I worked at a call center lasted for 8 months before I got fired for call avoidance. Kept getting yelled at and my adhd Brain was working over time to keep focused. Supervisor told me I was the worst call avoider he ever seen. đ. My first major accomplishment
Was it accidentally or straight up?
Does the company's name start with Re and end with Cx
gimme the company name so i can apply đ
been reading through the comments, some odd ones hu? i think call centres get a bad rep because a lot of people who work for them are young people without much adult life experience or work experience, and actually call centres are best suited to people with quite a mature mindset. you need to be able to empathise with human beings that are having issues, theyre probably stressed theyre calling you because something is wrong with their product/service and theyve been in a call queue for 20 minutes. but you also need to be able to stay detached from their emotions and remain calm, positive, not absorb their stress.
ultimately work is work, if you have an 8 hour shift doesnt matter what ur doing, its 8 hours of your life doing something someone else wants you to do. you dont need to absorb stress or become emotionally invested in it, just do your job and pick up your pay cheque.
Its nothing to do with a person's age, call centers are vicous, 80 percent of customers in most call centers are horrible callers thatl have no problem being nasty and abusive because they are not in front of you. Yes you try to calm them down but that's not easy , and when you say the right mindset and detach yourself, we'll that isn't goof makes you sound worse and robotic and customers know that. Call centers go through enormous amounts of staff
@@sineadwalsh8429 you need to be mature enough to realise people have had a bad day, they have spent 3 hours trying to fix their broken internet followed by an hour on hold in a queue after 3 months of their net going on and off and they are stressed, pissed off they have spend a lot of money for a product and its broken. theyre angry.
you need to realise that and not take it personally, you can empathise with someone without allowing their emotional state to influence your own. that takes a level of maturity. therapists speak to really depressed and angry people all day, they dont get depressed and angry, but they still empathise with people. yeah it doesnt necessarily have something to do with peoples age because people can be 50 years old and still have the attitude of a child, but there is a link between age and maturity and it takes having a mature understanding of social situations.
â@necaacen it seems to me that you're just excusing terrible behavior. Idc what kind of day you're having, that doesn't excuse being a asshole.
I agree! These people don't know you, why would you be offended by what they're saying? You are representing a company....so essentially you are an actor for those 8 hours, so act lol and when you're done put your character away and resume your life
@@sineadwalsh8429Yep, thatâs why they have a big turnover. Call centers are just jobs you can make a quick buck and leave for a way better job.
Just love how u manage your WFH routineđ
love this video! idk why but just seeing even one person doing what you were planning to do gives you confidence in a way, all the other wfh days are like tech examples etc. Problem is Im looking for a wfh job because of my current lifestyle (a carer for family member) but thats also why it seems impossible, dont think I'd be able to work uninterrupted in a family home . enjoyed your video!

What I remember from working in a call center is that you were getting paid for your availability, regardless whether there were incoming calls or not; âtime passes, wage flowsâ principle. You were praying for the boring days at work, especially during holidays. Overall, however, it wasnât such a good experience. Iâm grateful for what I learned during that time, but I also hope I wonât have to do that again. Sometimes talking to random people for the entire day makes you want to isolate because you get fed up with people, and you just want to be alone, without anyone shouting at you.

Just wanted to see some vloggs about Call centre and your video popped up. Tbh, whether it is a young person or adult you can't stay in the same job for more than 2 years its a waste of time. Listening to the same complaints and telling the customer the same things and maintaining your patience, being calm when they get angry. Been looking for work from home jobs for a while now. Do you have any companies you can suggest?
Is your company hiring? Where can I apply if yes?
no company is worth expending 'beyond my normal functioning capacity' energy for.
if it begins to affect your mental and physical welbeing raise it with the employer immediately and tell them that you fear your productivity will suffer and/or decline and you will not be able to give the same output as you would if you were STRICTLY doing your CONTRACTUALLY AGREED hours.
no company out there is worth more than the contractually agreed hours, always remember that

I start training next month for a remote position in insurance for a company, Iâm excited because I want to work from home( 1st time mom with a 4 month old). I have a family member who works for the same company and says they are flexible with schedules and they have a lot of stay at home moms who work there remotely as well. Im hoping I will be able to have my baby home with me while I work. My husband will be home the whole time I work because he works midnights, but he will need to sleep at some point too during the day. During training we are still planning on taking him to our familieâs to watch so Iâm not distracted while training so I can take in all the info I can. Im planning on feeling it out to see if it is something where my baby can be home with me during the day where I can tend to him if need be like feeding or changing. My sister says she thinks I will be able to have him home because Iâll be able to be âawayâ if need be to tend to my baby. But I will see how it goes fingers crossed.

