That was a super smooth transition to the sponsorship...
He'll do anything to get his revenue dude.
I just saw it and omg that is how ur supposed to do a sponsorship
Like buttery smooth, his segways are flawless
Super smooth and in a good way, there’s a heads up at the start so it’s not deceptive. Instead it’s an interesting transition that doesn’t jar at all. Good bloody job!
I'm not surprised, he knows the world about marketing...
Interesting as always mate! 👍
S bro, We r missing ash answers.
Name drop! Ash is going international!
Well I saw & Tag u first he he quality content don't matter who or where you are !! Ash Rocks
C4ETech hello 😏
Just saw u r comparison video and jumped here
Chinese brands competing hard in india against other Chinese brands, meanwhile domestic brands has stopped even trying.
CJ RM same with the Philippines
You see domestic brand problem that in my country were never ever launch phone cost more than $200 it’s their limit and it quality? Crappy plus often they lauch 100-40 smartphone and the 200 are rare it is the same with india phone i saw just cheap so maybe it was internationally local phone suck ass again because of that who want to buy them anyway
Here in Brazil they didn't even tried. One brand at a time bought some chinese phones and sold rebranded here, but it was crap and expensive and no one bought. If the country has no know-how / business culture / money to invest in such business, it has no chance.
well, xiaomi builds a lot of factories in India and provided many positions to people in need, so they are partially an Indian brand too.
@@richardmoskalyov8503 lol, dosent work this way, the profit made by the company will go to China only.
I like your series. It explains things that I didn't think until you talked about them. Also, I liked your transition to square space... "Be smarter than OnePlus" LOL
Might be the most valuable tech channel on youtube
My best CZcams channel too
That's for sure
Kino黑蘇猩猩 I doubt so. There’s a lot of tech channels.
I agree
It'll soon be blacklisted because of national security.
Criminally underfollowed CZcams channel here. Great info. Love this series.
Just a matter of time before this gets huge
He is a awsm creator who is on the rise and will get subs increased exponentially
moyop85 not really. Tech stuff isn’t for everyone.
A few years ago we used to say Oh No ! A chinese phone ! Ewww. And now we all buy chinese brand phones. Lol.
Suraj Tomar Sorry to burst your bubble, but it's still that way. The truth is, on the rich side of the world nobody cares about a plastic phone with a semi decent camera.
hagis :3 haha seems like west European countries are not considered as rich part. ur really dumb
A few years ago samsung smartphones did cost 900€
Doug Young Nobody in west europe buys chinese phones. Because west europeans are rich.
Doug Young Literally no one I've seen in west Europe walks around with a Chinese phone. The most you'll get is a budget Huawei amongst the kids, who all the migrate to Apple/Samsung in a few years. The guy commenting is Indian. Where people buy shite Chinese phones because they can't afford a flagship device
Toyota -> Lexus
Honda -> Acura
Nissan -> Infiniti
Hyundai -> Genesis
Ford -> Lincoln
BMW -> Mini
Renault -> Dacia
GM -> Cadillac
Volkswagen -> Seat
@ Scion is dead.
Peugeot -> Citrëon
Peugeot -> Opel
VW -> Audi -> Lamborghini
Omg I never made this link! This is so cool
TO HIDE THEIR SHAME
1 second wasted.
Lol love the username
You must be a slow reader.
and i read it
You just wasted 10 seconds reading my username iii
But no one is gonna say anything about how they ripped off each other names?!
Xiaomi> Realme
Oppo > Poco? 😂😂
RealMe sounded like Redmi. 😂
Omg! Hahaah
It seems like they are accusing the other of copying them but subtlely
Realme is Oppo's answer to Redmi, in which it almost destroyed the Redmi series(I said almost because Realme 2 is the worst sequel to any phone ever), so, the company has to answer again, which is POCO, the direct equivalent of Oppo. And also, Poco literally copied what OnePlus' main factor, being available in almost every country. This makes Xiaomi's Mi series unrecognized, with it being only available at selected countries. If POCO will be available at the US, then OnePlus have finally a direct competition.
@@wrong7495 Umm you're wRoNG! Oppo doesn't have a phone with flagship specs within $300.
TL:DW - different brands can target different market segments and consumers without confusing brand identity. It's not unique to the smartphone industry, its very common. A popular example would be VW that owns Porsche, Audi, SEAT etc. Porsche - luxury sports. Audi - saloon/sedan mid luxury. SEAT - semis/lorries. It's to avoid confusion
But in this case it looks like they just trying kill their competitors. lol
Nope, car brands don't make new brands, they only buy competetors. And you don't need more brands one good brand is enough. If there is a VW and a Skoda and both are exactly the same, I would always pick the VW.
