I had tickets for this game but I started a new job with Michelin two weeks earlier and they wouldn’t let me off to go! Worked the third shift and got up and saw it on tv

Some of the commentary toward the end (Frank talking about how we were in the "driver's seat" for major bowls for example) is absolutely nauseating when you think about how we pissed all of that away against Navy the following week

I was 12 that year and cried when we lost to Navy even at that age I knew what we pissed away

Mike Hagins I hate to say it.....but sometimes when we have those inexplicably bad losses....the image of Pete Rose creeps into my head if you get my drift....how else do you explain losing to Navy after beating FSU or Kentucky after beating No.1 Alabama
