@Unicorns First Because it's called being a civilized, industrialized, advanced society... Every society has these people - they dont go away when you stop giving them benefits, some will definitely get a job and be convinced to begin. Working however many will simply suffer or pass on the suffering to their most vulnerable and defenseless - kids, elderly, mentally disabled etc. And many will simply go down into the strategy of violence, crime, robbery, victimizing others, fraud, etc..
Listen man, I get it. Its fucking maddening and it makes u want to explode and smash their heads in. The ones who face the biggest burden paying for these people - its working class, working poor people who are getting by the skin of their teeth, having to plan out their paychecks and prioritize which of their basic needs they'll take care of this week. Its not the wealthy or upper class or mega rich who pay for it all, they barely are affected by the taxes needed for the benefits so I'm not saying these people aren't pathetic and a drain on us. I'm just saying that saying shit like "cut off all benefits" or being influenced to hurt ourselves and take away our own social safety net just to spite them. In fact, solving these issues may require more spending, not less.. but just not allowing it to be exploited

These folks can't blame me and others coming from a different Country for "stealing their job", when it's a job they didn't even look for because it was too easy to sit on their butts all day and live off benefits. Too lazy even to show up for jobs offered to them. No one offered me anything! I walked miles with my C.V. in hand to give to every shop, supermarket or store in town, plus applications online.
I don't have kids, because I come from a Country where if you can't afford to have children, you don't have them. The Government doesn't pay child support. It doesn't pay housing or bills. It doesn't pay job seeking allowance.
Foreigners come here to work, and we are for sure more motivated than people like this to obtain it and once we have it, we will do everything we can to keep it!
But sure, according to them, between kids, cigarettes, booze, TV and videogames, we are responsible for them being unemployed! Total BS!
I pay the rent, bills and taxes. I have never asked for any kind of benefits, even if I earn just enough to stay afloat with a full time job. Because I pay for everything!

Minimum wage prevented me from getting regular employment at age 16. So I did day-work for less than minimum wage and worked extra hours and saved money. I gave up absolutely everything that wasn't required to survive and always bought the cheapest and most nutritious food. I practically lived on mac-n-cheese, ramen noodles, made my own bread for 1/10th the cost in a store and ate canned meat. I saved enough to BUY a crappy lil thing but it was all mine and a fraction the price of what rent would cost. I retired at 40 years old because I've always lived on less than what I have even during my best years. Minimum wage is meant to prevent sweat shops but also prevents jobs from being available! The reason companies pay 50% more for overtime is because it's cheaper than hiring another employee and giving them benefits! The laws meant to better workers lives also prevents jobs from being created. So many people don't understand that!

Lee's GF breaking that scooter 🛴🛵 🚲 mini bike was freaking hilarious 🤣😆 I have watched this episode like 100 times. I'd love to meet all of these people or see how they're doing today.
