to understand what to do. I tried it last night and today my curls were WELL DEFINED and poppin!! And, they lasted all day. Finally no frizz!! Thank you thank you!! You are amazing and your tutorial saved me! Cause I was slowly giving up. 😁😁
Your hair is beautiful. I just did my fifth big chop (it's been about four years since the last one.) This time I was getting rid of red dye because my grays kept insisting on reappearing. I needed this reminder of what to do with my short hair while it grows! Thank you.
You are so welcome love ! Welcome to the short hair club! 😊
This was full of good tips and I love love how well spoken she is! Great job!
Thank you so much for making this video! I've been freaking out trying to get my hair together and now I know exactly what I was doing wrong thank you so much ❤
Thanks for the t shirt advice for drying my hair instead of a towel. I will discontinue using the towel and love your video. One more question how can you tell what's the texture of your hair
Finding the right products to work in your hair is a task. Eco styling gel is cute, but my hair laughs at it in my face 🤣. I'm going to try the Aunt Jackie's gelee. Thanks for this video
Cmisah right. Real cute and real glittery like dang...
Try Miss Jessie's hair products
Have you tried layering products that work together?
Curling cream/butter and eco styler/wetline?
@@iateyursandwiches I started doing that and got better results. But some products work better than others for me
IT QUACKS 😂😂😂😂 laughing is cute
Yesssss Girl! Thank you! Finally a video that HELPS! I wish I could show you my before and after 😍
THANK YOU!!! I have 4a-4b hair. I can always see my curls when I wash it but its a little straighter in the front. It's fine, thin, soft, and I don't have an abundance of strands on my head. Not a great combination. I'm 61 and Babeee when I say my curls are popping now because of you it's an understatement. 4a, b, c, d, whatever you want to call it this teaching works. I also got compliments. They thought I used rods. I did what you said, but I used what I had in my house available to me at the time instead (kinky curlly curling custard). I did use the cantu also. The struggle is so real for some of us. I'm so so happy 😊 and love ❤ my hair now. Looking for the next video on how to maintain it. This video may have been 5 or 6 years ago, but it is still so relevant for us women today. 🙏🏾 for you.
This is a great video for 4c girls! I big chopped a week ago and to say I’m struggling is and understatement. I definitely have to develop the patience to do a wash n go! Which other youtubers make it seem so easy.... thank you for your honesty!
This means a lot to me! Thanks so much for receiving the honesty! It’s the reality of things but the end product makes it all worth it 😍😍
I want the curls but I don't care enough to go through another hour of separating and spraying. The 45 mins. in the shower, washing myself and my hair is enough time used. Good bless you women who put in the time to separate 1/2 inch sections and spray with water, etc. I now accept for me that a low afro is the way to go. I finally figured this out. Wow.
Haha! That works too girl !! Rock your Afro ! I do that sometimes too!! 😊
I'm 42 years old and this video literally turned on a light bulb for me about my own hair. Thank you!
I have been trying so many products on my hair and this method is the best thing I have done for my hair omg. Thank you
Outstanding video! I appreciate how frank you where about investing the hour it takes to complete this look. I've had close female friends across the rainbow of race/ethnicities as a photographer who deals with models. All of them spend at least 1-3hrs a week on their hair routine. It's just part of their feminine lifestyle. If you can't/don't then you have to question whether you are serious about wanting nice hair. If you don't think you're worth 1-3hrs a week, then you need to examine things. The time passes regardless.
I have depression and sometimes struggle to even get out of bed but trying to look after my hair more x
Interesting. It's literally IMPOSSIBLE for 4C hair not to curl. If anything, it curls too damn much lol
It curls but after it dries it loses the curl, that's where water and product come in to hold the pattern.
Thank you!
@@redcardinal4 if 4C hair ever lost its curl after it dried, it could never be 4C. Our hair is never NOT curly lol.
@@redcardinal4 it loses the definition, not the curl; the curl will always be there unless you relax it or straighten it.
Prince XL I have 4c when it goes dry it looks more frizzy than curly.
Thanks for sharing your method in such great detail this is super helpful. I love how you explained your process of getting such defined curls on 4C hair while doing your hair.❤️🙌🏽
This video was spot on for 4C hair. I tried the wash go and it was a hot mess. I see now I need to put the effort into my hair to define the curl. Thanks sooooo much.!!!!!
My hair is 4c. I do not dry my hair at all after rinsing out the conditioner. Also, I rake my curling product through my hair and my curls pop.
Nzinga that’s awesome babe 🙌🏾! It’s called the shingling method. Glad it works for you. I do that as well when my hair is longer. But finger coiling I find works best for my hair whilst short.

