@@PeterGrinnin I will explain brother, what is a chance? whenever a player shoots whether on target or not, is considered a chance, a player could be shooting with 4 defenders in front of him with no hope of scoring but it will still be recorded as a chance. So basically when said player has the ball and chooses to shoot, depending on where he is on the pitch, how far he is from the goal, how many defenders are there in front of him, basically all the factors which define 'difficulty' of scoring that shot are considered to give the xG of that shot out of 1, the easiest shot that can be scored will have the highest xG of 1 and the more difficult it would be like 0.1 or even lesser. So having a high xG can be accumulated by taking a lot of bad shots from a good position as well. basically meaning not able to finish well from good positions

I honestly think that Roberto Martinez made a huge mistake by letting Pepe and Ronaldo for the entire 120 minutes. Obviously, they are the most impactful players in the squad. But if we practically analyse, Pepe and Ronaldo were exhausted physically and mentally. No fake, no hype. I think Roberto Martinez could've kept R Leao and bring Jota and Antonio Silva after 90 minutes. Portugal could've easily won had they brought young talented players.