I am actually very confused right now what smartphone I buy next bc I don't know any of the affordable brands and so I don't know who to trust.
That if you know was the best ad intro I have ever seen..well scripted well informative.💯
The way you added the sponsorship bit into the video was absolutely genius and amazing. I actually watched the bit.
I was about to ask you to do a video on this topic and then came a notification! ❤
Very nice market segmentation class! Thanks for your video and insights!
Sponsor message at end was lit 😂🔥
ikr
1:51 I see Chelsea Islan, I press like....
I think xiaomi always give crucial and innovative selling tactics....
Well, great video as always, but I've seen that Poco will be sold also offline, in a lot different store (at least, here in Italy)
here in Hungary also (we have Mi Store now in Budapest)
He wanted to say that most sales of those sub brands are online
Smoooooth ad transitions! Props man great to see you grow
I think this was the first ever sponsor segue that was actually informative and taught a little tid-bit fact; well done!
Love the series!
Man what the hell! Why don't you have more subs? You're amazing and so simple to understand! Love from Croatia!
that squarespace ad at the end was really something else
perfect segue there mate, perfect segue! *bows out of respect*
Stellar vis as well. Learning so much from you!
This is my first time on this channel. I like the fact that it's more about staying on the point rather explaining me the entire smartphone history or e-commerce history. Good job mate.
I wanted to buy One Plus X for several months but OnePlus just wasn't able to stock up their site, so I gave up. Maybe that's why the phone wasn't well received OnePlus, because people who wanted it, couldn't buy it
Try eBay.....you can get a second one now
Although I find it amazing that you can actually find a google pixel good condition being cheaper than Oneplus x on eBay ......with pixel being much newer and better specs phone
One plus x isn't a good phone though
I don't think that OnePlus supports OnePlus x anymore
@@iliaz7057 there are huge communities of custom rom developers out there so it doesn't matter
I was planning to buy one plus X bt it had hybrid sim tray and wasn't that impressive , so I went for Moto X play 😍 👍
Great explanations! Thanks for this video
Smartphones companies aren't the only ones with multiple brands.
Musical instrument companies have too.
Fender + Squier
Eagle + Hofma
Epiphone + Gibson
and so on
This is so interesting! . I've never thought that the competition in mobile industry particularly in China is so fierce. I've learned a lot, Thank you.
So, where does VIVO fit into this?
First there was a company called Bubugao, who mainly does educational devices, then the CEO of Bubugao decided to make phones under its brand, and then when smart phones is a thing they make a new brand called VIVO, and then maybe they want to make a brand that sounds younger and thus there's OPPO. And now they also release new phones under the original Bubugao brand as well, which is of course called "educational cellphone".
vivo is now better than oppo on their new phone NEX, but decent chinese actually kind of hate both of these brands
Vivo and Oppo are basically two brands of the same company in some ways. They are hated because they put too much money into promoting their product and thus the price is more expensive than other brands when they both having the same spec. Kinda similar to apple tax except less people like them to begin with.
vivo =oppo
Great analysis as always. It's great how you can bring insight into every one of your videos.
havn't heard such a good sponsor introduction in a while! :D
You deserve more subs
Same as car makes. Seat, Skoda, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche
This was such a surprisingly good analysis. Thanks a lot!
Love to see that one of your videos are out.love you man😘.
Genius transition to your product placement :D
If at first you don't succeed, just pretend like it never happened and start a new brand.
Great video. Good transition to the Squarespace ad
Again awesome video, you always give different perceptive than other CZcams channels and in a way it's unique and that transition from video to sponsorship was just epic :)
Your analysis is just
MIND BLOWING.
I think no one I repeat no one in the entire CZcams platform has ever seen the mobile phone market in this perspective.
If I had to choose between POCO and OnePlus I would go with POCO because OPPO fooled people by projecting OnePlus as a startup and used it to justify the nonavailability of some key features in their phone.
yeah that was really shitty of them. one plus always plays the game of underdog but bbk is bigger than huawei and apple in market share.
You ever look back on your friends on PlayStation, and see those that were left on PS3 and haven’t been online in like 3 years?
lol what's that gotta do with video?
Good explanation. I just found this video on my recommendations. Subbed!
Pocophone also sold offline here in Indonesia, albeit still limited to exclusive Mi stores for now
Great video. Thanks
Glad you liked it!
Sobat hape nyasar

Very nice video informative
Sir you have mastered the "content to advertising" segway; it is seamless. Great job!