Can someone tell where to apply
Hey I have a few questions, sorry they're back to back
How long are your calls usually?
I saw that you say you make about 15-20 calls a day, is this hard for you to reach or is that coasting?
On a scale of 1-10 how stressful is it?
Are you able to take care of yourself fine while you're working?
Hi, thatâs okay! I no longer for a call centre now but I can still answer your questions. Usually the calls lasted anything between 5-8 minutes but depending on what type of cal it was (complaint would be 10+mins!). The 15-20 calls a day was when I was on a quieter call line but the general lines I was taking up to 60 calls a day. The job was very stressful but I had to keep reminding myself that itâs just a job and to not get myself worked up! Hope that helps!
I work as an armed guard at frost bank at the gate. Today they told me I canât thumbs up people, I can only wave. They then told me no AirPods. I asked the janitor about his job and told him about mine. My manager calls me to tell me Iâm not allowed to recruit other contractors to security ??? Not my intentions but okay. Iâm DREAMING of a work from home position. I want to work for frost as a call center agent to get paid $20 an hour instead of $17 and to have a regular schedule and to possibly work from home and not carry a gun to work. I hope they hire me! Iâm going to meet with someone who Iâm paying to help revamp my resume today.
Whatâs the company you work for May I ask
Whatâs you account? Iâm on the Training period at the moment that will last for 2 weeks.
I too get those red marks but mine turns into like a massive giant splotch. It freaks me out. It looks like I have a disease. But itâs my nerves. I get it when Iâm happy, mad, sad, anxious etc. I hate it.

Hi Q how do u apply for these type of jobs home base
Hello from the States! I'm a WFH Customer Service/B2B Representative for a Fortune 500 Company that shall remain nameless. This video is quite accurate, except I am married with a four year old, so as soon as I "clock out" for the day I start my other job as a husband and dad. Pretty much the same, though. My office is my man cave! Where to start though? Not the worst job I've ever had, but not great either. I recommend NOT working for a company that does furniture as the furniture industry has gone to hell. Then again, I wasn't aware when I took the job that I was going to be in the furniture industry...so...
Avoid leads like a plague, as the surest way to get good reviews (which our metrics are based on) is to get the customer off the phone quick. Learn all your tools and know your company and job like the back of your hand and you will do well. I have accepted a job offer for the government for better pay and benefits. We'll see how it goes.
i worked from home,it didnt work for me, everthing went against me and i left after 1 month and 2 weeks.i had worked in a lot of call centers before this for 13 years and i have to say it was one of my least favourites.I dealt with customers on a phone network.issues they had where phone related ones.the disciplinary aspect of the job wasnt good for me and the call after call scenario was tiresome.if the job can work for you i would say it is good.i wouldnt recommend a work from home after the one had.
Oh no, Iâm so sorry WFH didnât work out for you. Personally I love WFH as Iâm very much a creature of habit and love to be in the comfort of my own home. Maybe it was just the company you briefly worked for that gave you a negative experience but the company I work for I donât have a bad thing to say about, unfortunately it is just the case of trial and error when trying to find the right job for you. I hope youâve found somewhere that you like working for now? All the best! xx