I'll be honest...I have NEVER seen a video basically explain how 4c gets curls...I have done texturizers, perms (aaaand then wash it that day lol), blowout, twist out (which doesn't look like these long haired ladies), aaaand nothing looked like your curls. It NEVER crossed my mind to even try actually curling it with my fingers! I was gonna try a texlax like today until this video so I may try this for a few weeks... thank you soooo much for your video! It means the WORLD to me!!
I have watched a few videos on 4c hair and by far i enjoyed yours the most . My hair is a 4c whew chile type situation i have been keeping it wrapped up and im ready to get my curls poppin like yours ! So thanks for taking the time to educate us 4cers.
The coconut may be too heavy for your hair. Normally if a product just sits it’s not penetrating, I had to move to a lighter oil Argan and almond work best for me also not styling on soaking wet hair, I am low porosity 4c. The struggle is real. Yours looks great.
Veronica Smith yeah coconut tends to be too heavy for low porosity but this one works for me compared to others ! I also use lighter oils too here and there. And girl I feel you on the struggle 😩
I’m a 4C low porosity girl. Try the Rhassoul clay to define and soften your curls. For really dry hair I used an avocado, one egg yolk, mayo and honey. I was quite impressed with the moisture and curls. Let me know if you try either one.
I definitely will be trying this out ! Cuz the middle of my hair tends to get really dry !! Thank you !😊

Your so beautiful you remind me A bit of Angie Stone💕
It took you 50 mins? I have 4B hair it takes me about 3.. 4 hours give or take 😭.. yea patience is key ! I only finger coil my hair once a month and I ensure it lasts awhile that’s the best thing about defining my curls !
It’s because of beautiful natural wearing hair wearing women like you that make me now love my 4c hair, I actually know what to do with it now! Thank you!!!
I don’t know how I found this video but the fact I was wondering what style I should do in my hair today (my length is similar to yours, did a chop a few months ago). Let me get up and mimic this style. Love it!! Just gorgeous all around.
Just a tip for anyone, if your 4c hair isn’t curling with water or conditioner, use the pearly braid out from mane choice. It’s my go to if I want extra defining without any frizz. I don’t always like gel so I only use it sometimes.
Loved this video. Especially because I just cut my locs..

Girl I said the same thing. Goodness.....There should be product that will define your curls.
Way too much. It’s not curls it’s coils. If you have curls you don’t have to do that much manipulation, it curls up on its own.

Coming from a 4C male I appreciate this because this is my 4C I see a lot of people say they have 4C but their hair isn’t nearly this level of kinky. This was so helpful! Thank you so much for the advice and your honesty about having patience because that is key with our hair.
Exactly! We definitely need patience and lots of it!! I'm glad you found it helpful love!
I just twisted my hair following your instructions and I love it! Thanks so much!
I will sit my tail down to achieve this definition. This is a great video. My only queston is, how do you maintain this for a week?
My hair is shoulder length and I've had mine in for 2 weeks. I put then up in loose balls at night, let them lose b4 I shower so they absorb steam, I oil, fluff and they're gorgeous. My son's hair is the length of hers, he does the same thing. ..minus the ponytails and they're just as nice, I retwist his monthly. He washes them weekly.
Bonnet hair... and then let the shower steam (not full water wet, unless you're washing it) your hair, fluff & pat w/oil and go!!