That transition to a Square Space ad was smooth af
sir I want you to make videos on why laptops are not getting as cheap as comparatively how smartphones are getting cheap
laptop used to cost $1000+ 10 years ago. now you can buy one for less than $500 easily. Laptops are definitely getting cheaper
@@superbenbenhahaha they are getting cheaper but the performance and build quality is clearly lacking in budget laptops here in India you have spend atleast 500 dollars to the laptop with quad core chip.
It sounds more like Chevy Pontiac Oldsmobile Buick and Cadillac.... Too many Brands too many choices then you have to shrink it down to less choices.
You both are amazing snd my fev
Tech alter make some more video about more company and brand from automobile industry also
This is an old practice....
I mean, Fender has been producing Squire brand guitars since 1982 and Gibson has been making Epiphone guitars also since forever (well, 1957)
Oh you mentioned ash from c4etech. Love from India.
But in Indonesia, pocophone sell in offline retail too..
And in europe also...
because people still need a warranty, like TAM
@Timo Tio That's still become problem among our people, those freaking bastards...
I have a Pocophone its so awesome. It totally beat my expectations! The phone is extremely fast, never lags! Battery lasts for more than one whole day of heavy use! The camera is amazing especially when you download the google camera port from the pixel 3 (best camera on the market) from XDA developers.
The phone doesnt feel cheap even though its plastic, it feels like aluminium. The phone also stays cool even with heavy use thanks to water cooling. I love my awesome poco and cna highly recommend it to everyone!
Die Überleitung zum Sponsor am Ende mit dem Fun Fact war perfekt 😂🤙🏻
That sponser integration was 🔥
Hmm, but Huawei also does heaps of other stuff, laptops, broadband, wearables, mifi/routers etc.
Most are low margin though, apart from Laptops maybe. But Huawei has cut some of it's cost through using Kirin CPUs in their mobiles, so they can still compete quite agressive (see Honor Play)
Huawei and ZTE are two of the most important brand of cellphone network infrastructure device (for example, base stations) manufacturers in China, and they also take part in ITU standard making.
Therefore Huawai's main profit source probably isn't consumer electronics at all.
@@FlameRat_YehLon Not only in China, but worldwide. Their grip on the global market was so strong that the US had to resort to questionable accusations toward them in order to protect US company's. So far, the US tactics of accusing Huawei being evil incarnated seems to working, sadly enough.
So basically like a game of chess🤔
just discovered you mate, very interesting videos thanks
One of best swoop in to sponsor spot.. Like ever!
this has been happening in the car industry to like toyota and lexus
Tasos Arpoudis The reason seems to be being able to focus at different markets at the same time.
For example, GM was able to appeal to commercial (GMC), budget (Chevrolet), midrange traditional (Oakland/Pontiac), midrange progressive (Oldsmobile), stately (Buick) and high-end (Cadillac/LaSalle) buyers without compromising amthing.
... And who buys Toyota's anyways ? Their cars are for people who don't care about good driving and driving pleasure.
@@CharllesC78 Those who need a reliable runaround.
What Charlles Pereira Costa said the exactly the reason a company needs more than one brand. He probably had a bad experience with one car and now will never ever buy the brand again. That happens a lot with brands that tries to reach two different customers segment: cheap one and quality aware one. And the cheap one, sometimes can change to quality one, if he/she has real bad experience with a product. But the brand is burned. And lets face it: you can't provide very good quality with low price. The cheap customers are ok with more or less experience and those will never be converted to quality one in the same brand, because he will hate the brand, and pay more to move to another brand. That is 101 marketing strategy.
Huawei does still have a large networking business to fall back to though
Superbly well researched and meaty videos! Keep it up!
Love it! Good research!
I think 3:10 is not true. Didn't you tell us that Huawei makes the biggest part on the internet providing hardware?
They now don't.
it's true. samsung makes from buildings to ships but that's different business.same goes with huawei
You want to know why I love Xiaomi phone? They're both consumer as well as enthusiast phone. This is also one of the reason why it's very successful in India. Normal consumer buy for the price and enthusiasts buy it because they know community support will be good.
Nah man! The only reason Xiaomi is in hype here in India cus India is a price conscious market. Consumers will only be loyal to those companies which will provide bang for the buck.
If you call MIUI a enthusiast software you're automatically wrong.
André No Last Name I don't say MIUI is enthusiasts ROM, the phone itself is. Bootloader unlocking is easy and Kernel source is always released in a few days/months after their devices are released. These 2 are the most important things for enthusiasts phone.
Mi phones are chinese shit brother ... only successful in India becoz most of its phones are mid range that is Rs.9999 - Rs.19999
Samsung is best actually ( if you buy a good one )
Redmi has shit processors
Btw I use S8 and my friend has Redmi Note 5 pro and my phone runs apps and games 1000× times better than his
@@kimakhiangte Then Xiaomi's hardware and ROM supportt is enthusiast-friendly. Saying phone means hardware and software.
