The technique that helped me keep the panels lined up perfectly was to use a threaded needle and actually take one stitch to keep the images steady.

Jenny, I wished and Pray that you will see my message. I am now 60 years old. I have been on a rollercoaster ride since year 2011. I was an over the road truck driver & I had to come in off the road that year. So, here I am, disabled and not working. The first few years with me not working I went stir crazy. I have worked all of my life. Then I found you on CZcams showing people how to quilt. You made me to love quilting. You have actually saved my life and insanity and I would love to Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Watching you on how to quilt made it so easy to learn. I have learned a lot from you!!!! This was part of the reason I started quilting. I plan to make another in 2023. If using fabric, the trick is to find one that provides the best variety of blocks. A hinged mirror lets you preview for size, and also help you decide on using either a 60 degree (six pieces) or 45 degree (eight pieces) ruler. And don't forget to put a large piece of the original fabric in the quilt back, like the truth window in a straw house.

Our quilt guild did this as a mystery quilt pattern one time. My Mom had bought me some wild bright fabric from Hawaii. I hated it, it was so wild. It made the most beautiful blocks and I too used black as my background which was unheard of in those days. I had used the black and the wild fabric with the idea that if I didn’t like it I’d throw it out. Everyone agreed it was the most beautiful quilt of the day.

@@eleanorsnyder3919 It really is amazing how a quilter can take a real crummy print but use it in unusual ways and it goes from ugly duckling to a beautiful swan.

This was awesome YAY Jenny!!! I immediately thought of Kaffe Fassett fabrics for this quilt. I’m in absolute love which is odd because I’m a pastel kind of gal.
Every single week you manage to surprise & delight me so much. I’m going thrum a difficult time in my life right now. It’s VERY difficult to get my husband diagnosed with dementia it seems. It’s going on a year that nobody wants to diagnose him properly OR try medication ((?) I’m at my wits end not knowing what to do.
Jenny thank you for your weekly videos, they bring a bright spot into my life right now. It really helps due to feeling so isolated as though no one wants to help.

    Hi Jenny
Everyone needs praising once in awhile and I just wanted to tell you how much you have helped me in my quilting journey. My grandmother use to quilt and my mother. Both have passed away. I never thought I'd be quilting, but in the last year I have put together 1 full size and 4 lap/baby quilts. Each one has been a challenge and unique quilts. But I've learned so much from your videos! I cannot tell you how much I have enjoyed this. I've downloaded many of your quilt patterns and I make at least 1 block of each pattern I download, just for the experience it gives me. Your a delight to watch and you make the seemingly impossible an adventure for me.❤. I love this pattern and I'm anxious to try my hand at this. Thank you for your very sweet spirit and for all the help you have given me over the last year. Your a beautiful lady with such a cheerful spirit. God Bless you!❤

Some notes from my sewing lair: (1) I found that threading dental floss (you could use any sturdy thread) through a needle made a sturdy and secure (I took a stitch and then tied a knot topside of fabric) hold for my fabric. (2) Also worth noting that there is only one straight of grain. So if you are flipping things about, be mindful of bias on the outside edges. (3) If you take a small clip at the top, you will know that is the interior (if you prefer to keep straight of grain on outside). (4) You can square up your hexies by putting triangle corners (in a complementary/contrasting color and create a lovely frame for each block. Happy new year to you and your team.

I love that you made the strips 5 inches. So many patterns call for 3 inch strips and it becomes very daunting with so many pieces

By laying your pin flat after going through all 6 layers, you are skewing the layers. Better to keep the pin straight up and down, then use a second pin to go in sideways and pin the layers together.

I love this idea of using panels. I made a kaleidoscope quilt years ago with a tie-dyed print fabric and I loved it, but I never thought of using a panel, how clever! And I could think of so many panels that I would love to use for this. I also laughed at your quote of saying that if you don't like a print, you haven't cut it small enough. I made a chenille quilt using all the fabrics I didn't like because I could hide the hideous ones in the middle and you would never see them as a whole cloth, lol. And as a bonus I made 10" square blocks so I could get rid of them faster. I didn't cut them smaller, I made them bigger. Happy New Year to you and your family! And thank you for all your videos.
