Your videos are amazing, because of that i decide to try their series and finally I'm learning to read music: I can play a lot of music, but i cannot read it but after used your videos as consulting material, got confidence to stay with tthe method and my books 2 and 3 are here waiting
And the fun fact here is after hear your fingering recomendations, I smiled because (after your tips during the book) I always try to do this type of more "pianistic" movement and was really proud to get by myself here (its all about the little victories, right?).
since fingering seems to be kinda flexible, I see no reason to have my right index finger get in the way of my right thumb on the very first pickup note, the e. I've just been using my right thumb for that note, since it's going to be playing it immediately again as part of the right hand chord. Is there a reason I should not do this? (And I do like your finger substitution suggestion for measure 3, since I frequently play that first e with my thumb by mistake anyway. I tend to do finger substitutions sometimes to cover fingering mistakes 🤨) Also, that 3rd measure walk-down for the right hand while the left is walking up but repeating notes is taking some work to get into muscle memory.
There is nothing wrong with playing the first note in the piece with the left hand instead of the right. That's fine. It is up to you.
(3rd time going through this book and still noticing nuances. Shows me that there is no need to rush through the book!)
On the last line last measure I am unsure of the purpose of the pedal as the 2 chords are being held for 3 beats and no repeat sign.
The pedal just adds the overtones to the chord. A repeat sign does not usually affect what the pedal does. It is common to add pedal to longer notes to give them a little tonal color.
For the first minor scale page 128 they mentioned minor melodic scale but after that only harmonic. I check second book and is harmonic only as well. Should I learn harmonic only or melodic as well? Thank you.
I suggest doing the harmonic. As long as you can do the natural and harmonic scales, you will do the melodic when you need it.

Hi, On page 130 of Alfreds’s Adult All in one course “Greentrees” is the IV D, V E and is V7 G. I hope I’m making sense…. Thank you so very much!
You are welcome. This piece is in a minor so the IV chord is the D, the V chord is the E, and the V7 chord is the E chord with the 7th added to it (E-G-B-D). The G is the 7th of the I chord (A - C - E - G).

Hey Bud, Happy New Year. Just have a question.
You can just ignore this if what i recalled is not true
but if IIRC, many videos ago, you said its preferable if a student tries first playing the piece w/o prior idea as to how it will sound. I did that, and its taking me a week to figure out how it to play it. I only listened to the actual piece in the polishing phase of studying it.
Then I stopped doing that because I really want to advance faster thru the course, so before trying the score, I listen first to its song, and its working. So if its not much of a bother, can I ask what exactly is the benefit of blindly playing a score and figuring out by myself how it would sound?
If i don't make sense, of course you can just ignore me. Still, thanks for uploading till today.
I understand. It sounds like you are trying to do music that is a little hard for you to do. I wonder if you really understand all of the symbols and stuff in the written music. The problem with always having to hear the piece first is that you won't be able to learn any music you find unless you can find a recording.
@@LetsPlayPianoMethods That makes sense, honestly I have no idea how a score would sound just by looking at it. I guess that's a problem I'll look in the future years.
~~ Its actually more on hand coordination problem. After having a workable grasp on the rhythm (w/c is often painstakingly long), I work on other elements layer by layer, which lengthen the time spent on studying.

Soooo....🤔🤔🤔 on song greensleeves the pedal is used after the note is played..... is this not the case in this song? 😔 confused.
Me too. I do suggest overlap pedaling here, which is the same as what you are saying. Where in the video are you referring to?
@@LetsPlayPianoMethods i find it easier to iniate the pedal with each chord as opposed to playing the notes then the pedal. Im sorry i don't know the verbiage 🤦♀️