Really informative and a great insight into the marketing strategies that apply for these companies :)
In my country (Philippines), Huawei also sell some Honor phones offline as well as Xiaomi's Pocophone (via Mi Authorized Store)

Smartphones have become like the old PCs of the 90s. Whereas they were all, from Packard Bell to Compaq, lookalike beige boxes, all new smartphones with their full bezel less screens and gradient colour rears all look almost exactly the same.
TechAltar > Technical guruji 🤩 (the sub count should be reversed) 😤
insult to techalter to even think of that comparison! techalter's at an other level!
The only reason Tech.Guruji has such high sub counts is because he came first in India. Most of his audience are educated-illiterates. But the same can be said of maximum of the Indian CZcams scene.
The only reason guruji has subscribers is because it’s in Hindi. Sub par content, useless reviews, comments are not relevant and generally less sophisticated subscribers. You need to be beaten with a stick to compare these two channels.
Absolutely agree
At least his English accent is way better. Technical guruji always talks in a Welsh accent. ;)

For watches it's like Seiko for mass consumer, Grand Seiko for enthusiasts, Credor for luxury
Would be interesting if Samsung creates a secondary brand xd
Except people buy Samsung's for the Samsung brand so that would defeat the purpose
Fuck Samsung. They used us for years

1. They're not Chinese.
2. People buy their phones but their brand name.
3. They already have budget phones like the A and J series.

You always show Great insight and deep understanding of the subject you are talking about. Great job man. Keep it up.
Xiaomi also has their Yi subbrand too
Sorry but you are wrong there, Huawei makes a lot of money from network equipment and infrastructure.
that makes no sense. samsung too makes more from their display and memory business not to mention their shipbuilding and defence indistries and whay not. what he meant was huawei makes profits from phone. where as xiaomi wants to get people into the xiaomi ecosystem they are biggest iot company and they won't sell much so they get people by making the products accessible to everyone. they are like muji or uniqlo in that aspect.
pink Fungi And he didn't mention Samsung because he apparently doesn't consider it a competitor to Pocophone unlike Huawei/Honor. Also Samsung's shipbuilding business and everything outside electronics are separate businesses on their own which are owned by different people, while Huawei's networking is a division part of the same company.
The point is that Huawei has no/few means of earning profits AFTER the sale, while Xiomi has an entire business model just for that. Meaning that Huawei has to profit from the hardware sale, or make no profit at all. Sure they have other business, even more important ones, but if they were to sell phone at cost, it would just be as good as stopping selling phones altogether.
Fernando Álvares Similarly to Xiaomi, Huawei also makes money after sale with smartwatches, laptops and VR headsets which sell more due to brand recognition gained from phones. Anyways who cares where the money come from, the idea is, Huawei could easily match any price of Xiaomi and put them out of business if they want to by simply having more money reserves. The reason Huawei is not doing that right now is the fact that they are still growing strong in Europe and has much higher brand recognition than Xiaomi just like Samsung.
You mentioned C4etech. Yeah!

Marton - It's late and I have run out of superlatives. Nicely done will have to do for now.
Honor is the most successful subbrand in the world
technically they're around for so long that's why they're the number 1 sub brand right now, but that could change any moment because of the competition.
Xiaomi pretty cheap
Fun Tech Sportz Everything Definitely, it's already 60% of total phones from Huawei.
@Nathan DePaul I really hope Honor would fail because it was the enthusiasts that made them successful in the first place.
Honor sucks. The storage used is emmc in most cases, basically an SD card. No matter if it's a kirin 970 or what, with that slow storage even 6gb of ram won't help you. Xiaomi and other brands might use snapdragon 660 but the storage is fast at least.
If you like EMUI, just get a p10 or p20
Honor isn't even new lol.
It is. Conceived in 2011 and established in 2013. Just 5 years back. Unless you are a kid holding a popsicle, 5 years is relatively recent.
Born Cynic Gaming Comparing to Poco series,or realme,it is not new.And especially if we're looking at phone brands,most people were using freaking keyboard phones back in 2010-2011(at least in my country),so no,they aren't really new.
Here in Sweden both Huawei and Honor are sold in stores though.
In my opinion, software experience is equally important as hardware specifications when it comes to flaship killer or flagship killer killer phones. Just like launching premium brands, premium UI is going to decide how well the brands perform.
One plus has to choose now. Either be a brand that offers more performance per dollar and compete with pocophone and make less profit, Or they can be a brand which is an exceptionally well-built flagship phone, compete with s9 and iphone x's and hope that people don't go towards xiomi.
