Just came from seeing these guys play at Her Majesty's Theatre in Adelaide tonight. Their show was sublime and they sound as potent as powerful as ever. Thank you for your wonderful music No Fixed Address. You are as relevant and to the point today in 2023 as you were in 1982. ❤
oh what songs did they play sounds awesome???
I've been in awe of Bart Willoughby for over 40 years. A champion.
This is such an iconic song, which I first heard in the 80s when I saw the movie, Wrong Side of the Road. I was 17. It opened my eyes to the racism that our indigenous people have endured and still endure today.
Hearing these guys live back in the early 80s some pub in Fitzroy /Carlton...alone and very white , was accepted totally and had a fantastic night ...of dance .
Wow this is a REALLY good song. Makes me emotional. As a Jamaican I think I'd have fun jamming with the native Australians :) it seems the reggae and ska vibe has cross pollinated over there. This is an excellent video. Beautiful.
Video is from "Wrong side of the Road," a film that NFA filmed with Us Mob (another band worth checking out) in the early 1980s. One of the best Australian (and only indigenous) films of the 20thc!
Native Australian here. Much love.
TG my aboriginal family
I saw these guys play on Friday at a book launch, it was fabulous the support Stray blacks were great too.the crowd went nuts it was a really good gig, excellent, yeah there is a book about them out, they were radical and original an important band.
There & here!..we survive ~From Dine (Dee naah) Navajo of (USA
I watch Uncle Wally of Navajo Traditional teachings!! He teaches us about the Dine!! Love him ❤️
Powerful song. Love the bass line. I like the way he sings "world", his voice kinda cracks up, it makes it special.
Native Aussie reggae very chilled but strong message
Respect and love we are still here.
Proud bundajung man respect to the elders pass and present
Only listened to this song once and i've already got it stuck in my head. Especially also being indigenous means a lot to what a violent history we have had. Thanks so much for posting it.
this is a flipping classic, this came out in my last year of highschool, i remember paul jones playing it in the art room, we were right into ska but this was a revelation to us...real OZ roots
lovely song!!! peace and salutations from Abidjan, Ivory Coast, Africa, love australian reggae!!! your energy and your music : Lord bless you all! thanks so much
Australian roots reggae! These guys opened for peter tosh at a point in the early 80’s.
this is reggae perfection
Yes, they were an Adelaide Band... one of the best. Always loved them.
I am now obsessed with this song
this is a straight jam right here. feelin' it big time.
Deadly Ay bruz
Damn! How come I never heard of them... I lived in Adelaide in 1983... they are da bomb!
Great song from a great film by a great band with a great drummer singing
Heard this at Petersham in early "80's - still joyous
Best music is ABORIGINAL MUSIC AND VIDEO FOR THE FIRST TIME
I'm a big fan of rock and other Australian rhythms. Especially rock and reggae bands with aboriginal brothers. In my opinion the most expressive rock in the world in the 80s.
This is the original version released on the Wrong Side Of The Road album soundtrack in 1981. The From My Eyes 1982 album version is different.
Still the best band to come out of Adelaide!!
Loved this band. Remember buying the "bootleg" tape in Bali and played it to death
This band is amazing should have made it huge around the world. Thanks for posting this and surviving ❤️🎶
He’s hardly aged a bit, thanks NITV for playing the live clip, singing at Kilda beach. Reintroducing me to my indigenous roots and this legend
Super song 🖐️🖐️
Totally in love with him and his song
Real.
I met Bart Willoughby a few years ago in a pub. His sister introduced me to him
My best mate is a Ngarrindjeri man. I was telling him about a few lads who used to drink with us at the British Hotel in North Adelaide around this time. I'm 60 now, so my memory can't be relied upon, but I reckon they were the original NFA. Along with a great bloke, (Wally McArthur?) who stuffed his knee playing rugby league. A pity that somebody else is trying to use your name now, good luck fellas and thanks for the music. Grant.
Too deadly my brothers, been watching from the start
Roebourne

I have seen them live in Budapest, Hungary. The year was 1988 or 89, that was the first time i saw and heard a didgeridoo.
No Fixed Address at Shepparton - Survival Day 2022 . Be there!
Probably the best band to come out of Adelaide. Also this is not the 1982 version, but the 1981 original track from the album and film (Wrong Side of The Road).
Aussie here- thanks for the info- (i subscribed to you)
I wanna see that movie! 1💗🔥
#NoFixedAddress #Deadly 💥💗🤘🏽
Your description is wrong - No Fixed Address were based in Adelaide, not Melbourne. Chris "Ricky" Jones was from Melbourne though. The rest were Nungas, true and Thru.
Yeah, Rick aka Chris Jones has been living in Bundaberg for some years with his family and wife who is my cousin. and has done some solo work
I see it's now changed to "mainly based in Melbourne" but why the description just doesn't say they're from Adelaide, I have no idea.
Uncle Ricky is a gippslander, currently living in morwell, gippsland
My great uncle les is the lead guitarist of this band
morwell 76 luck to meet these guyes walkin with ian close
What a band- the 1980s seem along way away- i would like to think that aust has advanced (aust fair?) but there is little evidence of that. from ireland and can relate to 'oppression'- racism is all too often colour blind. all i can say is be patient- as u r- let's hope justice and recognition will prevail. first nations will have their day (unless the govts (corporate leaders) of the world procrastinate- what's the chance of that?- so let's be positive). support the struggle- black or white, oppression is oppression.
the boyz
Thought they were an Adelaide band

they re-released the documentary on dvd, forget the name of it now
Wrong Side Of The Road