Call centres should be banned. After 4 years of being stuck in one in a city where I don't have any family and friends has been the worst time of my life. Call centers arenât your friend and donât care for you regardless of you have so called structure and discipline. Itâs dehumanization and brainwashing.
I have dreams and goals to chase. This industry is a huge fraud and they only appear nice to keep everyone in check. Youâre just a number to them to figure those quotas because management donât wanna get on phones regardless if they do lmao. Good luck. Itâs a lot of brown nosers in that call center until then you guys realize when itâs to late to in the end. Even Iâve known leadership whoâve stayed for over 16 years because âitâs a good companyâ then they realized it was to late after wasting their lives in call centers. Itâs a job to pay the bills not a career to stay in. To each of their own. Itâs one of the original meat grinders of the work world and a dead end job. They win you over with pay, niceness and benefits to keep you stuck. Thereâs not a soul on earth who growed up to work in call centers rather in person or in a office unless you have know other skills to go into other careers or itâs all low level people whoâs not that intelligent stay stuck in these jobs or their a lazy person with no true outlook in life or direction. The most dead end jobs on the planet. Good luck!
@@Fourwindsofsuccess oh well that comment wasnât very nice. I donât take too kindly to you calling me âlow levelâ a âbrown noserâ and a lot of other things just because I work in a call centre but I suppose thatâs just a reflection on you. You clearly didnât have a good experience working within the call centre industry and have a lot of hatred which is pouring out of you into your comments on my harmless video. At the end of the day Bri, it does all come down to the company you work for and I donât care what you say if you think all call centres are the same. The company I work for push us to progress further within the company and give us so much support. Yes I agree not everyone strives to work in a call centre but if I end up working for the company I work for now for the rest of my working career then so be it, I wouldnât have a problem with it. At the end of the day, if people didnât work in call centres Bri then we wouldnât be able to help the elderly or people like you who need to speak to somebody about their banking, pension, energy & gas etc. We would be in a world where people were lost. So just because you hated working for a call centre doesnât mean everyone else in the world does. Please think Bri before you comment again as your comments are very harsh.
@@tillylouise â youâre right. If you could make a video on this that would be great aswell but if not I donât mind you answering here, thanks x
Call center is hell on earth. Never go into it. Plus, it's the furthest of secure. If you lose your job, you will get back to square 1 even if you have worked for 12 years. No one will hire you with a call center jobs on your resume.
Heya, I wfh in a call centre and it's amazing for homebodies. I'd say these jobs are highly secure because most people are ambitious and leave the jobs quickly. If you're good at the job and dedicated to showing up each day you are already outperforming 75% of people in most contact centres and can count on being valued by your company. Further, older people prefer to speak with humans, so there is likely a longer term job security for call centre operatives in service industries IMO, especially in the health and insurance sectors as the world's population ages.

I am not sure how Old you are but as a 26 year old who works for a Company Named Mitie (You might of heard of them if you are from the UK)
But I work as a Helpdesk coordinator in the Costa coffee contract in a call centre. I work on a 4 and 4 off shift where I work from 7 am till 7 pm for fours days and have four days off.
I have been working since last May 2022, and I have to say even though the pay is good and office is very lovely work in and now I live in a lovely country house đ by myself where my Aunt is my land lady. I have to honestly state the job itself is self taught and has poor management. Also it drains your soul working there. I probably thinking applying elsewhere for jobs that Have a similar pay and what I like doing and want flourish in.
I hope you life has improved since this was uploaded during height of Dreaded lockdown.
I know the company she worked for.
HI SISTER I NEED YOUR HELP PLEASE TO ME

well it's a day in their life, they can't really record and talk that much about their work.
Why are we watching your morning routine wtf
I was once on a 'bad line' with a customer service call center rep. The young lady began the call with a deep exhale as if she'd rather be any where but on the call with me (I'd called in before and she'd failed to resolve my issue the first time round and tricked me by placing me back in the queue...) and proceeded to ask me how she could help me. I informed her the serial key for the software I'd purchased was NOT working. She checked her database and asked me to confirm if each character of my serial key matched the ones she was saying out aloud. When she said 'D' I misheard and asked: 'sorry, if you don't mind could you please repeat that just one more time ? did you just say E???' to which she calmly replied 'No... D. I said D', to which I replied 'ah okay, D...' and she got irate at this and replied 'No not E. D as in D for deaf', I got confused and replied 'What??? did you just say REF???' At this point all I could hear was silence on the line, no more background noise of her office and then suddenly the call ended. From the customer's pov, that was a really frustrating experience I kid you not.
Oh my gosh what a horrible experience. She should have read out the letters phonetically so D for Delta etc⊠that didnât sound like a nice experience at all. So sorry you had to experience that sort attitude from someone who is supposed to be there to help youđ
@@tillylouise Sorry she didn't say D for deaf, she said D for 'dunce' now that I recall correctly. Nonetheless, that was rude of her to say that on the phone. This was something that happened around 14 years ago btw
Hey sweetie can you reply me on IG I asked few questions
