My first setup was an 870 wingmaster, dove seat, yentzen duck call, hip boots, and a camo hoodie made of cotton. Had tons of adventures and froze my ass off. 40 years later I've got a heated blind on a jon boat. Dreamed of it for years.

I have a spot that’s like 10 minutes from my house that I hear is good timber hunts but it is also part of a nice pond where ducks dump like to land. So I’m thinking of buying me one of these kayaks for next years hunts and try to see how I do it there.

@@wademello5800 We got skunked but it was still worth it. Saw a lot of ducks and geese, they just weren't having anything to do with our decoys. Hunted a lottery draw in Magee Marsh on Lake Erie. The sickness is beginning to consume me lol.
I'm 53 and I still blow thru some rounds before settling down and shoot better. I think when that feeling is gone I will hang it up and stay on the porch. I am pretty sure I recognize the drake with the frozen poo, I whiffed on him last week in western Iowa and that's when he shit himself, sooo your welcome.
You hear of any luck up in the Tuttle creek/milford area? There’s been consistent flooding throughout the year. I’m heading back home in a few days so I’m hoping to shoot a few at my spots up there.
You seem to really know how to put them in the decoys. Do you mix your geese and mallards together or you keep the geese seperate? Off to the side? You mix your teal in with the mallards? Sorry so many questions but i gotta know you ways man haha
Newbie here. (Stupid questions ahead) 1. How do you know which ducks are which when they are flying? 2. What happens if you accidentally go over the limit of ducks? 3. How do I start hunting? Again, I've never hunted just very interested.
1. Search waterfowl ID and start bird watching. The more you hunt/bird watch the easier it will become to ID birds. 2. If it’s an honest mistake, immediately call the CO/Game Warden. They most likely won’t do anything, probably get a slap on the wrist. I’ve witnessed guys getting checked by the CO, a couple guys were upfront and told them they accidentally were over the limit. The CO just took their extra birds and that was it. I’ve seen guys try to play dumb when being checked, the CO took all of their birds, and shotguns, and decoys. Read the regs and follow them, and be honest with the CO’s. 3. Contact a guide service in your state.
