Just ordered this axe, and from what I've learned so far, it seems like a good purchase.

I love my x27. It's very efficient, and has done well against wet rounds. I've been impressed.

Thank-You for this video. I was unsure what axe to buy (my first) for splitting wet rounds but your video, commentary and the comments helped me settle on this one.
For info - the Amazon link you have goes to the X21, not the X27.

Looks like it does a great job. I should have bought one to borrow out before I let a friend use my Hults Bruk Aneby and they brought it back with a nick in the blade. As a side note, at 2:19 you said, "detestable Fiskars quality". Detestable = deserving intense dislike... I am assuming that this was not what you meant?

It does do quite a great job indeed! Yeah… that’s why I love this axe particularly, you can damage the blade and not cry about it haha.
I did actually mean detestable 😂 for the reason that a lot of axe “purists” look down on the Fiskars line since it’s not very traditional, but nonetheless is quite durable. I used the term in a sarcastic way though.

@@ReviewOutdoorGear Ahh... sarcasm 😀 I might buy one and call it a "friends' axe" because it will be the one my friends get to use when they ask to borrow one... 😁

I've got the 25, 27 and the maul. I don't even look at the 25... do yourself a favour and get an x27
