As a Manchester United fan after watching these highlights, in pure ability and technique, and football IQ have to put Dennis bergkamp, in my top 3 even ahead of king Eric, Dennis bergkamp is one of the greatest players to ever play in the premier league along with Henry and Cristiano Ronaldo, forget the fact that shearer scored more goals and is the premier leagues top scorer of all time, he ain’t got half the tech and football brain of Dennis bergkamp, shearer ain’t starting for that arsenal team of the late 90’s/ early 2000’s ahead of bergkamp, Henry or even Ian Wright, who I always preferred as a all round footballer to shearer as well!

@MDBD I've noticed he gets frequently underestimated by younger fans who are too young to have watched him. A lot of these young bucks have nothing but stats and CZcams highlights to go by when it comes to classic players, so their assessments tend to be extremely ropey.

He was a killer in front of goal, but also a maestro in preparing goals for others. Messi-esque. Messi and Bergkamp are the only players ive seen in the past 30 goals who could score goals as easily as prepare them.

14:02 the way DB10 shifts the ball from his right foot on to his left to guide the trajectory of it towards the direction he’s running is so subtle. I’ve rewatched this multiple times and I see so many subtle things I didn’t notice before each time. Iceman honestly doesn’t get even half the appreciation he deserves nowadays.

The way I would describe his play:
The Ball ALWAYS FELL under HIS SPELL and he studied its trajectory before he recieved it and he RARELY SMASHED IT into the GOAL.
Wrighty, Fabregas, Anelka, Henry and RVP had the perfect mentor to learn off and a certain Freddie Llujnberg enjoyed his services.

Much respect Rants for this, have never seen some of these goals/assists before. My favourite Prem player, absolute joy to watch. Read his autobiography, ‘Stillness and Speed’, to understand his philosophy, and then marvel at how he integrated that into his game. For me, ahead of Henry as the greatest Prem player
